Very very very... BULLSHIT!!! Date Friday, April 19, 2024 - 06:26 AM PST Topic Lemmings on Parade Warning: This piece is a rant... The events mentioned HAVE happened here... so... relax and realize I am just pissed about EVERYONE.... Recently... I posted a lot of work on here and in a couple of other places... prose, poetry, essays, art... all of it... And for every goddamn piece, I have gotten some kind of response that compares me to someone else... Dahli, Dennis Miller, George Carlin... but FUCK people... why do I always have to resemble someone esle when I do something that is fresh and original? This not to say that I am not flattered by the comparison... but my work is my work... it does not need to be related to someone else's work to have any artistic or visible meaning ... PERIOD end of story... The part that really annoys is that I am being compared to someone else. My stuff... has obivious references, and attributes that can be seen in other people's work... But are we so soaked in popular culture that something new that uses some of the same references has to be compared to someone elses work that also used those references? It seems that every person's work should be weighed on its own merit. I mean I submit a picture that has dark markings on the eyes and has a bird. Do we automatically have to compare it to O'barr?
