Lame Halloween/Lame land Date Friday, April 26, 2024 - 05:29 PM PST Topic Whining This is about me being pissed like hell at Romania. Another year has passed by and another Halloween missed because of this shitty mentality we have to deal with, or I have to deal with, cause nobody in this UN forsaken country seems to care. I know it's not a traditional Romanian holiday, but still, so many other countryes adoped it, cause they at least have some perspective as to what makes people content. I thought there was going to be something special planned by our beloved mayor, since in the past year he has put together some surpisingly good events such as "The Bucharest festival 2001", which was at least a shot for our unknown metal bands to proove themselves, as was "The Beer Fest". Other events were planned and carried out with succes, to please everyone. Aparently, not everyone. I'm aware of the fact that there isn't much to our Goth scene, but still, Halloween isn't only about that. More over, I didn't expect to see trick or treaters, or mind blowing decorations on every door, but just some recognision of the fact that it was indeed HALLOWEEN. We have one Mall, one in all Bucharest, and I gotta' hand it to them, they were great. It was the only place that got close to what it should have been like all over. Some years ago, there was a bit of scandal about Romania celebrating Halloween, because the old people considered that it would ruin our traditions. What traditions are those? Aside from X-Mas, New years and Easter (of course, religious celebrations) all we get is the national day, the first of december (which is also the international AIDS day…coincidence?…) and we don't even do anything, it's just an excuse for everyone to skip work or school. But it was okay with those whinning oldies for every televison to organize some kind of lame show and go all out on Valentine's Day, wasn't it? What is it? Are they hopeing that their looser niece or daughter will find someone to share the rest of their pathetic lifes with? On TV?! What, is that some kind of a half an hour fame thing? Everyone thinks these people are pathetic, but they just don't seem to get it. Just like bringing 7 year olds on stage, to recite some kiddie poem, get a doll or some toy and crackers and then cry a little cause they're so scared by the big bad camera… But I'm going off subject. At least my friend and I treated ourselfs to dressing up and scarring old ladies. We were the only people that dressed up without being paid for it. But we just ended up having a beer at the only decent metalclub that exists here. I thought there was going to be at least some progress, seeing that our government was beginning to show a bit of interest towards our young society, but again I was disspointed, like usual. I don't even know why I'm doing this to myself, every year, it's the same thing over and over. Okay, don't you find this the least strange, seeing as this is after all Dracula's Land and the home of Elizabeth Bathory a.k.a. "The Blood Countess"????????
