Happy New Year Shmeng!
Anyone making New Years resolutions? Did you actually keep the ones you
made last year?
I think last year I resolved to be more confident, and am ashamed to admit
that I didn't keep it. This year I think I shall forego the resolutions,
and just try and be a good little girl. *snort* ____________________

I still got four hours to go here on the west coast... Though I could
really care less. New Years day is such an arbitrary date, I could care
less.

Getting back to the original topic, though, I've resolved to heal and stop
living in the past. I'm also going to try to trust my instincts more,
while tempering them with common sense.
I've also got to cut out the caffeine as much as possible. I hate working
the damned day shift.

New Years may be nothing more than another trip round the sun, but it's
always nice to have an excuse to get together with friends and cut loose a
bit. I really enjoyed this New Years, especially cause when the clock
turned twelve and everyone started cheering you could really feel the vibe
in the club and everyone was feeling good. It was nice, and true to my
inescapably perky reputation I shall be quite happy to wish people a great
new year!  ____________________

Eh pixi don't let the humbugs smother your nature! I'm glad you had a good
new year's. I, for the first time in about 10 years) SLEPT through new
year's. I think I konked out about 11 pm, but I didn't really have any
booze, I wasn't wanting to go anywhere and told nobody to bother me. I
spent last night in the tub with a book I got for xmas (steven king's dark
tower 5 baby ooo yeah!) and then in bed.
It's the mentality of a "new year" that appeals to people, that the old one
with all it's garbage and baggage is GONE and you can start fresh with a
somewhat clean slate. And yes, it's a way of making an excuse to get drunk
and kiss those you love (or WANT to love) and celebrate. I don't see
anything wrong with people using any excuse they can to forget all their
crap and be happy, even if it's only until that big stupid ball in times
squares hits the platform.
AS FOR THOSE DEVIL RESOLUTIONS:
I thought about it good and hard, and tho I don't ever really make or keep
them, I decided on two. One big and necessary, the other small and will
make me feel better.
1) give up and put a knife through the heart of my love affair with
niccotine. I'm not going cold tofu (*rimshot*) but I've cut back before
from a pack a day to 4 a day with a bag of jolly rancher's in my purse.
This cigarette I'm smoking right now is from the last pack of "real"
cigarettes I'm going to try not to buy, I'm switching over to light cloves.
It's not the niccotine that's addicting to me, I can go for hours and
hours without one, but it's the love of the act of smoking that's doing me
in. I figure a nice sweet low niccotine cigarette will be the ticket. I'm
not being delusional, I'm going to give it a good solid try. I'm just sick
of spending money on something that gives me nothing to show for it but a
gravely voice in the morning.
2) starting yoga. I bought a yoga tape last year, and I watched it once,
tried it once, and then decided that since I cant do it with a cigarette in
my hand it was pointless. I'm achy, inflexible, have no energy, and out of
shape but LOATHE exercise in all it's hiddeous torturous forms, but DID
enjoy the 30 min of that tape I did do and felt GREAT afterwards. But I
never touched it again.
and I just came up with a third:
3) getting my shit together. I like the job that I got last month, but
let's face it, it's only getting me by. Granted I'm not miserable anymore,
but I don't want to get sucked back into the quasi miserable/comfortable
retail vortex again. This is the year that I start thinking of what it
want to do with my life, what I'm capable of, and how I go about getting
there. If I have to go back to school, then back to school I go.
That's it, I think those are reasonable goals, and I might fail and I might
succeed, it makes no difference to me  ____________________

I'm glad that 2003 is over - it's been Hells. Two dogs died, a bunch of
relatives died, and so on...along with the bike wreck and some other
issues...*cuts it there*
What to do for 2004...hm...as always, I strive to continue trying to
perfect myself. I've exhibited willpower by losing a lot of weight (I
needed to, I was unhealthy a year and a half ago), learned more about
different cultures, learned some diplomacy, improved on my grammar, and
well...am learning how to take care of myself since I moved out a year
early.
So, what will I do for 2004...hmm: finish school and continue to get good
grades; try to be a bit -more- optimistic, but not necessarily fluffy bunny
(just not mopey-Chrissy either); try to improve more on my grammar; much,
much more. Either way, the main goal is to try to perfect myself more...so
one thing out of the way will be a bigger step to one of my life-time
goals.
Welp, that covers it for now. Sorry if I seemed to ramble too much.

i have nothing against the new year save for the fact that it is nothing
more than an excuse to drink, at least everywhere I have lived... the
resolution thing... why wait to improve oneself?

I refuse to make resolutions, for they shall be broken if made. I do plan
to and will find a job, I do plan to and will move to Seattle after
graduation this year, and I do plan and will be happy and get myself laid
by the hottest boy in the world. Oh, and I will go on Spring break to
either Hawaii or Seattle.

New Years= fireworks, lots of fireworks..
I resolve to by 10x the ammount of fireworks I did last fourth of july.
Provided I can get another job shortly and get enough money to buy that
many fireworks. I'll have my own little explosion extravaganza every
holiday.. ____________________
