I play in a band that does a lot of out of town shows and being on
the
road from 12- 2:00 in the morning, after a show, gives you a lot of time
to talk.
I would say at least 80% of our conversations turn philosophical.
The end of the world seems to ba a favored subject among the group as of
late.
America is becoming involved in war with a number of other
countries.
North-Korea pulled out of the nuclear treaty. Sadam has been a bad monkey
and ect.
What are your thoughts on war and the end of the world?
How do you think it is going to end?
What would you do in the event that it did? ____________________ You can do more with a kind word and a gun than with just a kind word.

the more rights they take away from us the more crime they make.
another way to put it would be...
the more you tighten your grip lord vader... the more star systems will
slip through your grasp.
i guess the point i'm going for is this.
al kapone was instrumantel in having the pro-hibition lifted.
when the goverment realized that they had created a more violent world by
denial of one of our most basic rights, they had to lift the ban on spirits
and licquor. A beer isn't that inportant but the right to drink one is. ____________________ You can do more with a kind word and a gun than with just a kind word.

Okay...not much of forgetting why they came here, but turning into the
people they fought against and tried to get away from. But again, my

Shade - I roughly agree on your hegemony post. Slowly, but surely, our
rights are being taken away. It's sad but true; people came here for
freedom. Now a lot of people forget why people came here for. On the other
hand, we also made dominion over the things that were here first (the
Indians for an example). But what can I say...politics is a nice guilded
cage...not necessarily "good" or "evil", but a guilded cage...well in my
opinion, anyway.

Yeah, I totally kow that we (along with everyone else) have been giving him
money over the years...it's the way of the world unfortunately. But also
unfortunately a lot of money given to people like that is under the belief
that it will be used to better their situation...instead it goes to their
own pockets to strengthen their stranglehold on their own suffering people.
Sometimes well, probably a LOT of the time, it's just money flying around
the globe, for no reason or for bad reasons, and it'll never stop.
And also remember, our politicians aren't the only slippery lying
sonofabitches out there, and our govt is as easily fooled as the next, and
don't see that until it comes back to kick them in the cajones. A lot of
decisions in the past at the time SEEMED like good ideas, SEEMED like a way
to remedy a situation without war, but were dead on wrong, and everyone is
paying for it now.
This war to me seems like way to little way too late. Our govt went from
our purpose being "disarming" to "eviction" to "disarming" to "liberation"
to "stamping out terrorism" to "disarming" again and then back to
"liberation" and it's like, for CRYING out loud get your shit straight,
stop insulting my intelligence, and we ALL already know that whatever you
are going to do, you're going to do it, public outcry be damned. We're
aware that this is no longer a country based on the voice of the people.
Just cut the bullshit already. We'll find a way to undo you as soon as we
can, but in the mean time just cut the crap. We could have easily done
away with hussein in the first gulf war, but once we achieved our minimum
objective of getting his ass and his troops out of Kuwait, once we had the
Kurdish rebels and the tribal rebels and the Iraqi people taking back their
own country, we were like "Oh well hey look at the time we're about done
here, see ya" and left them to be slaughtered without so much as a second
glance. Thousands of rebels were slaughtered as they waited for the US
backup they were promised. Why should they count on our govt now?
Oh, and bush is in the beginning actions of changing the presidency term
laws in the constitution to make the presidential terms unlimited. Nice. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

Ah. Suppose I was a bit unclear about that one. Saddam Hussein is
definately living on his people's oil, yes. But in addition, he has, over
the years, gotten support, if not money, in public sight and under the
table, from the US administration, and at the same time, he has over and
over again shown to be not trustworthy. But anyway, he is not the best
example of that part as whether the rick world are feeding their own
enemies. Osama is a better one. But my point was mainly that the
"arrogance" is making misfortunate people mistrust for example USA. E.g.
the people of Iraq and their suspiciousness towards whether Bush can make
their country better post Saddam, in the beggining of the war.
Anyway, you are absolutely right, I was a bit black and white about Saddams
funds. God, all the corruptcy in the world is making me crazy. Please tell
me this is a youth thing I'll get over. (Being ironic, mind you) |

ONe problem with your theory darlin. The "war" *coughcough* wasn't over
money. Sadam Hussein had money. Lots of money. Way too much money if you
consider how poor his nation was. Where did all that money go that the
country's oil riches brought in? Presidential palaces, and his own
pockets, and those of his sons and "yes" men. If even distributed, Iraq
would be a very rich nation. Why aren't they rich? Because of Hussein's
pocketing of every dollar and cent that flowed into that nation. It went
into the marble mosaic floors, the elaborate woodworking, and the gold
plated (or solid) SINK FAUCETS in every single room of every single palace
that man and his lackeys lived in. Iraq is poor. Their leader was filthy
rich. In most countries such as that (poor and in constant turmoil under a
dictator) you will find that scenario. Starving, filthy, beaten people and
one big fat comfy "leader". Add into that equation whatever deals he made
throughout the region trading oil for whatever...favors, weapons, silence.
I mean we all know that he was in a deal with france, giving them oil at
40% of the market value if they'd stay out of his hair. So does that make
the french as culpable for the suffering of Iraqi people? To some extent,
yeah. But then again, this is about oil and money, right?
I'm not going to go into the whys and hows of the war, because I don't care
anymore (for several reasons). But if the wealth of Hussein and his
flunkies were evenly distributed or used to bring commerce and jobs and
bring the massive poverty level out of the mud, then Iraq would not have
the problems that it has today. Iraq is a rich nation...it's wealth has
just been poured into so many gold fixtures and marble floors and massive
palaces in a few select areas that they are forbidden to go. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

This seems to be when I can take out the part-time philospher in me and
start a riot over my very strongest beleif: The Human Race must die out. It
it becoming more and more obvious that the Homo Sapiens Sapiens was a great
mistake. If one pictures the existence of Earth as a clock, present being
00.00 pm, the human has only existed for a few seconds.
The dinosaurs lived for over half an hour. Even so, they didn't develope
nearly as fast or as extensive as we have done, and neither did the rest of
the animal life. I think that is the key to their sucsessful living.
If we look at the few seconds of our existence, the nature around us hasn't
developed all that much, while we have made dramatic changes, both in our
way of living, and in the matter of how we treat our surroundings. Humans
have this exceptional urge to know everything, and to discover reasons for
absolutely everything we run into. Ever since the beginning of recorded
time, we have believed that we know all there is to know about the World,
and that the scientists, priests or alchymists have been thought to be
all-knowing. The funny part is that "all-knowing" people of the modern
human don't seem to consider the fact that we too might be wrong. Instead,
they sounded their pledge of besserwiessing through making currencies and
deciding that everyone who fails to get a hold on as much as possible of
this, is meant to live in a gutter. Then, as a natural consequence, we get
too much money, and start buliding huge buldings and purchasing impressive
cars as to really rub it in on all the "poor" people who can't manage the
same symbols of richness and "civilization". Then, we (read: Americans, no
offence) act all surprised when an Arab or a Russian who actually has
managed to get a hold on some money feels that enough brag is in fact more
than enough to spend millions on "revenge" acts against the snobbery and
humiliance. Using all spare change, we make abnormously advanced weapons
for our own protection, and use them against all populants of the country
that bred the attacker.
The funny part is that this attacker got his surprising funds from the rich
countries. Take Saddam Hussein for example, since he is pretty current...
It makes me sick that the leaders of the world can't see that they are
fighting themselves, and that they cannot expect a member of a civilization
that has been supressed by the rich ones for ages to forgive it all as soon
as he is given money to fight someone the rich are afraid of. It all hits
back on "us" eventually, and still, we can't seem to find any solution to
the problem.
It is a simple conflict, we have let capitalism take control of our
development. But I do not think it is possible to turn back, even though
everybody deep in realize the way things are. I think humans have gone way
to far. We are destroying ourselves, our future genereations' morals, and
the nature surrounding us, by doing what we do AS a living. And the nature
is gonna strike back, just like the Arabs are striking back at the
Americans. We will be remembered as an attemted species that went wrong and
died out half an hour too early. I do truly believe this, because nature
has the ability of fixing errors in its own contents, no matter what. I
could have gone on about the ways I think Mother Earth is putting us out,
but that would be a different discussion, wouldn't it. |

Well, it's all a matter of whoever throws the bigger hissyfit wins. It
doesn't even have to be a majory view on any given matter. It's whoever
can complain, cry, bitch, and freak out the most that gets their way.
"Housewives with stationary". IE: Bored, self important people who for
some reason or another took the unneeded position of being everyone's
fucking momma. I have a mother, bitches, and she did just fine.
The reason that all these laws and initiatives are even brought up, is
mostly because people don't want to take responsibility for their own
actions. So they make up laws that exempt their ass from blame when they
fuck up themselves, their kids, or someone around them. You let your 12
year old mess around a mall by themselves while you go do god knows
what...your kid gets shot by some gangbanger (who's mother also left him
unattended or whatelse since an early age hence him finding his family in
gangs and violence) but somehow it's not the gangbanger's fault ("victim"
of society) it's not the shot kid's MOM's fault for letting their kid run
around by themselves and get into trouble (the world should be foam
cushioned for all my darling little offspring because they're fucking
SNOWFLAKES) but it's the GUNS fault. An inanimate object acting of it's
own volition? Bullshit.
Sorry, someone up there hit a nerve.
Leave me to my own destruction or success. I don't need their laws to tell
me how to live right, I have my own set. Given to me by my REAL MOMMY, and
by life experiences. Fuck them. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

second of all the date got pushed back to 2012. The sun does change the

And next of all i have found enough knowledge to start a cult.
We are all carbon based which I am sure comes to no surprise but did you
know that carbon has 6 electrons, neutrons and protrons. 666 motha

I think that we are all sperm cells of god.

btw I am really drunk so I prolly suck now but I will explain later.

Ok Shade I dont want to start a fight or anything. Just here me out; from
my point of veiw a hegemony is a group of people making laws and such. So
wouldn't the U.N. be considered a hegemony. If the U.S. had indeed remained
the way it was intened, would you still be against it? Yes I agree that the
U.S. has become twisted, but I hope that one day all things can be
repaired. Yes Shade you are right on many things. Yes I agree with you that
freedom we once knew are disappearing. Look deeper you will find that most
of these "anti-freedom" stances are being pushed into the faces of
government by arrogant people who belive their way is the only way. ____________________ co-worker: "Your gay!?"

from dictionary.co
m
he·gem·o·ny: The predominant influence, as of a state, region, or group,
over another or others.
Basically, there is nothing wrong with Hegemony if you have no reason to
want a personal culture, identity, or rights. The US (as has been stated in
a couple of forums, and Feral's new article) has declared it's
intent to, well, basically take over the world. Let's start at the most
personal level here. Where has the US government attempted to take the most
control? The United States. Now this may seem like a big Duh for everyone,
but our entire freedom system is built very precariously on a few small
cornerstones, one of which is states rights. The right of each individual
state to govern itself based on it's interpretation of the needs of those
who live within its borders.
Since 9/11 and actually before, there have been a number of laws made that
have no reason to exist except to give the DC bunch more power over the
entire nation. The organism of the National government was originally to
give the States one head under which to unite, to handle foreign policy, to
settle problems between states, to enforce the constitution, and to protect
the states from external threats. Now the National government has daclared
themselves to be the ones who can rule on abortion, drugs, guns, sex, and
so much more. The 'freedoms' of which we are so proud are slowly dwindling,
but DC is doing so slowly that we aren't even aware the pot is heating up
around us. We acept each loss as though it will be the last instead of a
stepping stone for the next one.
The other problem with a Hegemony is the way in which it builds it's empire
(As in "...Strikes Back"?), in this case, the US is going in with as many
bombs as possible. Rght now, one of the oldest cities in the world
lies in burning ruins. The world cried out when the bhudda statues were
destroyed by fundamentalists, but they are too afraid of our bombs to say a
thing about the fact that we have nearly reduced Baghdad to rubble. We are
destroying an international treasure and creating an international
atmosphere of fear and betrayal in the name of what? No really, what cause
is there? It can't be to stop it from hapening to us, The Iraqi's can
barely fight back against us on their own home turf.
In this Awe and destruction wave of the war, the US is sending out a world
wide bulletin that says nothing more than "Look how many bombs we have",
"Look what happens to those who do not kneel at our command", "look what
happens to those who do not come over to the darkside." OK, maybe I',
mistaking that last one for another Hegemony, but the argument stands. I
would rather have France, who, in the face of word wide pressure stood up
and said with dignity: "Peace" rather than caving in and frothing:

Okay, there is something definitely a little bit off kilter. Not only are
the Mormons not too concerned with seeing my pentagram necklace, they are
saying they'd enjoy hearing about my beliefs and that's wonderful that my
beliefs have helped me so much and all that. Okay, that was ...well ...just
weird. Until the other day, I'd also not been stopped on the street by
Mormans, but that's changed now apparently. So I took the little card they
handed me and pinned it to the outside of my door on the "leave a note if
you wanna" closepin. I figure that maybe it will signify that they have
been by already. If they wake my ass up again, then I may just put an "X"
over the little card as well, to signify ...well whatever they think it
might signify. I don't have anything against Mormans per se. I have had
Morman friends and acquaintances, but they weren't waking my ass up to
preach at me. ____________________ "When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never

China Ha! Ok they do out number us, but as one of my professors quoted
"they call capitalism- communism with Chinese’s influences." Speaking
about the resent flood of commercialism from Hong Kong when it was given
back to China. Also there population is so large they are having trouble
feeding all their citizens. And I would bet the nation is about to have
another major revolt on their hands, this time with the whole world
watching. To rant further what exactly is wrong with hegemony anyway. It
would be naive to assume nations last forever, and borders are permanent.
Like it or not this is one world, sooner or later this was going to happen.
And I say to China "then what about Tibet?" Saddam is an ugly ass so why
is everyone booing the U.S.; this is a war against Saddam and his army, not
the people of Iraq. ____________________ co-worker: "Your gay!?"

Just to throw more fodderon the fire, in the last two days the US has been
accused of both Neo-imperialism and hegemonism, both by China. In fact,
China is now taking steps to defend themselves against the US movement of
invasion. Umm...This is bloody China, they are bigger than us and now we've
pissed them off? Combine that with N. Korea daying 'Fsck all you all"
they're taking their toys and withdrawing from the armistice that's kept
them peacefull for the last 49 years. All I can say is My vote is for
heading to ground zero and being entirely to sober to miss the pretty
