Oh, water will suck you in. It consumes you...when you fall in, it will try
and pull you lower.
Hitting water from a fall is like hitting concret.

I love cliff diving. You jump off, then you think to your self, "wow,
perhaps Ishouldn´t have done that", then you start to ponder some of
life´s more subtle ways to have fun, you turn and look at the sky for a
while, perhaps grab a quick cup of coffee or a light nap, wait about 30
seconds, then hit the water. We got some cliffs by my place that we used
to go off all the time, you just had to make sure you didnt´ hit the car
that someone drove off it when you hit the water.
My only other fear would have to be that of a boring life. I mean, a life
time of comic books, anime, and sci-fi and readied me for life in a desert
wasteland filled with giant robots, roving bands of mauraders, and mutants.
And well, I wanna get to see at least some of it before I die. Heck, I´d
settle for some graboids... ____________________ Sometimes I dream about dinosaurs shopping for cargo shorts at the Gap.

Mirrors. Mostly because of that stupid "Bloody Mary" game a bunch of silly
girls introduced me to when I was about 12...
Heights... well, not exactly heights, but falling... I fell out of a
hayloft when I was 18 and broke two ribs... been scared of being in high
places ever since. Of course, I have this sick fascination with going to
the edge and looking and seeing how much I can stand before I get
dizzy...
THE DARK... but usually only really bad after I´ve watched a scary movie,
then I see things in the dark, and am afraid to walk down the hallway,
because there are corners for things to hide behind. Usually it´s Rogue
hiding there to jump out and scare me...
Death by drowning, suffocating, strangling, anything that takes my breath
away... This also has to do with my claustrophobia, which has actually
gotten better over the years.
Tornadoes and other violent storms. I love a good, hard thunderstorm, but
when it starts throwing things and otherwise destroying property, I freak
completely out. I also have tornado dreams a lot...
Spiders... didn´t have this fear until I was actually bitten by a brown
recluse and my leg swelled up and turned black. I still have a scar from
it...
Being Alone... Not alone in the house, although it was that when I was
younger, but being really alone, with no one to turn to, nobody to care for
me... really, really alone. I think that one is the worst fear I have.
Everything else can be overcome if I´m not alone... ____________________

Failure: I´m definately terrified of having someone depend on me and
royally screwing it up.
Still water: It´s not the water so much, but I used to get so creeped out
swimming in water that i couldn´t see through. Lakes that were all dark and
no longer had currents and when you put your head under water all you could
hear was the whump-whump of ski boats off in the distance. That always gave
me the willies.
Wide open spaces: I can never remember if the name is agrophobia or
agoraphobia, but one is leaving the house and the other is wide open
spaces. I´m fine to leave the house as long as its not situated in the
great plains region. ____________________ It is only through the lack of sex that humanity derives the need for an

Hmm, mirrors in the dark.
There´s something so twisted and fucking horrifing in the image in a
mirror, in the dark....
When I was smaller I was afraid of my grandmother - she was so weird and
wrinkled and looked like a witch. And she had a lot of cats so I always
freaked out when I had to visit her...
And sharp objects like knives, saw, even sharp pencils, saftey pins (I beat
this one by sticking them into my clothes).
Anyway what´s this ´Bloody Mary´ thing concerned with mirrors?
Oh, Bettie, if You´re afraid of clowns I´m sure You´ll enjoy these guys:

Oh yes I´m familiar with that *shudder* gotta love das ich tho.
Shade, agrophobia is fear of wide open spaces and agorophobia is fear of
people. I remember which is which by the "agro" in agoraphobia like
"agr-o-culture" or something.
I don´t mind wide open...as long as that whole big wide open isn´t full of
PEOPLE.

Oh and as a side note on the clown bit, I have and always will be TERRIFIED
by "characters" in costume like the ones at knotts berry farm and disney
and universal. This includes mall santas, department store "frosty the
snowman"s, and the easter bunny. Of the few pics they managed to get of me
with frosty at a local shop (of which there is only TWO) I looked SERIOUSLY
UNHAPPY and was being held there by my sisters.
But the ones at universal aren´t bad because they´re all just dressed up
like people like beetlejuice, Lucille Ball, Doc from Back to the future,
etc. but that didn´t put me at ease when Beetlejuice chased me down and
about stuck his tounge in my ear while my mom laughed and took a picture
saying "Oh how funny it´s beetlejuice and lydia!" *grumble*
It´s those giant fucking tiggers, and mickies, and that monkey from the
lion king that get to me. I actually lived a life long dream of
frightening one off, about two years ago. My family and I went on a
"family vacation" to disneyland (mind you I´m the youngest and I was 20 at
the time) and like clockwork before any vacation I came down with a
hiddeous headcold...so we had breakfast (that is if anything vegan in
disneyland can be CALLED breakfast...I had every variety of fruit bowl in
california...from the bad to the worse) in "goofy´s kitchen" *shudder* and
this big fucking Monkey from the lionking came to our table as I was hiding
behind the comic strip section in the paper. He greeted everyone at the
table and I thought I had avoided him when this big furry fake blue
oversized monkey hand pushed the paper down in front of my swollen,
snottclotted, disgruntled face and without thinking smacked his hand,
hacked a loogey, and indescreetly deposited it into my napkin (but thought
better of throwing it at him ´cause my parents were there). He promptly
left and I got "the look" from my whole family except from my dad and
brother in law (who laughed and said "that was GREAT!) who seem to always
"get" me even if they know better than to side with me.
Never mess with an unhappy vegan with a headcold. Oh, I forgot when we
were there when I was 15 (okay my dad has this "thing" for disneyland...I
don´t know what) I was getting a little too much of the wrong attention
from tigger and he got a hard elbow in the ribs when my mom wasn´t looking.
"Where´s he going?" "Oh, I dunno, he doesn´t seem to like me very
much"
I fucking hate characters!! There´s just something frightening about a
humongous cartoon that wants to hug you. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

Bloody Mary is when you take a candle and go hold it in front of the mirror
while looking at your reflection while saying "Bloooody Maaary" 13 times
slowly. Then you imagine that you see a disembodied head of a bloody woman,
with a disembodied hand holding a bloody knife. When you´re 12 and
impressionable, you´ll see any damned thing you´re told to see... I think
they made a series of horror movies loosely based on this, the "Candyman"
ones... I never saw any of them... ____________________

under that costume... ____________________

I played that bloody mary game when I was 5. I had nightmares because of
it but... On clowns...the only clowns I ever liked were the ones on the
back of a t-shirt I got. My grandma used to make us clown dolls and they
scared the hell out of us. I was 4, my sister was 8 and my mom would put
the clown over the edge of the net made for stuffed animals so if we looked
up it would be staring down on us. One time it fell on my sister and she
freaked out. I won´t go near clowns in person, or those people dressed up
in santa outfits. It´s toooooo scary. I have a fear of porcelin (sp)
dolls too. My mom has a cabnet full of them and then there are some around
the house. I think they´re posessed *gets paranoid* especially the one
that´s supposed to be me as a child.. *shudder* ____________________ "Pity no one was there

Clowns - I´m fine with. Mirrors - also fine, I did the Bloody Mary thing
just to prove my friend wrong and I never saw a thing. Heights I´m okay
with, although I tend to have a rather annoying compulsion to jump off of
whatever tall thing I happen to be on. Don´t know why.
What I am scared of though - dinosaurs and stuff like the thing in Jeepers
Creepers. I see those things in the dark, lurking in the shadows for days,
weeks after I watch one of their films. I got so freaked out after watching
Jurassic Park, where he said the T-rex couldn´t see you if you stayed still
that I just lay in bed not moving a millimeter for about 5 hours.
Spiders - Too many legs, too many eyes and just so damn creepy. If I see
one anywhere in my room I have to get my boyfriend to kill it or throw it
out of the window because if he doesn´t I won´t be able to sleep. I´ll just
lie there thinking ´It´s crawling under the quilt.´ I can even convince
myself that I can feel it.
Losing my mind - getting old and going senile scares the shit out of me.
Thinking about it just gives me the shivers. The fact that I might end up
in some home somewhere with no-one I know (or at least remember) around me.
Like this old woman I used to know was living in the 1950´s. She thought
her sons (all fully grown men) were just children and kept on calling out
for them to come home for tea. I´d sooner kill myself than lose my mind. I
wouldn´t be me any more, I´d just be this shell that ate and breathed but
didn´t really *live* any more. That has to be the single scariest thing I
can think of. ____________________ Do not fear death so much, but rather the inadequate life. |

Oh I know! I don´t want to loose my mind when I´m old either. I´d rather
be like the women on the show Golden Girls where they have good health and
all. The oldest lady is around 85 or something and shes in perfect
condition mentally. *shudder* my mom is already loosing her mind and she´s
45 (lol) well she´s going deaf too... ____________________ "Pity no one was there

I loved Jeepers Creepers. Especially the ending. If some big monster
thing attacked me, I´d probably kill it with lightening bolts from my
brain, or the big flaming sword that I store in my chest, because I´m a
firm believer that if there really are monsters under my bed, and they are
after me, then there has to be a reason that they haven´t attacked me,
mainly my beat ass super powers.
Sure I´m a bit dulisional, but hey, it just makes me more interesting at
parties... ____________________ Sometimes I dream about dinosaurs shopping for cargo shorts at the Gap.

Spiders are great. They kill annoying bugs and such. I have a few crawling
around in my room and they really did help the bug problem out. *then i
realized that my window was broke and fixed that, hence the bug problem was
forever fixed*
Bloody Mary, maybe if I had enough to drink I´d do it...
Little clown dolls are just strange to me really, they have that "I´m going
to club you and eat your bones" grin on their faces...like that one doll
from Poltgergiest. *right spelling?* ____________________

This is an odd one but every time I get on an elevator I hope no one comes
running up as the door is closing and I have to hold the door for them, I
get paranoid and think that when I stick my hand out to hold the door it
will keep going and squish my hand if I don´t pull it back in time. ____________________ l33t is the bastard cousin of contractions. |
