Last time you heard from me on this topic, I didn’t really care – Fine, I said, post your damn poetry. But, people….I must inform you, it’s become a fucking epidemic. Every day I look at the submissions and its 75% poetry. Why? Because long ago Devin and I realized that people were submitting poems, and to be honest, we didn’t want to put them on the front page, so he made a separate column for it. We thought, ok, no big deal, we’ll just stuff the poetry over there, keep people happy…you get the idea. I’ve come to realize, poetry isn’t something we can do in moderation. It’s like heroin, or coffee. Now, maybe you’re thinking “what’s wrong with poetry?” Nothing. But what IS wrong is that this site, which was constructed as a means to discuss the shmeng we all face in our lives, has become a forum for adolescent poetry (and let’s not forget the “I’m hotter than she is” girldrama)... While we’re on the topic of irritation…what the fuck is up with this site becoming a place to “cruise?” Hopefully Callei set everyone straight on this issue. One of the really great things about this site is that it was different from other sites; a place to discuss a wide variety of shmengy shmeng. Now it’s become a hideous concoction of “amihotornot.com” and whiny teen poets. That’s it! KNOCK IT OFF DAMMIT! We've all had enuf.
