Sometimes a good idea is a good idea. Other times an idea just gets out of
hand and runs rampant. Case in point the first link:

Next, a stark contrast to the first link.

i really wonder if this will lead to a new civil war. the last one was
about "states rights" and both of these groups are saying many of the same
things that the "North" and "South" said last time. Altho i think the
Christianmoving people might be under-thinking it since they wont have an
ocean port where the lessgovernementmoving people will.

I'm glad it's not the Christians who want to take over New Hampshire!

this really scares me...and pisses me off.
we don't need to have a state split off from the rest of us....if i were in
charge i'd tax the hell out of any merchandise coming from the state they
chose....i don't think they thought this through hard enough... ____________________ "It is a fool's prerogative to utter truths that no one else will speak." ~

The first one sounds like a Christian zionist movement to me... "Lets form
our own Christian nation!" And seeing how the original zionist movement is
going... (Israel vs. Palestine), I don't think it'd be a good idea.
As for the second one: Not a bad idea. Except that people are lazy. If you
can't get many people out just for a decent peace march these days, you
sure as hell ain't gonna get people to move en masse to another state. ____________________ Piggy's got the Conch! |

Hahahaha! These two things made me laugh so much I snorted...*giggle*
*snort* *giggle* Okay, now that I am done with that portion...
These two groups have no idea what they are getting themselves and the rest
of the population into. I don't think they are looking at how much reality
is going to bite them in the ass. You can't just split off into a city of
a certain number of people and come up with laws that contradict the
constitution like that. Sure a city can have a government but the state
and federal governments over rule them and therefore they really can't do
anything at all. Sad sad dumbasses. ____________________ "People always say what we are looking for is a meaning for life…I don't

Well that's kinda what the US did to Great Britain, but I do have to admit
we had the advantage of distance and lotsa years to get ultra pissy about
their rules. Not to mention all that hard ass living that made most of us
impervious to cold hunger and bullets.
What I find ULTRA hillarious that we fought the british initially to end
unfair taxation only to win our freedom and proceed to tax the ever living
fuck out of our own people worse than the british ever DREAMED.
I also think that they should go for it, because it'd be awesome to watch
from a distance. You know, like a biosphere or a science experiment, let
'em at it, gate it off, and put little coin operated binoculars around the
perimeter like they have at the piers. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

you know that would be a very cool idea bettie....reminds me of the episode
of futurama (where bender starts floating through space and a colony of
tiny people starts to live on him and worship him as there god) i just
think it would be interesting to watch how disfunctional they all become... ____________________ "It is a fool's prerogative to utter truths that no one else will speak."

Don't yoo just love it that the Revolution was started by a bunch of guys
who refused to pay tax on tea and the US government taxes water?
Oh, and it's customary for Xian pilgrims to commit genocide on anyone
occupying the territory they settle.

These people shouldn't be so rude. What are they going to do when they
establish their own government? Are they going to worry about bibblical
values in government, or quality of life? What about food? What about
medical insurance and care? All that will have to be done elsewhere. I'd
bet all of those people who work for the govenrment in those states and
love the United States will quit and move. Will they fire those who stay
who don't see their values as true, or fire those who will are of a
different religion who work in the current government offices? Who will
they get to file the paperwork then? Who gets to make tiny tedious
decisions? Who will make the big ones? The man who thought up the plan?
Will they allow people to vote? What will they do with sanitation, water,
or waste? Will they relax rules on such things to save money? What about
disease control; will they use prayer healing? Who will make the money?
Will they be forced to print the money on copy machienes and just hope the
good Christians won't take advantage of their 'Good Christian Government'?
Will this new govenment trust it's people? What will the laws be like? Will
they have the death penalty? Who gets punished for what?
"Our independence will be achieved by legislative vote rescinding our
state’s ratification of the U.S. Constitution."
This is a step that can go very wrong. They want to be good Americans (I
guess) and give up the constitution? I doubt they will write and abide to
an identical one. I think the opportunity to make one from scratch or add
anything they want to the original will be too tempting.
No big questions have obviously been approached by these people. No small
ones either. I invite them to expatriate, and move some place else. These
people don't want to vote and picket like the rest of us, they want to tear
a state off of this country. They are plenty of places in Africa that will
give them what they are looking for. They shouldn't be so rude to try and
affect so many people to create a new "Jonestown" State by ripping it off
of the US. Once again, WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO TO ALL OF THE OTHER PEOPLE
IN THE STATE THEY TAKE OVER? Make them abide by their new rules, and kick
them out if they don't abide by them? What if they kill, torture, or
imprision people over this? Does the US have an obligation to step in? what
will they do then? Will people die? Will their be a war?
What is all of this for? It looks from reading their website to be about
gay people getting married. That's a big dangerous effort over something
that won't affect them unless they are gay.
"Gay marriage will be foisted upon us in the very near future"
"Foisted"- To impose (something or someone unwanted) upon another by
coercion or trickery: 'They had extra work foisted on them because they
couldn't say no to the boss.'
I really hope that's not what they think. from their speech throughout the
site it sounds like it. They sound like they will be forced to marry people
of the opposite gender. I hope they know it really won't affect them. Gay
marriage is about gay people. If they don't like it, they can stop visiting
www.hrc.org and close their front doors when their gay married neighbors go
to work in the morning. They can go turn on the god channel and forget it
ever existed- until their son tells then they are gay or the wife finds the
gay porn.
"... Some people are slower to accept new ideas than others. Many people
won’t take to a new concept until others have taken to it."
I think they are completely corrrect. Why not just sit back for a while and
see where this gay marriage thing goes? Why take such rash actions right
away?

HELL NO!! NO MORE REALITY TV!!
unless it's one of my own designs:
1. how much pot can a pot head smoke
2. 700 club death match (where we get that old guy from the club and make
him fight against other right wing nuts)
3. Drag queen show down
4 who wants to try and survive compton (there's no prize at the
end....cause it's never happened) ____________________ "It is a fool's prerogative to utter truths that no one else will

I love bettie's idea fo making it into a reality TV program. Watching South
Carolina become indistinguishable from Cambodia ala Jesus would be fun to
watch. Just as long as there are no outward consequences like a war. And
seeing Pat Robertson in a broken bottle fight to the death on the 700 club
would... how to say this... I wouldn't need porn or sex ever again; that
would give me good jerk material until my hand falls off. ____________________ The OBOLISK is Divine. |
