we've been talkinga bout the abomination that is GW Bush... but we have not
really bee talking about the issues of this election. what, this voting
season, is important to you?

Hm, what is important to me. That's hard to say seeming how I've pretty
much given up on our current and future political state of this nation.
What is important....
Someone who tells it like it is (won't get it)
Someone who tackles "controversial" non-issues and serves the will of the
people (won't get it)
I want a secure economy (won't get it)
I want people to be treated as people (won't get it)
There are a lot of things I want in a candidate, and that are important to
me, but unfortunately it's rather pointless, as all we have to choose from
are meat puppets in it for money, power, and to serve personal agendas
instead of the will of the people.
Thats rather dour of me, I realise, but well, fuck it. I know the
important or more "hot" items will be danced around till the earth dries
up, and anyone who tackles them from a reasonable standpoint will be hiked
up the fucking flagpole. So I give up. What's important to me is finding
a person who will lie the least, bullshit the least, get our asses blown up
the least, and will fuck our economy while pocketing under the table money
the least. That's what I want. ____________________

I want abortion to stay legal.
I want a President who doesn't feel the need to reference god in every
fucking speech he gives.
I want church and state to stay separate .
I want rules in place that make it wrong for insurance companies to cover
viagra but not the pill.
I want the US to start giving to the World Population Fund again.
I want research done on alternate energy sources.
I want "faith based funding" cannexed.
I want jobs to stay stateside.
I want these ridiculously high child-tax credits that encourage frivolous
breeding and subsequent spending to stop coming out of my pocket.
As a military member, I suppose the war and all it encompasses should be
higher on my list of important issues, but there are two things I am before
an officer: a woman and an atheist. My above list of wants are the most
important issues to me. ____________________

You want church and state to STAY seperate? They aren't even seperate yet,
so would be better to want them to be seperate.
You have good things on your list Daria. I agree with you Bettie, you
certainly wont be getting those for Christmas. ____________________

By stay, I mean for this country to not become a theocracy. The day that
happens, I will resign my commission and leave the US.
I know they are not completely separate right now, but as bad as it is, it
could be worse. ____________________

I want someone that can't be bought or sold.
I want somebody who actually understands how economics works.
I want sombody who can come up with creative new ideas for solving
persistant problems.
I want someone who does what s/he thinks needs to be done and doesn't worry
about the polls.
I want someone who actually gives a shit about this country and it's
citizens.
I want somebody who is not trigger-happy but understand when we need to
attack.
I want someone who will systematicly weed-out things such as the Patriot
Act, Homeland Security, and every other violation of our civil and
consititutional rights.
I want someone who is not intersted in partisian politics nor getting
his/her buttons pushed by any secreet societies.
I want someone without corporate interests or political agendas. ____________________
i wanted to die, and then it progressed into wanting everyone else to
die so i could watch, and then me die.
