Again I am at a loss as to what a "fake goth" is. I do not see how someone
can be goth at heart. Goth is a stereotype. Its a way of dressing. Its
people still trapped in the aftermath of teen angst, or art fags, or people
who just think it looks pretty (im sure there are more). Goth is not a
state of mind. Being goth does not make you a unique and individual
snowflake. So why is it bad (as stated in "Back in Black?") that this style
of dress is popular. Last year is was animal prints, this year its all
black.
For example, I became "goth" when i got compliments on wearing black quite
often, when i saw some other goths and went ´wow, that looks really pretty.
i want to be pretty like that´. is there something shameful about that? So
if i dont listen to bauhaus, get sad over my dying rat, or come up with
catchy titles like "jesus in the life of a cigarette" im a fake or a
newbie? You guys here act more like the ravers ive met than most goths i
know...
Get your self some goddamn glow sticks and talk about plur somewhere
else....

ok,,, read more.
I had rats once, then dad made me take them back to the pet store because
he doesn't like rodents... He says thats why we have a cat. Me and my
sister cried when we took them back because the lady said she was just
going to give them to her snake... After we had had them for about a 2
weeks and loved on them a ton. It was heartbreaking. ____________________ When the world is over, will we wonder how it began? |

Aw it's alright ZP, the bitch hasn't been back since. SHe's probably
tooling around in her internet troll shortbus and letting everyone,
everywhere know what a pointless rag she is. I'm sure she'll be back
SOMEDAY, she usually does that...comes in, prances around, gets mad, and
leaves. I'm sure she still trolls around here every now and then, they
usually do, even if they don't have the balls to say anything just then. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

i have kept rats for about 5 or 6 years now, and i find them to be FAR more
amiable than most humans i know! It has probably been said a million
times, but anyone who is cowardly enough to directly insult dozens of
people who could easily kick her ass, and additionally indirectly insult
innocent creatures who, to my knowledge, do not have the skills to type out
an ass-ripping post to DEFEND THEMSELVES! Think about that, before you go
attacking. Just because they dont wear clothes, or exclude others as a
defense mechanism for their pathetic insecurities, does NOT by ANY MEANS
give you the right to say they are "just rats." how about i put you in a
testing lab, and subject you to the torment test anials are subject to, be
stripped of your identity, your claver little nickname, and call you
"just."
Sorry if i sound immature. Have a nice FUCKING day. |

Hey if you were one of my rats you'd live GOOD I tell you! Mine are all
nice and fat and healthy. I even open windows and turn on the fan when I
smoke in the room they're in! *lol*
I came home one day and my mom had all these mice traps and poison boxes
out on the counter, prepared to be set the next day in the food shed for
our goats....and she was SO PISSED because I threw them away and replaced
them with live traps. Okay, it wasn't the fact that I bought live traps,
it was because I wrote a note next to them that said "People don't try to
poison YOU when you find a nice warm safe home with lots of food. Shame on
you."
She was quite upset with me *lol*
but she did use the live traps and I relocated the mice elsewhere
She also used to rag me about my vet bills on my rats.
"I can't believe you spent 120 bucks on a 5 dollar animal"
Poor mom. She just doesn't get it.

Yeah, animals are certainly better than some people. I used to get upset
too, CGB, when I saw animals that got hurt / killed. *reminisces* I
couldn't finish reading 'Call of the Wild' because it made me cry!! The way
I see things, animals hunt to survive and other than that they don't harm
anyone - any nuisances caused are unintentional because they animals don't
know they're being a pest. Humans on the other hand seem to delight in
hurting others, causing destruction, being annoying and just generally
making me wish *I* were a rat (specially if I had an owner like you
Bettie!) because life would be so much nicer! ____________________ Do not fear death so much, but rather the inadequate life. |

I have a cat I named Taz (he acts like the one on Luney Tunes; he doesn't
like water, spazzes around a lot, and well, hehe, those things). As a
kitten, I use to play with him a lot and well, as years passed, I never
really play with him as much. However, it doesn't mean I don't care if he
gets fed or not (I at least do that once in a while, that or my parents)
and I still pet him sometimes. Otherwise, he'll meow when he wants my
attention.
This is an example of animals having feelings and reasonings of their own.
It's like a
baby crying when they get waken up or hungry.
It's ironic, really. When I was young, I use to get pleasure out of
squishing frogs and bugs but now I do best not to hurt anything unless it's
out of defense mechanisms. For instant, I try to let spiders outside
unless it's a spider that will poison me (brown recluses and black widows
are examples). Hell, I frown when my mom has to set up mice traps for the
sheer fact that mice just want to survive.
I do not think highly of the human race, either. However, a several people
have shown there's hope...even if just a -little- of it. While humans
should not be taken lightly, I do not think animals should be, either.

I dont blame you Bettie......I tend to be more fond of animals than people
myself. I cant have any pets right now cause my little girl has real bad
allergies. Gotta love though how the doctors always blame allergies on
pets....BAH! When I was even a little girl I couldnt even handle seeing a
dead animal on the side of the road, I would cry and cry and my
grandparents would get upset with me cause they thought it was silly to
feel that strongly about an animal especially one that I never had or seen
before. I started this whole string back up cause someone told me about it
and I was like "WHAT! Give me the link or tell me where it is." Pissed me
off really that someone could be that awful and say mean things like that!
This is exactly why some people (eg: me and you and psychopixi...etc.) are
more fond of animals than people. Anyway Sin should be strung up and beat
with a really big stick....you know the ones MY STICKS OF DOOM...LMAO ____________________ Guns are good, Guns are great...Kill the people that you hate! |

I can't believe this forum is still going *lol*
Psychopixi, anya, and a few others (the recent posters too, sorry I'm too
lazy to scroll back) thank you for understanding.
As for animals not having feeling, or being simply animated objects, I spit
in the eye of every single fuck that thinks that way.
Rats are HIGHLY intelligent, and they have feelings and emotions. If they
are alone in their habitat, with no company, and their person ignores them,
they easily die of depression. I have a somewhat busy life, and I"ve never
had less than two at a time for that reason. And not having
emotions...tell that to lulu, who is hanging on the side of her cage when
she hears my car pull in, right on the side by the entrance to my living
room where I walk in. I leave the TV on for them during the day so they
have voices to listen to. They are played with every day (anny however
doesn't like to come out, so I play with her inside the cage). They are
cherished for every moment I have them.
Rats are astounding little furballs. Unconditionally loving (more so than
dogs) eager to learn and play and just BE AROUND the people and things they
love.
Stella, Lucy, Nico, and Poppy were the joys of my life, and losing them was
the hardest thing I've ever gone through. Especially with Lucy, who I
struggled for WEEKS to save (even mixing a high water, low salt/protein
diet for her to try to relax her dying kidneys and flush out the infection)
only to have her die in my hands. Poppy with whom I had to make the
difficult decision of letting a vet help her go quietly vs. hanging on and
dying in pain. Nico died in her sleep.
I will always have animals. ALWAYS. I don't care how expensive it gets,
and all of them enjoy the best quality of life I can give them, because
they know when you love them, when you care, when you're happy or when
you're sad. They know, and they feel, and they LOVE which is a HELL Of a
lot more than I can say about most people.
I feel like that guy in the moving coming out called "willard"...without
the murderous minions of rats, that is. My minions of rats will be like
all my rats have been...full of kisses and curly whiskers and harassing me
to play "get the rat" at every opportunity.
I've got more good things to say about the animal population than I do the
human race. Sad isn't it? When you compare the two? ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

I find it quite amusing, yet sad that people go as far as saying an object
is "just an object." It reminds me of the time when someone says that
animals cannot reason. For one, I respectfully disagree with that - a
mother wolf shields her cubs, a guard dog is territorial, etc. In a sense,
it can be called instinct, but why doubt that animals have feelings...like
humans? If animals are so irrational, I'm afraid I cannot consider humans
anymore rational.
While I agree with freedom of speech, I disagree with outright rude rants
made by insecure individuals. On top of that, you easily styled Bettie's
rat as "just a rat." I dislike bringing this up to you but:
It was not just a rat.
Bettie's rat was her rat and she loved her rat very much. The rat was not
"just a rat"; the rat had feelings, a life of it's own, and many other
things. Ergo, it's too simple to say the rat was "just a rat" - it was not
"just a rat."
Come to think of it, despite my philosophical share of weed, I would not
burn you at the stake like they did in the Inquisition, Sin. In fact, you
are too insignificant to hate.

Everyone's already said everything I think about the pets thing - I'd be
heartbroken if my dog died and I cried my eyes out over my hamster. Pets
are really fucking special, and I'm sorry this forum has brought up painful
stuff for you Bettie.
As for what Sin said, that was a really fucking cheap shot. That's my
opinion summed up nicely.
