Ok, Why the hell did that devolve from 'Nick actually having a conversation
that went beyond a bit of a slanging match after the original post' to
'Lets beat on Nick again'?
I can verify that he was 100% accurate with everything he said in his
little intorduce himself bit. with the exception of the 90th percentile.
Sorry dude, i know you got exceptional marks, but i have no idea whether
you were in that group, simply because i have no idea of any cut offs or
anything.

Arthegarn - ok, this is a bit petty, but im feeling like that right now.
the MOST important is a selective few. there are a lot of cultural sites of
importance in many places and i suspect that no one ever has or ever will
visit all of them. the most important however is easily manageable. ____________________

As of late I have seen much hostility. it seems one move can get someone to
react in a way that seems too hostile and to me it looks like SOME(not all)
of those same reactions are without warrant. It starts off with the new guy
writing something that then gets, somehow, misconstrued. Which causes an
argument of some sort. (Now the word "arguement" doesn't necessarily mean
yelling. An argument could mean just a differeence of oppinion, which
results in intelligent discussion and debate.) but then names get called
and the arguement degrades to that of two children arguing over which
pokemon kicks the most ass.
At first i thought it was something that maybe newbys (like myself) have to
go through. You know, pick a fight with the new guy to see what he's really
all about. I thought it would be over after: 1. everyone gets tired of
doing it 2. everyone gets what they were looking for by picking a fight
and/or 3. the new guy leaves.
Now i'm not saying that the new guy is not ever to be the blame. I'm just
saying that in SOME instances maybe there's another way to handle CERTAIN
situations without resorting to hostility.
(i don't know. That's just my oppinion and i know i don't contribute
anything at all and i know i'm not an "us" so i understand if someone feels
that I'm not entitled to have an oppinion.)

I listened to what you had to say Feral, I understood it. However if I am
on trial you cannot make me swear on the Bible if I am not a Christian. It
seems you are the one who has not understood me, but this is niether the
time nor the place to explain it. The focus is changed and it is time to
move on to more important matters.
Arthegarn: I have not had much contact with you, but I am impressed by our
first encounter. You seem well read and well written. From yourfirst
paragraph it seems that we have the same goal on this site, whether it is
conscious or simply a matter of personality. Forgive my obvious rudeness,
for I revert to it only where absolutely necessary. My motive was not to
praise myself, although looking back it may appear so, I simply wished to
recount my deeds for the knowledge and subsequent judgement of others. The
wish to earn respect is admirable, and doing it, moreso. But there are
those whos respect I do not value. More often than not these are the ones
who speak loudest and influence the minds of others. I hope you are not
refering to me when you mention the understanding the other person quip. I
honestly try to consider the other persons standpoint. It scares me
sometimes. It is unimportant how justified you or I feel the hostility
towards me is. Justification is always a personal thing.

I am by your statement that you have visited all Spanish "most important"
cultural sites, considering there are a bloody lot of them and that they
are spread through our geography... Anyway it is poor manners to praise
oneself, let your deeds speak for themselves. Don't demand respect, earn
it.
I am genuinely shocked at the ammount of hostility that some of the older,
wiser members of the Cult display against you. I don't read you as a
terribly, inufferable midwit, I actuallythink you write pretty well, which
is always a mark of a cultured person. I wonder what did you really do to
earn this, and excuse me if I tend to think that my fellow elders must be
right in what they do, they have proven to me they usually are.
And now, all of you. The first rule of meaningful conversation is that the
conversator must make a genunie effort to try to understand what the other
part is trying to communicate instead of merely looking for ways to twist
his argumentation against hir. Unless this is just a battle of wits, if
such is the case let me step back and watch the slaughter...

not what it is intended to be... and there is nothing that I can do to help
that...
I have noticed a very recent change... but think on this... you have been
around long enough to survive a purge... you're join date is indicative of
this... Now... for most of this time... you have just been a pain... I'll
say no more about that... but you cannott expect us to INSTANTLY change our
minds about you when you take a different tack...
For lack of a better word, (or in this case, phrase) your shmeng karma is
an active ledger... it starts at zero... you throw a lot of negatives on
the pile, and it will be negative... and you have a LARGE negative tab to
work through... you have thrown some positive on the pile recently... but
the balance, like a credit card bill, remains... just be glad we don't
charge interest...
if you are changing, hoping for acceptance... keep it up, some will notice
eventually... if you stayed to be a pain... good on ya... but it will be
obvious what your intents are... in time... ____________________
