Well, then, let's get back to the subject of losing things in translation.
It's been very hot this summer, so I wandered to the local "Buy the Way" to
get some kind of fluid. "Buy the Way" is one of the few businesses here
whose name actually does give the passerby some idea of what it is
they do there. A popular game for Westerners here is to stand on a street
corner and look at store fronts and pool money on bets about what business
actually transpires inside. To date, nobody is entirely sure what goes on
in the "Baby Hunter" stores, but I imagine they have a back room stocked
with issues of National Geographic magazines and stuffed baby head
trophies and people gather around a long table to discuss their next baby
hunt expedition and regale one another with tales of safaris past (One can
imagine the Crocodile Hunter wearing a pith helmet and poking a baby with a
stick. "Careful, now, this baby has missed it's nap and is feeling
especially cranky.") I've seen "Baby Hunter" t-shirts, but I'm not sure
what you have to do to qualify to get one. It's also impossible in Korea to
be entirely certain whether some establishments are restaurants or pet
stores.
At any rate, I decided to risk dehydration after I discovered that the only
drinks to be had were labeled Aloe and Rice Ion Beverage, Pocari Sweat, and
NearWater.

Wow... SO wrong forum there! The site logs you off, you try to save your
writing, and then you end up posting it in the wrong damned place! Ah
well... for those of you with more wit about you than I have, just mentally
insert that one into the "Lost in Translation" forum. Damn. I need some
coffee. Too bad it would be made with horse sweat.

you're just the most subtle type of troll of all...
The, "oh I'm sorry, I posted that in the wrong forum" troll.
Sure you start with what looks like a normal comment, but next you start
posting your goatse slashfics or links to your favorite kiddyporn, and it
only goes downhill from there.
But hey, what do I know, I very well could be a "make shit up and sound
like an ass" troll... ____________________

One Hundred and One Damnations! Have I gotten that obvious in my
old age...? Actually, I felt like an idiot moving too quickly with the
cuts and the pastes and not thinking things through... but part of this is
everybody else's fault for making their damned forum arguments
interchangeable from place to place. Yeah. So there. ~quietly putting

especially during june-august, early march and mid december when the
highschoolers are out or on break. It's an ebb and flow. They come on,
make friends or make everyone bang their heads on their keyboards, leave,
and come back usually with different screen names. It's the norm. ____________________

YTMND stands for Your The Man Now Dog. But YTMND is a website that is
currently down and will be back up soon that has all these people making
little website with looping sounds and 3 major components 1. Words 2.
Picture. 3. Sound wav or mp3 and all have to be under 1mb. It's like a
competition. ‘You’re the man now dog’ was related to why the site was made.
‘You’re the man now dog’ is a quote from a movie I can’t remember and is
spoken by Sean Connery.
PEF stands for Pervy Elf Fancier and you can probably guess all the others
related. You said slashfics so I was assuming that you would know and maybe
be part of this organization. Not many people know what slash fics are.
Well… not many people around here. But I know my little piece of
coughheavencough is full of rednecks and backwater hillbilly’s so you
can’t expect worldly knowledge from them.

ok. its going a while back but i have been in the land of the internet
free. mums house. where the computer bites if you touch it and all three
hard drives are full of nonexistent files....
anyway, schizo - i hear what you are saying, but even bucking against a
society is an admission of just how much it is affecting you. this has
headfucked me a few times. the country that you grow up to a large extent
dictates the society you live in, not to mention the microsociety of your
local area. so where your mother squeezes you out does dictate who you are
quite a lot.
i know im being rejected. this isnt the problem that i have had, ive been
rejected before, i can deal with it. the problem that i had was being told
that i am sexist and this is why i demand acceptance. that is true crap.
pure and simple. i would hope that people can smell more than just
'diamonds' and realise that it tastes a damned sight worse than lucky
charms. ____________________

for starters...i like the amount of posts you
have...69 hehhehehehe..
The internet...hmm....i remember it a bit in high school...I did not use it
much at all in yr 8, 9 and 10...it was something that was there and was
used, but not like it is today. I tend to use it, quite a lot now....Uni's
now use it for everything, work uses it...everything.
It's not that you are being rejected its just that you need to understand
most of the people on here have had to put up with smart fucken arses for a
long time....not that i am saying that you are a smart arse far from it.
They just get annoyed with repeats.
I can't say i have seen any sexist stuff on here...but thenn again I have
been called blind before. But i tend to look past certain things, and not
get involved in flaming and grudge matches. ____________________

Wormwood - I think I see the problem.
When you came to this site, you started posting in ways that raised ire,
not because of your point of view, but because of the way you presented it.
You were corrected at that point, but your inflammatory style still did
not change.
What you may not realize is, we have hundreds of people coming to this site
who start trying to "stir up a discussion" in the way you did. It is never
acceptable. We are very tired of it. By now, after literally years of
dealing with this, we have lost a lot of patience. If someone does not
respond to their initial correction, no one really feels like keeping kid
gloves on much longer. Once someone shows that they don't have respect for
the guidelines of the website, it's chow time.
At this point, it is no longer a time of debate or discussion. It is time
to drive the offender away. At this point, the offender becomes the target
of all the pent-up frustrations of the powers that be, that have had
generations and generations of stirrer-uppers to deal with. We do not have
the time or the energy to invest inan in-depth personality analysis of the
individual offenders. The objective is to either make it go away, or teach
it good and solid that it was out of line. It's mere survival.
If someone calls you sexist, and you are not sexist, then it's sad for you,
but when you think about it, that person is showing as much consideration
for your true personality as you were showing for the guidelines of the
website. THAT is the point that is being made - if you will not take the
time to make sure your postings fall into the realm of what is acceptable
(and by this, we mean not accpetable opinions, but acceptable ways of
communicating them), then we will not take the time to make sure you are
treated with reasonability. It's all matter of respect.
If you really want to continue as a member here, the point is to A) learn
from the first correction, please!, or B) realize that when the cheap
insults start flying, it's not because we don't have higher quality ammo in
our arsenal, but because we don't care to invest that much in you. Once
you get past B, then you can learn from the experience (generally known as
the "trial by fire", and many of us have gone through it in some form or
other), or you can leave, or you can stick around, behaving in the same
manner, and receiving more of the same treatment (much like Abbadon).
The important thing to remember is, this is not your website, there are
codes of conduct, and if you don't take the time to listen and learn what
they are, then we are not going to take the time to get to know the
wonderful person you really are inside. After all, the real "sin" is not
making a mistake, but refusing to admit it or correct it.
If you will notice, established members disagree all the time, and it
rarely results in cheap insults. We can and will take the time to exercise
courtesy to those who we see will do the same for us.
I see potential in you, Wormwood, and intelligence. Personally, I would
prefer that this were a mere trial by fire in this instance. But that is
up to you. ____________________

did pretty well! However I will ask him to re-write it in smaller, easier
to manage words so you can understand. OK?
Schizo: I'm not going to respond to all the points you put forward, as some
of them were addressed personally to Wormwood and not to me. However I do
wish do defend him, as I do all those who would be chastised bhy an
oppressive regime.
It is not very often that I see a post that someone has written and
gotten their head bitten off by you or betty or kitty, that I think: "That
is in a very different style to what the 'powers that be' would write.' I
think that the obviuos camaradery that goes on in this site is a cause for
people whose views are different from your own to be alienated for their
mode of argument.
Who are you to correct the way in which other people think and speak?
Unless you have actually had a private audience with the bloke with the big
white beard I don't think you are in a position to dictate what is a
correct and incorrect way to live ones life.
This high quality ammunition you speak of, please, if not with Wormwood
or I, use it at some point, I don't recall ever seeing it and I'm sure it
reflects well on the firer.
I'm not sure you understand the term 'sin. The making of a mistake is
actually the sin part of the proceedings. The refusing to admit it: thats
just normal.
