Having a grumpy parent who´s bitter about his job can´t be too much fun for
the kids either. Lots of children live a long way from their grandparents
&c. It´s not the worse thing in the world. Maybe they´d enjoy a change of
scenery too? As nocta said, have you asked them?
I
suppose instead of taking it out on the poor little fishies, you´ll have to
torment the mice? *wince*
I wish you much luck anyway.

I am not sure I agree with the whole destruction of property thing. Fine
you hate your job, so you disappear out the back door to have a smoke, or
you fuck off when no one is looking, that doesn´t hurt anyone, but
electrifing live animals, or damaging peoples cars? I think that is a bit
immature, find less destructive ways to vent your frustration

hmmm. Might give you an idea of what you put them through too...lol...just
kidding
I´ve had lots of crappy jobs and bosses, but
having worked management positions, I can say it´s not easy.
Unfortunately, most bosses do not work (hard or at all it seems) and have
no clue as to how to inspire people the correct way. They think that
belittling and cutting people down works for some reason (it does not). I
tend to work harder if the boss treats me like a human, is not afraid to
work themselves, and rewards me for hard work.
ps - my
job sucks too, but after being laid off, it´s nice to have a paycheck.
Now, back to "work"....

When the sign says closed the station is closed. Dont wait in your car
looking at the poor gas attendant who came to work 30 minutes early just so
she dont hafto rush. Dont say you dint know it was closed because the sign
says CLOSED. When the sign gets flipped to the side it says open, the
station is open. Youve been comming to the same station for years now.
Dont come 10 minutes after it closes, act all shocked to hell that it
closes at 830pm follow the poor gas attendant down the road and ask to open
shop again cause you forgot to come earlier. Then leave without atleast
saying thanks or maybe EVEN leaving a small tip in appreciation. When the
big 4 foot sign says PAY DEBIT HERE, dont ask "do you take debit?" When
the signs Infront of your nose says "Airmiles when you buy 20$ or more of
gas" dont ask, "You do airmiles? yeah? good, put in 15."
Chit chat about the weather is only good until 12 noon. Dont get
frustrated when we ask you to wait because that person was waiting before
you. Dont sit there and argue about cigarette prices when We have a line
up of cars.
Why do you insist on pumping your own fucking gas when its nice outside,
but barely crack your window an inch when its just a little nippy?
Dont LEAVE without making SURE we are out of the way and your fucking GAS
CAP back on!
At the end of the day, have a little sympathy and do your own fucking
windshield you lazy bastards.
Love
Hericane

well let me just say that working for someone else is ALOT better than
workinbg for someone you live with.
ok so i dont have a car so i cant go out and get a job.. i work for my
parents and its alot worse than working for someone i dont know.. at least
at the end of the day you get to go home and not have your "boss" saying
you didnt do your job right..
i make sure things stay running around here but if i forget something i get
it twice as bad (spically cuz i can just quit and they wont just fire
me..)
anyways if you could deal with it when you went into the buisness and it
got worse there must have been something to keep you there other than money
cuz its not that hard to go out and at least apply for other jobs
well.. all i can say is try your hardest and youll get through it..
and hell if you can drive take advantage of it.. take a break from your
job and just go somewhere and relax for a while when yu get all fed up
just say youll be right baqck and like smack cement (but dont damage
yourself..)
good luck

Okay, I live in Dayton and work in Columbus at a job that is okay but not
the kind of jobs I had in Denver and Boulder. Since it´s my turn to be the
asshole, let me just say that you need to figure out what you want above
all else and then go get it with no excuses. If you want to live in
Bainbridge you´re already there so you´re set. If you want to do gaming,
find a way. Do it on your own if you have to, join a project at
sourceforge, or just keep looking for something near enough to fit your
geography. Personally, it was worth moving 1200 miles west for the jobs I
had, and it was worth moving back when the market went belly-up and before
the yearly fires started. And yes, there are a lot of gamers and people
who want to work for game companies but don´t know where any are, doing
exactly what you are doing and maybe working on their own projects. Not
sure how your motivation to achieve this stacks up against your motivation
to stay in your present location, but it would help if you could rank your
priorities and start nailing them down in ascending order. There, now I´ve
been the asshole and you can hate me if you like, but I´d be glad to
discuss with you further if you like, and I´d wager we have some others on
this board who would as well.

Whoring yourself to woodland creatures is a good way around the whole
"work" thing. Man...those beavers...oooh baby.

Nothing
like being screwed in the ass over and voer huh?!?! I absolutely hate my
job too ! I work at Taco Hell ! This is not bragging , but I'm the only one
who does the job as good as it needs to be done . I wish I didn't have such
a good work ethic in me. All my managers put soo much freakin'
responsibility on me. I should be getting paid for being a damn manager ,
but I'm not. I'm getting overworked and underpaid like 85% of the workforce
today , and YES I really do want to kill people sometimes...Anybody got a
knife?!?!?

Ack. *switching em.*
Work sucks but what are you going to do? To live is to consume/produce.
That's the "dream" and reality.
