How can you not like the Sci-Fi version of Beowulf?
It had decent special effects
It had one heck of a kickin soundtrack
The fight scenes were great
At least one porn star
and Christopher Lambert
What more do you need to make a good movie
While I may admit, that it may not be a version of the old story to base
any reports on, it was still a good movie. ____________________ Sometimes I dream about dinosaurs shopping for cargo shorts at the Gap.

How deep. I'm up to my ears in deep. No really, look. *gurgle*
I'm also up to my ears in bad horror movies, and bad movies in general.
Fortunately "old" ones are available cheaply...I just scored two
compilation DVD's for about 10 bucks each! One had night of the living
dead, hous on haunted hill, and one other I can't remember, and another one
had die sister die, the terror, the spider, another one (can't remember
that one either!)...and they had TONS of old horror movies for dirt ass
cheap.
I think I'm gonna work on my "elvira" collection for now..."haunted hills"
just made me realise how much I LOOOOOVE elvira. How can you go wrong with
boob jokes, one liners, puns and ridiculous plots? In haunted hills she
was in a big tub playing with pirate ships and all like "Ahoy ye maytee,
we're here to pillage your BOOTY" "OH no PLEASE don't pillage mah
bootay!"
Or in a carriage crash "good thing I came with my own airbags"
I love elvira...love elvira love her love her love her!
I'd be elvira for halloween but I'm uh...lacking.
Oh, and for a new good horror/suspense movie, "Frailty" is FANTASTIC!

Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. I remember that one. She fought a demonically
possessed priest(?) while taking cheep shots at every cliche I can imagine.
One of my favorites. ____________________

Nah, the preist wasn't posessed, the was EEEEEVIL!!! My fav was when she
broke the cemetary fence chain with her boobs and when she fell and twisted
her ankle (running through a graveyard in 6" heels hehehehe what a diva!)
and she flung her stilhetto heel like a ninja star and stuck the heel in
his forehead
oh yeah, the poodle with the mohawk *grin**
I dont' know about ghost ship...looks kind of ...corny. Could be good
tho..I'll wait for it to come out on dvd. ____________________ Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. |

Oh yeah, hehe. One scene she comes out with a bazooka on her shoulder and a
red bandana on her head, I can’t remember what she said but it was a great
one-liner. That’s one movie I’ve been meaning to add to my dvd
collection.
Oh and the Lord of the Rings extended edition is almost out! Woohoo!
I think I’ll take a look at the Jackass movie before I think about Ghost
Ship. It looks ok, a haunted or possessed ship in the middle of the
ocean...can’t really screw up that formula. There was this one movie where
a giant squid like monster took over a ship and killed all it’s crew...it
was pretty gory but had some bad special effects for the end battle...shit,
I can’t remember it’s name. Came out around 98' or so. ____________________

I heard that there will be two different versions of the Two Towers, Pg-13
and a R - rated (on dvd when the time comes). More action and such… ____________________

Actually she's on the net...every year she has an exclusive PeTA website
for "vegan halloween" because "eating the dead is just SOOO GRODY"
She celebrated her 51st birthday a couple months ago...
hopefully "haunted hills" won't be her last. If I get a good tax return
this year...I'm going to have to buckle and buy a refurbished elvira
pinball machine for my geek room. A ridiculous expense, but they're only
about 3-500 bucks and man...it's ELVIRA PINBALL!

I have been pretty annoyed with the attack some horror movies are taking
now. I'm talking about the"sudden loud crashing noise that makes you
jump". It's getting out of hand I'm tellin ya..sheesh.
Silent Hill was a great game, I played it when it was new and it still is
the only game that ever actually frightened me. I remember playing through
some parts of the game and thinking to myself "cant wait til this part is
over..etc..blah blah blah....Im a big baby... ____________________

Whacks alone with a big fat vegan stick~
NERVE ENDINGS PAL THE ABILITY TO FEEL AND REGISTER PAIN AND SUFFERING
BUDDY! *snicker* you little sucker you.
I am rather sick of the "we can't scare them with INTELLIGENCE let's just
make 'em jump" shit too. If I want "suprise" scares, all I have to do is
go home. I've got michael for THAT. You want scary suprise try walking up
the stairs straight into the arms of a somewhat demented man in love with
pro wrestling who has been dying all day to try out a new move he invented
on someone smaller than he is.
THe exorcist had a few of those, but there was a plot behind the movie too,
a scary plot behind the movie, the "jumps" just sort of added to it. Signs
had a few of those, but I swear to hell over and over that Signs was one of
THE best movies I"ve seen in AGES.
I just watched "lady frankenstein" and "die sister die" last night. Fun
stuff!
I also like the cheezy parody horror movies like "young frankenstein". I'm
all about cheese, especially when I can't get a good scare. Evil Dead
IIead by
Dawn will NEVER GET OLD!

Hey...that stick had thorns in it...
Have you seen the Directors Cut of all three Evil Dead movies? I haven't
but I've been meaning to.
And yes in Evil Dead 2, the scene were Ash is just standing there, with
that badass look on his face and the music is building up...."Groovy." Bad
ass!
*the Adams family theme song pops into my head*
Doo, doo, doo, doo, *snaps his fingers*

I just saw "The Ring" last night and it was pretty good in the first 15
minutes of the movie. I'd have to say the best part in the movie as far as
a disturbance factor goes would be the part near the beginning or so when
they briefly show the dead girl's face, now that was pretty kick ass. The
entire movie was pretty interesting, but like I said before, it was loaded
with those "lets play with their natural reaction to sudden loud noises"
There was a pretty good effect near the end that I wont say...but the
overall ending I would have to say was pretty weak.
and ghost ship looks like a weak movie...in my opinion it looks more like
an action movie to me.... ____________________

Heheheheh I just saw bruce campbell's book "if chins could kill" at
borders!
I just can't get over that movie...and I've seen the director's cut of evil
dead II and Army of Darkness including the alternate ending *grin*
I think one of my fav moments from Evil Dead II was when he cut the head
off the "basement bitch" and it was rolling around on the floor and it
goes:
"HEY! I'll swallow your sould I'll swallow your soul I'll swallow your
soul!" and he points the shotgun at it and says "Swallow this."
As for army of darkness...It's a tie between the boomstick speech, the
cemetary scene with the three books, and the final scene at S*Mart when the
woman shopper is possessed by the deadite:
"WE SHALL FEAST UPON YOUR SOULLLLLL"
*BLAM*
"Lady, I'm gonna have to ask you to leave the store."
I have finally realised that I have an Evil Dead problem and that I need a
13 step program...it came to me at the beginning of Evil Dead II and he was
like "ooo what's this tape deck thing?" and BOTH my husband and I yelled
out "DON'T TURN ON THE FUCKING TAPE DUMMY!!"

I could go for a mindless action fix right about now...Ghost Ship will do.
Till then, Jackass.
I need a laugh.
I always find it funny how when one watches a horror movie you always know
what not to do. The rules have been written but they've been broken and the
gory demises sprout out like flowers on a warm summer's day.
In Army Of Darkness I couldn’t help but wonder, if the marching armies of
skeletons have drummers, how the hell could they get that sound out of a
human skull!? Madness!
Ack, I’m thinking too much! Heh.
One of my favorite scenes from Evil Dead 2 was when Bruce’s possessed hand
was kicking the crap out of him, it begins to crawl towards a butchers
knife making these high pitched sounds and then BAM! Knife threw his own
hand.
Gotta love it.
I have to see all three unrated versions of the series. ____________________
