1 Take a cage full of ten monkeys with a banana suspended from the ceiling
and a ladder up to it.
2 When a monkey climbs and reaches the banana spreay all the other monkeys
with high pressure water. After this happens a few times the monkeys will
attack any other who tries to climb the ladder to avoid the hose.
3 Replace one of the monkeys. When it tries to climb the ladder the others
will attack it as per usual. It won't know why it was attacked.
4 Replace another monkey, when it tries to get the banana it will be
attacked. The first replacement monkey will join in the attack with the
others but will not have experienced the watercannon.
5 One by one replace all the monkeys eventually the monkeys will all be
replaced and none will have received the hose. They will still attack any
which tries to get the banana. None will know why.
This is something that has interested me since i first read it. It bears an
awful lot in common to my old school rules and many of those of society, in
my opinion at least. What do other people think?

fucking point of this thread??
Now bear with me, I have a theory... I think you like to hear your keyboard
rattle... do some reading... then come back, perhaps you will learn how we

don't remember asking you to do that... I was being kind... and attempting
to educate before you ended up suffering...
if, indeed, you are not addadon or bane... then you may want to put an
expositionary statement at the end of your post... otherwise you are just
dumping an unusual fact on us

the problem is that you cant hear a tone of voice online i think. for this
reason you cannot always tell sarcasm, and sincerity can be confused when,
as is the case now, a straighforward response will often be delivered in a
biting tone, so because i have been confrontational in the past it is
understandably expected, from context, that i will be again so you
automatically put a sarcastic filter on what i said.

You could cut the atmosphere here with a knife. Everybody talking in subtle
metaphors, thinking they know more than everybody else. I wonder who really
does know what they're talking about? Then again, I think, sod it. These
poepl won't change. I've been coming on and off to this site for years.
People retain their immaturities whether they are pointed out to them or
not. I am just glad it is comfined to the online world. I can't imagine
your petty bickering and anger for anger's sake can ever be construed in
the real world as anything more than the product of personal insecurities
and a feeble attepmt to assert what little individuality you have. I see,
every time I post, that you are quick to reply with some kind of one
upmanship statement. I cannot impress upon you how unimportant everything I
say is. Your constant assertions that I am too insignificant to respond to
is at odds to the permanent attitude of offensive retorts to the most
trivial of suggestions. I wish I could relieve you of the burden of hatred
you carry with you, but it seems too ingrained in your psyche,
unfortunately. These discussions on the topics of politics or morals should
not elicit such heart felt replies. If the people who posted their thoughts
were really so adament about the implementation of their ideals, they would
be politicians already. These overly argumentative comments are merely the
product of an opinionated attitude formed at such time as I am not aware in
the development of the child's personality. I am by no means implying that
this necessarily alternative way of thinking is a defect of any kind, I am
simply stating that there is a reason subcultures do not intermingle
easily. It is a difference of egos which manifests itself in a difference
of attitude and opinion. This grouping together of similar attitudes makes
it easier for traditions i.e. fashion, views on specific subjects to spread
and become universally accepted amongst such an aformentioned section of
society. In summation of point that have been raised here, and some that
have not, I will say this: Your opinion is of no consequence, the facts you
hold true are based on a set of unfounded laws, and should not be relied on
as a starting point for impressing ones opinion upon others. Nothing
anybody else says can ever hurt you, and it never will. It is not attacking
you soul, it is attacking you ego, and the less of that you have the less
you will feel uncomfortable when another seems to assert their superiority
over you. There are three types of people, those who think themselves the
same, those who think themselves better, and those who nknow that however
hard they try to be better, all men are equal. I fully expect retorts as to
questioning the validity of my arguments here stated and the seeming
hypocracy inherent in several stages of my argument. If you raise these
point, to which you are most entitles, I have failed to change anything and
my thoughts and aspirations for a better mode of conversation will have
fallen on deaf ears and itself become food for a trail of inherently
negative opinions. I fear the latter. But mine is the reasoning of limited
experience and, though no less valid, comes with the cost of a lack of
belief on the behalf of others. I will leave you with a quote, as is my
frequent want. It is not referenced as you will have picked up that thius

past I've tried having discussions with you, and I KNOW I've seen others
try it too, but since you seem to want nothing to do with an actual
discussion, why cry about it when nobody bothers anymore? You kind of put

What I don't get is, why do these people who hate the very way we interact,
and the way we think, and the way we express ourselves, and the way we
choose our companionship, WHY do they even bother to come here? At least
we have the excuse that the guy who made the website likes us, and may even
be a personal friend. We may be narrow-minded bitches with chips on our
shoulders, but we seem to enjoy it, and each other, anyway.
But why are you here? No one likes you, you like no one, you admit
yourself that your posts have no meaning. So the only reasons you come
here must be to irritate us, and amuse yourself by stirring up a stink
among the ill-tempered. Damn, what admirable reasons! I mean, they are so
much better than ours!

I know, frustrating, isn't it? I mean, of course you should be allowed to
visit someone else's webspace and berate the set-up, and the inhabitants,
and all that, and they should love you and accept you for it! I mean, it's
here for your pleasure, isn't it?
If you think about it, if you were at Devin's house as a guest instead of
his website, you'd have been asked to leave very quickly if you acted the
same way, and if you didn't leave, the police would probably be called, and
you'd possibly end up with a restraining order. And then you could
complain to your cell-mates about those stuck-on-themselves, mean,
close-minded bastards at Devin's house.
The same laws don't apply to a website, it seems, but the principles of
social interaction remain the same. If you come to someone else's area,
you do things their way, or unpleasantness will occur.
And I still can't understand - if you really see us as such closed-minded,
pretentious, irritable balloon-heads, why bother with Shmeng? Do you think
you will somehow say the magic words that will change us into reasonable,
accepting human beings? Or do you just like the mental exercise of
interminably pointing out to us how much we suck?
If you are really searching for a kind of intellectual open-mindedness that
you cannot find here, why don't you search elsewhere, or even create your
own area where you can associate with the people who value the things you
value?
Unless you just like going around to other people's websites to irritate
them and point out all their faults. Which, in my book, is far lower than
sitting in your own website (or the website of a friend) and picking on the
irritating people who come to you. However small-minded and petty either
of them may be.
And that's not even taking into account the far-fetched notion that maybe
*gasp* MAYBE we might actually have a valid bitch with the likes of you and
Wormwood, and others of your ilk. Which, if true, would bring you from the
low position of mere internet troll, to mere, shmeer whiner. "You mean you
don't liiiiiiiiike me, and don't acceeeeeeeeeept me? Ooooooooooh you
Hooooooorible Clooooooooosemiiiiiiiinded peeeeeeeeeeeeople! Who don't like
