PoeticChaos, simple name , complex meaning. My friends and i were sitting
around one day and were just kinda of thinking (that can be dangerous with
us). So we decided to make up nicknames based on our attitudes,
personalities and interests. So my interest in poetry and want for constant
entertainment was part of it. The other part was that i view the world as a
chaotic and painful place that has severe undertones of beauty. Thus,
Poetic Chaos became my nickname and has stuck for almost three years now.
But Raven'sMuse and BloodStorm call me Chaos for short. ____________________

DarkMistress because it was a spur of the moment thing. However some of my
other usernames varied tremendously, not here of course but on messengers.
GloominousD00m, Dwarven13, etc. I'll probably change my current screen
name on AIM soon because I'm tired of it. Oh Kat, we nicknamed my friend
Leslie BatCat on Halloween when she had a Batman’s mask and a cattail
sticking out of her pants. ____________________ "Pity no one was there

Hmmm...the origin of this username with a breif addiction to a game my
brother got me hooked on. I'm sure some of the game people out there know
of which game I speak. As for why I chose to use it? I was always
interested in biology, I happen to like the dark(creepy, freaky, odd), I
paniced and grasped the frist thing that came to mind. Not as original as
some of the others I use. ____________________ co-worker: "Your gay!?"

PrismKat is from a book series I used to really love.. The prism cat
existed just to cause mass confusion for it's own amusement.. Voila. I am
always confused. It spreads to pretty much everyone around me. It's
entertaining. ____________________ I'm defective! |

Actually, typos are a great way to come up with usernames, I think. and
books, but I always think that going by a book name would be kinda silly...
for me anyway.... ____________________ It's like kegel exercises for your throat.~Monolycus |

The reason for my name is pretty straightfoward - my dad is a diagnosed
paranoid schizophrenic. I used to be ashamed of that, but a few years ago
I decided that I was going to be proud of it, along with the other bizarre
and painful parts of my upbringing. I used to go by Phrenia, but then I
decided I liked Schizo better. Short, simple, and meaningful. |

Arthegarn, I always wondered how you got your name. I like Aragorn too.
Grew up reading Tolkien. Did you read it in English or a Spanish
translation? |

the reasons for my nick are rather simple.
ravinsaend.
ravin - I like ravens. personally I think they're about the most gorgeous
birds there are.
saend - I don't like being simple. it's simply a new and different way to
spell sand. I was staring at the sand along the banks of the Au Train river
in Michigan when i was thinking of the name for a RP character. He was a
naturey sort so it worked. and I like how it sounds. Thus, I use it.
as for my other SNs..most of them are just names I come up with for
characters in games or for stories I write.
Jaender Ashe..Jander Sunstar is an elven vampire from the AD&D forgotten
realms setting in a few novels..I liked the anme so I changed the spelling
and stole it, and came up with a random surname. I was wondering at that
particular moment how I could have such a long bit of ash on the end of my
cigarette.
Shaeidh - an alternate spelling of shade I came up with. I was coming up
with approximately ten names for character for myself and my girlfriend for
characters for a computer game, so my creativity was rather worn out. but
it confuses poeple so I like it.
(there're a number more of them but they all pretty much have the same
sorts of origins) ____________________ Corruption? Why yes..I have plenty of that for sale. |

In junior high and high school I used to get told that I live in my own
little world, and so I got a button that said "Lost in Space". As I got
older and discovered the internet, I figured that if I live in my own
little world then I must be the goddess of the stars in that little world.
Thusly, I decided that I was Lady Starlight. I shortened it to Starlight
for chat and forums. I used to use Lady Starlight as a RPG character, and
now I use Elenme'a which is Elven for StarLight as an RPG character. My
other rather permanent nickname is Silver. Basically from my lifelong
obsession with Silver the metal and the color. So I use it for chat and
forums as well. ____________________ "When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never

Squire of Gothos was a character (and episode name) of an episode of Star
Trek the original series. My sadness is deafening........ This guy was
named Trelane and he called himself the Squire of this planet called
gothos. But he was really this mischievous space child with the power to
alter physics and stuff. And he wore frock shirts and velvet and stuff and
looked like a french noblemen. He just busted up the ship and his parents
came and took him home. It was a trippy episode. But I reiterate, sad, sad,
sad. ____________________ “The only thing that can alter the good writer is death.”

Mine's very simple, nothing deep and revealing.... I wanted a short, not
over-dramatic name, and Erishkigal is the name of a female from Dusk And
Her Embrace by Cradle Of Filth (not a favourite band of many here, I know,
but one of my own and very local too ). I like the song,
and the name Erishkigal. It was feminine and suitable, and no one else
seems to have it. I like it. ____________________ Let viagra bring the magic back. |

Okay, call me a stealer call me what you will, I got my name from the humor
section here on Shmeng. I of course loved the name Rayn long before I saw
it. The article was called "I'm So Goth" I'm so goth that I changed my
name to Mystryss Darque Wyntyr Nyght Rayn Ravyn....yeah I suck I know, but
I found a name that I would use now if I hadn't chosen this. That name is
Camenae, from the Latin word for the Roman godesses associated with the
muses...I love that name. ____________________ "People always say what we are looking for is a meaning for life…I don't

My name came from when I was a dancer years ago... Jade was my stage name,
and a character I played at a very weird time in my life... When I got
online, there were an awful lot of people who also called themselves Jade,
and Jayde, and Jaide and many other variations... so I tacked another name
onto it. It took me a while to find the right one to put there.. found it
in The Tempest. Miranda, the girl isolated on an island away from all
reality, so much that when she sees other people for the first time, she is
fascinated and falls in love at first sight with the first man she sees.
She has a lot of goodness in her heart, and sympathy for the troubles of
others, and is in general a very nice girl. Meranda's goodness balances the
icyness of the dancer Jade, and Jade keeps Meranda from being too
sickeningly sweet. So now, I'm Meranda_Jade... and it works well..

Mine came from when my mom was like 6. She used to go watch her neighbor
ride this horse named Devon, and decided when she grew up and had kids, she
was gonna name the first one Devin whether it was a boy or a girl.
So she finally had me, and named me that and the name has stuck with me
ever since.
