Here is a place where anyone who doesn't have enough karma to post
elsewhere on the site can whine without fear of losing further karma.
I can't promise what the reactions of other people will be, but the karma

hm, most of these things everyone is bitching about seem like legit things
to write about on the site and not harm their karma. last i checked,
swearing doesn't cause bad karma either
let's remember what the term shmeng means, and why the site was started.
it is, essentially, a place to bitch about shit. devin and i used to sit
around bitching about how shitty people were and it seemed only natural to
create an outlet for that energy.
the fiction writing, the pretty stories, etc - those are all a nice
addition to the site - but i remember devin's famous words "shmeng exists
because people suck"
on that note, i would like seeing people submit some nice juicy rants (well
thought out detailed rants, of course!)

Eh, Ick, it's sort of a catharsis for the little pidly shit that doesn't

I agree Ickgirl and Devin, it is a waste of perfectly good Karma free
space. Yet look at the kind of people that are posting her. (In reference
to Devin's Article "Shmeng 2.0 membership") So far we have a mix of
brilliant people, pets, and Pantheon members. There isn't any otherwise
offensive things coming out of these people that would cause some Karma to
get chopped off- because they aren’t “noisy idiots”. Notice also how the
“Harmless unremarkable members” have yet to post here. The don’t want to
offend anyone.... or participate in this function. This, consequently by
the nature of the people here, is only put to good use by Devin (obviously
for all of the shit he was to wade through daily, dealing with people) or
Callei (who has to edit the said drivel submitted to the site- and that
looks like that issue coming to a close with the new script). - I can’t
wait until she rants here *giggle*
Why I think Bettie, Cashmere, Ironboots, Xaoswolf, Alonesoul, and I are
posting here and taking advantage of the free karma zone, is because these
comments here are pissy, petty, and otherwise beneath what our usual
thoughts and contributions are like. It may not really be bad Karma to put
these words anyplace else on the site, but I think it’s a matter of taste
and the appropriate place to dump some garbage. Honestly, do you really
want an article about me bitching about Jane Austin? Granted it would be a
little funny, but I would have to post it under the heading whining and it
would provide more headaches than giggles.
I'll try to use this more wisely next time, but what I did so far just
makes me feel good.
And actually I think I just have to work up some balls to use this place
properly, I feel like giving some well deserved ass kicking (without being
arrogant or too cocky- you know.... justified). New freedoms can sometimes
be hard to utilize when you are used to social boundaries and rules.

I hope though my words didn't waste too much of the karma free zone. They
seemed more like sentence fragments but I just don't care now. Z

I am so fucking pissed off with my ex-best friend it's unbelievable.
Suddenly it's ok for her to dump me and act like an air-headed bimbo
because she's one of the 'cool' people now. She gets to laugh at things
that aren't funny and make like she's queen of the fucking world and we
should all worship her sorry arse because she goes to the pub; she goes and
gets drunk, and gets high and that makes her cool. But 'cause I don't wanna
do those things I'm trash, and below her. Never mind the fact that when she
got beaten up I held her while she cried and told her I'd look after her,
went in the ambulance with her cause her parents couldn't be contacted and
she was scared. No matter that I was there for her when she thought she was
pregnant, and I tried to help her, told her I'd do anything, told her I'd
go to the doctor with her or whatever. But no, now she's all happy and
perky and so fucking insipid it makes me sick. She doesn't need my help, so
I'm not worth her time.
