I am really sick of my job... It makes me want to kill people - Most of
all I just need an escape from what I do. If I had another way to make
money I would do it... I would really just love to meet a Gothic girl to
be around for awhile - ah, F#

First, thereīs ALWAYS "another way" to make money.
Second, many people hate their jobs. Judging from your post, youīre
probably young and have a crappy job, just like we all did when we were
young. Donīt take it serious and try to have some fun. Or, find a
different crappy job to screw around at and have some fun. ____________________

Hey i work in WalMart probably the worst job imaginable, done it for about
a year, found out the secret, every day do a bit of damage, broken glass
here, electrify a fish tank there (enjoyable experience), hey you
want me to dress like the "normal" people, Im gonna keep enjoying the
damage toll, irony is ive been trying to get fired for about 2 months, they
just dont get the hint, anyways back the the point, have fun, who cares how
you do it, if you go about your job doing everything your supposed to be
doing, its gonna suck, have fun if you work at a fast food joint, spit in a
burger or two, retail break stuff, make fun of management, hit a few cars
with shopping carts. well thats pretty much the point of this rant. and
have fun where ever you are, hopefully at the expense of others ____________________

hopefully one without fosh in it. Hopefully the one that is on display and
that every idiot wants to touch and leave greasy finger prints on that the
employees have to wash every 20 minutes. And yes hopefully noone
with a pacemaker sticks there hand in it.... ____________________ Real goths wear silver and crosses to keep the werewolves and vampires

Okay, I will answer Chameleon first - I work as a computer
technician in a small village named Bainbridge. Bainbridge is in southern
Ohio. I fix computers everyday, 40 hours of my week. Iīve been doing it
for over a year and I really dislike it now.
Now, on
to Ickgirl:
If you would help me find another way to
make money I would love you for it.
Yes, you assumed
right, I am young - however events in my life caused me to be very
different from most (if not all) my age. I have worked full time as a
computer technician for a large company - we service 14 different storesī
computers. I canīt have fun here (other than coming to message boards and
getting paid for it when no one is looking ). I have to take my job serious
though to support my family.
And to the anonymous - I
canīt afford to go to a part time job, or move to a job where I make less
than what Iīm making now. There isnīt opportunity around here (the nearest
fast food place is a half and hour away). If I could make money from home,
on my computer, that would be the greatest - however after trying that for
4 years Iīm out of ideas.

I hear ya about how boring work is... and i know how much one shirks off
(guilty as of this moment) but maybe you could start training for a
different job, a different field. Iīm working part-time at this computer
software place. I get paid well ($8 an hour, starting, and Iīm only 16) but
its not what I would want to do for the rest of my life. Think about what
you want to do, and train for it. Also, I fear that this sector of the job
market will close up, since all these schools are pushing kids (like me) to
computer jobs. So get out while you can, I think.
Sorry if Iīm a tad negative... ____________________ Piggy's got the Conch! |

I would train for what I want to do but it wouldnīt do me any good here.
The powers that be keep me living here and my dream career would force me
to move away, far away. I actually got accepted for a job, with the
company Iīve always wanted to work for - but relocation caused me to turn
it down. My only other option is to start my own company - but where will
I find people to work for me? I really donīt want to fix computers for the
rest of my life though... ____________________ When nothing is left - what are you standing on? - Drake of LS

My family is here, and my children are here. It would be selfish of me to
drag them away from their entire family so that I could follow my
dream...
And my dream, well, it may sound silly - but
it has always been to work for a gaming company. I would really love to
work for an online gaming company too (Origin Systems is where I couldīve
went, same way with Destination Games). If others shared my dream close to
me, I would start a company - but I donīt have enough knowledge, skill,
money, and time to do it alone.

Ick... that stinks.
It seems strange to me, however,
as people in my neighborhood are continually moving in and out, even to far
away places.
Maybe you could telecommute? Thereīs
always a shred of a chance you could...
I donīt think
there is much more I can say... Good luck ____________________ Piggy's got the Conch! |

I was hoping for a chance to telecommute with one of the many game
companies - but most of them are "On-site Teams" and they donīt want
someone who canīt be there with them, face-to-face.
Thanks for the luck.

I think it would be great if you started your own gaming company. Ohio
needs more fun stuff like that (even if you are at the other end of the
state from me). Youīd be surprised how many closet gamers there are...we
just come out of the woodwork
Relocation for jobs is both good and bad. I can say this
because Iīve moved 12 times with my family in order for my father to follow
his job. Itīs certainly helped me to grow as a person. I think moving is
okay, even good, when itīs in moderation. But when you canīt even make
friends before you have to go... thatīs too hard on a kid. Maybe your kids
wouldnīt mind moving once. Have you asked them?
And
I have no pity for angst-ridden Wally World employees that have to take it
out on defenseless FISH for crying out loud!! And keep away from my car
with your shopping carts! ____________________

Nah man...you may hate your job, but I garan-fricking-tee mines worse in
so many ways. Crammed on a leaky boat, in the middle of nowhere, everyone
around you is obligated by LAW to push you around and make you feel like a
worthless, ugly piece of trash...and then, to make it even worse, your
expected to kiss ass, work perfectly and do everything your told before
your superiors thinkabout it...yes, the US Navy hell...And the only pay off
is low wages, and port call...where you go out, get drunk and screw as many
people as possible...actually...now that I really really think about
it...yeah...your job does suck man...ouchie. Kepp your grit though man,
there isnīt anything a determined dark hearted badass canīt suffer through
and come out shining. And when it really hits, do what I do to take off
some steam...fire a forty milimeter at fleeing villagers...it does
wonders... ____________________ In the valley of the Goats, the Goat Fucker is King |

So thatīs why that healer guy was so happy when you went bezerk... Heīd
rather you blow off steam breaking his furniture than destroy his
village... It all clicks now!
And secondly... starting oneīs own gaming company is
hard... really really hard. Just pick up some gaming mag and see how many
different games and different companies are advertised... Those are 75
percent of the competition. Thereīs many more...
But
get connections... Date a girl that works at a job you like... go to a
company headquarters to deliver a pizza and *discover* that the head exec
is your long-lost brother...
And I hate walmart.... ____________________ Piggy's got the Conch! |

Ya, I used to have a crappy, unappreciated job being a MCSE, keeping the
network, VPNīs, and workstations going. Finally I had enuff and started
working for myself rehabbing homes. Now, I work a helluva lot more hours
and love every minute of it. WHY? Because when I resell the house and it
profits well, I make more money. If I slack off and donīt do as good a
job, the house doesnīt sell for as much. BUT I FAIL OR SUCCEED DIRECTLY
FROM MY EFFORTS.

I wouldnīt worry how interesting the job is. Just get something that pays
alot of money and then have fun when your off. I plan on working as a
computer engineer or technician and open up a store that sells different
things that Iīve always wanted but was hard to find such as quality dragon
statues, clothes, accessories, etc. the stuff that isnīt common. I might
even design some things to satisfy me. . But now I have no job since there
arenīt any openings anywhere ____________________ Why build if destruction is only to come? |

I feel for you. I have worked in shitty places, I had a few random pizza
place jobs, but mostly I worked in factories, and I fucked my back up when
I was 18, blah blah blah...work sucks, but I swear, if you keep trying, it
does get better ____________________ this is your world in which we grow and we will grow to hate you |
