"Well, you ask me if I'll forget my baby
I guess I will some day
I don't like it but I guess things happen that way
You ask me if I'll get along
I guess I will some way
I don't like it but I guess things happen that way
CHORUS:
God gave me that girl to lean on,
Then he put me on my own
Heaven help me be a man
And have the strength to stand alone
I don't like it but I guess things happen that way
You ask me if I'll miss her kisses
I guess I will every day
I don't like it but I guess things happen that way
You ask me if I'll find another
I don't know, I can't say
I don't like it but I guess things happen that way"

There is an irony to this. It sadly fits his new song/video "hurt" (same as
NIN). In the video June made a couple of apperances. Im really wishing I
could remember the words to it right now. ____________________ co-worker: "Your gay!?"

There are a lot of songs of his (covers or not) that seem so much more
ultimately sad now that she's gone, as his whole life and heart were
devoted to that woman.
When I first heard his cover of "hurt" the reason it struck me so hard was
because it didn't come off as whiny angsty trent-on-a-trip-again, but as
the last moments in the long hard life of an old man reviewing his life,
for good or bad, and making peace with it all. That whole album has a
sense of someone coming to terms with a long hard life, one that is nearly
at it's end. As horrible as it is to think this, I don't think he'll be
far behind her. Some people just don't live without each other, and the
elderly tend to go right after their spouse does. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

There's truth in that...two halves of a whole. One needs the other to exist
fully. Safe journeys to wherever she's passed on to...and who
knows...perhaps she is near him still...watching and waiting. ____________________ "When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never
