Trust the Americans to corrupt yet another Pagan based Christian festival
into a commercially crazed drug and violence fest. |

Well dear abby, most people know the basic hows and whys of halloween, (not
all, mind you) and the trickortreating bit was actualy invented by the
irish. And it would only be drug crazed if everyone who celebrated the
"demon american" ideal of halloween was into drugs. Drunk as usual I shall
be, but drug free as always
And not everyone thinking of halloween ideas on this forum are american
But you have
to admit, dear abby, that we know how to fucking party.
Here *tosses a wet blanket* thought you could use some company.
I'm just up for ANY chance to get bat patern dishtowels and house stuff!
And I stil haven't found any decent bat fabric.....fuckers.
I have great ideas for halloween costumes, I just hate wearing them. I
feel like a dork and it's rare you'll catch me at a "party". I always work
halloween, and it's difficult to do so when you've got stuff all over.
I think I"m just going to stick with my usual...slap on some stick on devil
horns and get ho'ed up.
And court, yes, you have to post a picture of your costume, I bet you'll be
ADORABLE!
Everyone who gets dressed up should post a pic...it'd be fun! ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

i was entirely too excited about halloween this year. i had SCADS of plans
but all have fallen to the wayside. oh well i guess. im just going to
have to finish decorating my patio, go buy more candy, and plan devilish
things to do to the little kiddies in our apartment complex.
i think i'll still dress up...its a great excuse!
hooray me!! |

Well here where I happen to live the way of celebrating Halloween is a lot
different then in the US.
Basically people visit their dearly departed ones at the cemeteries and
leave a lit candle on their graves, perhaps say a prayer... It's quite a
sorrowful event, especially since it's in the autumn.
But the sights are great, particularly in the evening – bare trees,
dead leaves, candles on old grey graves...

Oh man, Xaoswolf, yoo rock!
I know how cliche this is going to sound but I always wanted to go to
Detroit for Devil's Night. Has anyone been there and if so, is it actually
as fucked-up as it was portayed in The Crow? |

Well, I'll be up there the second week of november, so I can tell you of
any after effects. However, I have no idea what it'll be like on the
actual night. ____________________ Sometimes I dream about dinosaurs shopping for cargo shorts at the Gap.

I live a couple of hours from detroit and people say it's everything they
play it up to be.
The area I live in actually has hours that trick or treating is allowed.
They give like an hour or two just at twilight time, and then you're not
supposed to trick or treat after that. I usually end up working on
Hallowe'en, so I end up watching horror flicks and stuff after work. When I
dress up I like to go the vampire route a lot of the time or dressing like
a gypsy sometimes. I've done the red sequined belly dancer thingy with a
ladyfriend dressing in a white belly dancer outfit and a guy friend of ours
dressing up as a shiek and touring the clubs as a trio, that was really
cool. If in serious doubt of what to wear I'd wear a red devil outfit. Will
probably just wear my work teeshirt this year, since the boss was so kind
to have us buy the shirts this year. *rolls her eyes*...just getting ho'ed
up is sounding better and better to me now that I think about it. Probably
if Betty_x will post about getting ho'ed up this year, then I'll do the
same *lmao*...sounds like a good idea. ____________________ "When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never

HA! We can start a "ho train" *snicker*
I'm totally doing it. I have been living in dickies and teeshirts for
almost a year, and I sort of miss gettin all fancy pants, and I have all
that great stuff in my closet that is just collecting dust. I just have to
see if it still fits
A guy at work asked if he could be me this halloween. Said he'd get a
black wig, a long black skirt and chainsmoke all day. I told him to go for
it*hahah*
I would go as him, but company policy prohibits me showing up for work like
a drunken mick who dresses like a cowboy, acts like a pirate, and chases
skirts all day. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |
