Other times you prove you have much to learn. You may sandwich yourself between any of the other siblings to find your place here. You are a Shmeng child. Devin: Dad. Seems to be absent from your life, only seeing him here or there. The house you live in, the shelter you are given all from somewhere. You may not notice now, but later on in you life you will understand what mom was saying over and over again. "Have some respect! You father works so that you can graduate kindergothen and become a person someday. He works day and night because he loves you! All you have to do is some chores and posts and give him a break! He needs your help sometimes. And do a good job when you do it! All I have been seeing lately is half ass work and little of it..." ‘Blah blah blah’ is all you hear. He sees your ignorance too, yet he holds back. He remembers what is what like when he was your age. He loves you. Bettie_x: Mom. She always seems to be yelling at you, or giving lectures about her life gone wrong. Ranting and rambling. You don't want to hear it. You say "Yesssss, I know!......." acting like you truly understand where she was coming from in the pissiest way possible, hoping she will stop nagging. Later however, you do it anyway, hoping that nothing bad will come like she warned. You may not know this now but she knows all. She has been there. Before you were born, she has lived a life that would shock you and make you say "Mom did what?". Listen to her, she speaks wisdom. She isn't angry at you, she is angry at the world for being such painful abyss her children could get sucked into. She isn't nagging, she is pleading. She loves you. Callei: Your big sister. The most popular girl in school, however it happened naturally, she did not put on a face to please the masses into liking her. On the path she is on, she will be valedictorian at her school. She does lots of school work, but always seems to have time for fun. Yes, it happens. You get in fights with her, she makes fun of your friends, and she always gets the hot guys. But she covers for you when you make mistakes on your chores (posts), so mom won't see it and give you that disappointed look. She never makes you feel like you can't live up to her high standards as a person or a student. She is brilliant and probably always going to be better than you in most things, but she believes you can be much better than her. She thinks so highly of you. She loves you. Shade: Callei's boyfriend. By far the most attractive and intellectual guy in school, which is typical of Callei's high standards and good taste. When you try to talk to him, you always end up saying something that embarrasses you, and makes him give you that weird look. You know that look. It makes you put your head in your pillow at night and say "OOOH! I am so stupid! Why did I say that?!" Of course you know he will never be your boyfriend, but there is no sense in looking bad or stupid in front of an attractive guy, so you always try to be perfect on the rare occasions he notices your existence. Ickgirl: Your older sister's Best friend. Always around, making the whole house happier. She is gorgeous (you are bisexual), and wonder at the same time if you can be with someone like her, or be pretty like her. She helps Callei with her chores around the house, because she loves the company, work seems effortless to her. She always has nice thing to say to you, and it makes you smile. Everything she touches and cleans around the house makes it prettier, as if it were to compliment her. Meranda_Jade and Rogue: Auntie Jade and uncle Rogue. You Love going over their house on three day weekends. Auntie Jade is earthy and lovely. She is always cooking something organic, and smiling in the act. She gives the best compliments; compliments that leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy for the rest of the day. Uncle Rogue is quiet, yet not in personality. He has a reading room with more books than you can count, and you assume that because of all the post-its on the backs with references and page numbers, he has read them all. Scary is his knowledge. You wonder where he has gotten all the time for this extensive reading. Comedian: Your cousin: You don't see him that often, but when you do he is saying the funniest things. You like spending time with him. He is good crude company. Cashmere: The little sister. Always talking to uncle Rogue. They talk endlessly about things you sometimes can't even understand. She is taking after Callei. She gets along with Dad, Callei, and everyone else in the family more than you. But that's ok, she will never leave you out, talking with her is always easy, and she makes time for people regardless of her duties. SindelChaos: The poster on your wall. Mara: Your creepy Haitian neighbor that invites herself to sunbathe in your backyard. She used to quote the bible as she threw lemons at you if you came near her chicken coop. TheOneWastedChick: The girl at school you had that really intellectual conversation with. You hope to meet her again. Sticupus: Cashmere's friend, he is always over. Very strange, he wrote "Glory hole" in permanent marker around that hole on the wall in the bathroom. You wonder what it means. Ironboots: The guy in who lives in the house that you thought was haunted as a child. He doesn't come out of his house much. Gothy: the picture on Cashmere's dresser. Sometimes turned facedown. Dolorosa and MorteAscendo: Friends of Callei's. "Roommates"... yeah right. So many others have come into your house, and many leave and don't come back. Too many friends of your own and of the families to count. Vampcourt, Feralucce, Litho, Closetgothbabe, Monolycus, xaoswolf, DevilBunny, IamSquid, Ianthe99............... So many that if any are neglected, it is ok, for they all have done something to influence and shape the Shmeng house. You will find their essence everywhere. Look around again.
