I was with this guy for 8 years. He had bought me a rune ring that stands
for health. It matched his ring exactly. We both wore them on our right
ring finger and people often thought they were wedding rings.
We broke up last April and when things started going really badly, I had to
take off the ring. I just couldn't keep it on my finger. I would find that
I had taken it off without knowing it and just dropped it. Happened all the
time. I would suddenly notice I wasn't wearing it and then find it on the
coffee table or by my computer where I had removed it without knowing.
Keep in mind that I wore this ring for so long that it took months for the
crease on my finger to go away. This is one of my favorite rings which is
why he bought it for me. I want to be able to wear it again.
So I have tried saging it and salting it and it still feels yuck. I showed
it to a friend of mine and she held it for a second, got a sick look on her
face and dropped the ring.
What more can I do to make the ring wearable or am I going to have to
destroy it. |

I had a ring like that once. I had to destroy it. It had all sorts of
badness associated with it. it's sad that it happens to be a favorite, but
sometimes letting go is the only way. Things got better for me after I did
go ahead and destroy it. I don't know of anything that could make it
wearable again... If I think of something I'll let you know. ____________________

I have a ring like that. It was a three year relationship, and I stopped
wearing the ring in the year we were seperated. Even though we got back
together, I can't really wear the ring anymore. It's just too much of what
we were, and what happened, and It doesn't feel right anymore. I still keep
it, I just don't wear it.
Your ring is much more...negative. If you've tried the usual deep cleaners,
and it still stinks of the bad, you're going to have to get rid of it. It
just wouldn't be a healthy thing to have hanging around. ____________________ Okay, dazzle me. |

I, too, had a similar ring... my suggestion would either be get rid of it,
or, if you can't bring yourself to do that, put it in a "safe place" in a
small box or bag that you rarely go near and that would not affect the
energy around you.
My first instinct would be to get rid of it, however. ____________________ Being Passionate is the only way to survive |

I heard a story once about a guy who had a ring like that. He got it from
his uncle. The ring was so fucked up he had to take it clear across Mordor
and dump it in the fires of Mt. Doom. And he was just a little guy.
Just be thankful your ring isn't that fucked up. ____________________ So Sayeth Me |

I am curious... is this more an emotional response or a psychic one?

My favorite ring has that sort of history. It's a garnet that my boyfriend
bought me the first summer we were together. When we broke up at
halloween, I buried it in a graveyard at midnight (I know, how typically
goth, etc., but it felt right!) and it stayed there all winter until April,
when the issues that caused our breakup were resolved. I dug it up again,
washed it off, and wore it up until just recently. Now I wear it on a cord
around my neck, because I have a tattooed ring now that represents the new
aspects of our stronger, healthier relationship. But I can't part from the
garnet, because it was the painful past that brought me to where I am
now.
When a ring or other piece of jewelry becomes deeply connected with a
relationship, it often takes on characteristics of that relationship. My
love for my boyfriend was buried inside me for a while, and I considered it
dead. So I felt a corresponding urge to bury my ring. When that love was
reborn, I found the ring again.
If you connect your ring with your relationship, as it seems obvious you
do, then you will need to do with it what you did with your relationship.
Otherwise, those things that led you to break up will linger with you.
I am sure that it was hard for you to give up your 8 year relationship too.
I am sure you wanted to keep it, but it just made you feel "yuck". But
you had to let it go, and you will need to do this with the ring, too.
And just as a new relationship can come (or an old one be renewed), so can
a new ring, or other talisman come to your life to fill the void created by
the loss of the old. But the new will not come until you release the old.
It's OK to mourn your ring, just as you mourned your love. I know it is
not fun. But I think you will find that it will help you progress in the
healing process, and rid you of the nasty vibes. ____________________ "You can tell by the scars on my arms and the cracks in my hips and the

Definately a psychic one. I don't really have alot of emotions left for
him. It has been a year and though we dated very seriously and I was his
live in bdsm slave for five of the eight years I have pretty much gotten my
closer.
I don't even look at the ring and think of him. As far as I'm conserned it
is my ring but something negative clings to it that isn't me. |

bury it in salt under the stars, by the new moon... tradiditional...
Alternately... an over night soak in water, clear glass wrapped in black
cloth, and allow it to sit on the sill in the sunlight... change the water
every day , do this for a week...

Thank you. I'll give it one last try before I give up the ring for good. |

nono... in salt... for a month... in a bowl... salt, as stated in the old
traditional beliefs, was the hadn of the divine... it will solve most
negativity problems... if that does not do it... I know many more ... they
get more involved as you go on... now... is the neativity being sent at you
currently? if so... there are steps that need to be taken to change
that...

Yeah.. I tried just salt by itself but didn't put it in the sun and I was
still in my old apartment which held alot of his negative presence since he
had spent alot of time there and helped me "break the place in" hehe. Now
I'm in a new place and there is no trace of him here. I should try again
and do it longer in the sun as you suggested.. thanks. |

When my girlfreind and I broke up she gave me back the ring I proposed to
her with. For a while I would take it out and just stare at it...I was
really careful with it. Then one day it dissapeared and I haven't seen it
since. So I hope you can find a way to keep it, because it's not just a
symbol of bad times, it's also a symbol of the good times.
I saw your site.....the pictures are great. |
