Perhaps we should turn to the deity in this time of apathy and
unagressiveness. If there are simply not enough of Us to flame Them,
perhaps a digital moat, portcullis, or body cavity search is in order. I
propose that, along the lines of the Goth Test, a "Faq Test" be set up, and
that any who desire a username must pass such a test to exist on this
site.
Of course, I can see a bit of problems with that idea...but I think it
could (possibly) have the bugs worked out of it. The alternative is to go
recruit nonpeople* and hand them flamethrowers.
* Schizo: In response to all people sucking, I have often said to friends
or acquaintances "I hate people." and had them respond with "I'm sorry," as
they were considered people. For that reason, I decided that certain select
individuals were, to me, not considered people, and that a person would
have to prove to me that they were not a person in order to be exempt from
my statement. That way, I could say "I hate people" without hearing "I'm
sorry" from my friends. That, and it gives me a way to say "Why are you
being such a person?" that makes sense.

I am so with all of you on the whole being too tired thing. By the time
this summer is over, I will have gone to two, maybe three concerts, moved,
celebrated two birthdays, had my first courtdate, and attended two
weddings, one of which is my own. All this on top of working 45 hour weeks
and taking care of my two-year-old daughter (her birthday is on the 9th!)
I am among the guilty ones who let things slide. But I had enough of
seeing Feral doggedly keep after these twits, even though none of them ever
listened to him. Well, maybe they'll listen if I join in. I can't leave
him to struggle on against this growing wave of idiots alone.
BTW, Bettie, it is GOOD to hear you rant again! There's no one, and I mean
NO ONE can flame like you!
And I know what you mean - the peaceniks had me cowering, too. It wasn't
FOD that had me nervous about my rant, it was all those people who might
come in to make me feel like a two-bit bully for "picking" on her.
But I don't know about screening idiots out before they even get a screen
name. After all, I love the smell of trolls roasting in the morning. I
just don't like the troll's version of PETA coming in and giving me shit
for it.
Remember people, we used to LOVE this! And a little roasting should go a
long way - get the stubborn ones, and the weak and timid should scatter,

ok so now that it's been talked about, flamed over, ranted about, and half
the members of the site have gone of raving like lunatics let's discuss
what we are going to do. My suggestion is use classification like there is
on the karma, when a person joins they have restrictions (ie. only allowed
to read articles and post in certain forums and whatnot) if they prove
themselves trolls then they go to troll status (ie. only allowed to post in
"troll forum" and read elsewhere, no private messages no Notes) or if they
prove not to be trolls they go a step up to half member where they have the
privilages of posting in articles and forum, as if they were a real member,
in this stage they can be watched and if they get trollish they can always
be demoted to newbie mode again. if they take flaming well and even prove
to be an active contributor they get moved up to full member.
i would think that the main problem with this idea is that it would take a
lot of programming...
any other ideas?...
