Alright, I’ll admit that I have not lived in the states in over four years
now, so maybe I’m more out of touch then I think, but I really do have to
know just what the hell is going on.
So, I’m asking people on the ground the, WTF?! I mean seriously….
Last reports include the government abducting perfectly healthy children
under the guise of CFS…roamed bans of armed guerillas patrolling the
streets, thousands of people disappearing while traveling between places at
the airports, and abortion becoming a crime.
What the hell happened to the country that I left such a short time ago?
How did it get this far? Is there any hope outside of say a giant boomstick
upside a small shrubs ass?
I’m hoping for some insight. Remember I’m in Korea and frequently
distracted by the girls in the school uniforms, so I appreciate you help in
trying to make sense of it all….

you forgot the wiretap-ing, the riots, the new "we can hold you without a
lawyer as long as we want" law, racial profiling making it an actual crime
to be the wrong color in the wrong neighborhood, and the raise in poverty,
murder, and the increase in armed forces numbers. its crazy here. scary
crazy, i dont think that is the just the paranoia that comes with Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder....
i would guess you arent hearing alot about the searchs and confiscations
that are happening on sealed warrents (where they have a warrent to
searchyour home, but you dont get to read what is in it and the police that
are doing the search dont know what they are looking for, so they HAVE to
toss your whole house).
Or that the food banks are empty in 19 states, or close to. and that the
homeless-welfare dependant rate has doubled in some states.

Well crap...
I do read the international news, but no, those are some new ones as well,
although I was aware of the wire tapping.
And people wonder why I break into a cold sweat when they ask me if I'm
planning on moving back stateside soon....
I also heard about misappropriations, and bald face lying, but I figured
that was par for the course....
American Idol is a sign of the apocalypse....

What? No mention of the blatant electoral theft whereby partisan companies
like Diebold and Blackwell manipulate the results of the democratic process
and thumb their noses at you so you can't vote the bastards out of office?
Or section 215 of the USAPATRIOT Act that states that you can go to prison
for discussing your case with a lawyer or that any violation of the penal
code (like, say, jaywalking) constitutes an act of terrorism? Or the fact
that they have introduced legislation to make third parties illegal just as
they have made it impossible to declare bankruptcy? Or how the Supreme
Court effectively destroyed the Social Security Act with a recent ruling?
Or how they are moving their agenda into Canada by undermining the Canadian
judicial system so that dissenting Americans can not cross the border to
escape the illegal "no fly" lists? Or... or...
Yes. It is that crazy. And that blatant. The USA is in the midst of a
class war the likes of which hasn't been seen since before the signing of
the Magna Carta. And, no, my tinfoil hat has nothing to do with it.

Which recent ruling destroyed Social Security, cause that is also a new one
on me. I know that abortion rights activists are gearing up for Judgement
Day, but I'd assumed that if the worst happened, there was always
Canada....
Please tell me they haven't gotten Canada too? Is there anyplace safe in
the world, or safe from the massively self destructive machine?

The case to which I was referring was a November ruling against James
Lockhart, a disabled former postal carrier who owed $77 thousand in student
loans. The US Supreme Court decided that they could garnish his wages to
collect, despite the fact that his wages consisted entirely of Social
Security benefits. While the rich have been trying to "reform" (read:
abolish) Social Security for decades, in a moment of astonishing frankness,
Justice Scalia quipped after the Lockhart ruling that it effectively
repeals HR 7260 (the Social Security Act).
And, yes, they have infected Canada as well... which currently pretends to
have independence and autonomy. But then again, so does the US Democrat
Party.

discussion of polititcs. Before I tell you this statement, I want you to
know somethings... before this conversation, I did not think that a
person's political opinions ALONE could make me dislike them. And before
this was uttered, I had respected this person a great deal as an
intellectual equal and a good person... she looked me in the eye and
said
"George W. Bush is a good man."
And surprising number of people actually agree with this statement... that
is what is going on. Plain and simple.

Ah, yes, well that supreme court case I had heard about, and now they they
have Alito in there, I shudder to think what they will do next. Dammit all.
I've also stopped talking to people who utter such insipid nonesense as
"You can't blame Bush for everything that has gone wrong." Um, yes, yes, I
can. I can blame him for being the face of the puppeteers who are causing
all this horror. I can make him personally responsible if I want to, and I
can lose friends over it and not lose any sleep.

Or they could say what my mom says "But he's a Christian - I'm sure he's
doing the best he can!" It burns the hell out of me how an intelligent
woman like her can be so taken in. A.) What does being a Christian have to
do with it? The most destructive people in my life have been either
fanatical Christians or fanatical Wiccans. Religion certainly has never
stopped an evil person from acting on that evil. And B.) hello - he's a
politician! He's going to do what it takes to get votes, boost ratings,
and sugar-coat the pills he force-feeds us! How better to do that in this
still by-default Christian nation than be caught going to church, and
mention God in his speeches? (But I know I'm preaching to the choir.)
Of course, this is a woman who is active in a church whose founder was
guilty of kidnapping, child abuse, and manslaughter, and whose second
leader used his sermons to send secret messages to the young woman he was
secretly having an affair with. So I guess she's used to being controlled
by sick and twisted men who use Christianity as a cloak for their misdeeds.

Also the patriot act - which is part of the "taking over Canda" plot as
well though that is just as much our fault. Apparantly all the Canadian
Medical Information is being backed up in the US which gives them access to
all that information at their leisure because of the Patriot Act saying
that they can do so. One would think it would be simple enough to just back
up our own information in our own country so this one really goes over my
head.
Personally I hope that nothing gets taken over by America and that Bush
dies before he can do anything too terrible, or at least gets very ill.
Korea sounds nice though.

my new favorite grudge against Bush is how he didnt break off his vacation
to come deal with the displacement of hundreds of thousands of families
from Katrina. He kept working on his tan while we all tried not to drown.

I get a little irritated by the "He was on vacation" meme. He spends a LOT
of time "on vacation" in Crawford, Texas ("The Little White House"),
because staff meetings held in the BIG White House in Washington are
matters of public record. Staff meetings held elsewhere do not have to be
disclosed. That's part of why he couldn't cross the street during his
"vacation" to talk to Cindy Sheehan... he'd have to do it during a lunch or
potty break.
Not that you should not still hold this against him, even if he was not
"working on his tan". He simply felt his secret agendae took precedence
over taking care of the drowning of a great American city. Whatever secret
policies he and his cronies were cooking up was enough to keep them from
saving any American lives... and here's the bit that should make ALL of us
sit up and take notice:
Hundreds of thousands of imperilled Americans were less important than
whatever they were cooking up at that time. This begs the question: what
is it, then, that they think a government is for? They have demonstrated
clearly in this single instance that the welfare of the governed doesn't
enter it.

Apparently the only dying Americans that matter are the ones who were
killed by terrorists, thus fueling whatever Dubya's real motive is in
playing god in the Middle East. Hurricanes and floods in New Orleans and
surrounding areas just weren't furthering his agenda enough to be
interesting to him.

actually the part of that that pisses me off the most often is that the
CITIZENS from New Orleans have to use, and i am not making this up, REFUGEE
SERVICES.
Think about that for a moment. I was born here, have been paying taxes for
almost 20 years now, and am a voter. I have to go through refugee services
to get "federal" help. In fact, there is little or no federal help, only
state and church help. The feds told me to call Catholic Charities to file
my FEDERAL paperwork as a REFUGEE from New Orleans.
Again, I am not making this up. There were no FEDERAL shelters, food, or
medical attention. Shelter was provided by red cross and salvation army.
food by those two and many more religious group (with a few secular groups
as well) with some backing from each state. and medical attention is done
on a state by state religious affiliation basis.
But the point is, I am now considered a REFUGEE in my own country.

It really kills me that they managed to make up some different scandal for
everyone to focus attention on, when there was that lovely video tape
showing that bush is a complete moron. it was not covered widly in the
international news, so I wonder how much play it got in the US. That man is
criminally stupid and should be tried for it.
Maybe if your a refugee you should apply for citzenship status in some
non-hostile country. I know, I know, but I think everyone who can get out
of there should.
This also bothers me. I remember a time when the United States
international policy was as a nation that would not strike first. This
seems to ridiculous, dangerous, and barbaric. I would also argue that North
Korea, which has nuclear weapons, is possibly a bigger threat than Iran,
but how effective that nuclear deterant is. It seems difficult to blame
countries from exploring it when you have the biggest nuclear bully of them
all pushing you in the shoulder and making claims to be king of the hill.

My problem with this country is all the civilians who are living in fear.
Granted, most of them are right wing but the trend doesnt seem to stick to
a single political party. We all know the news has been playing on the
population's fear for a while now but it has grown to the extreme. Each day
there is something new to look out for. Be it a disease in the crops or
another teenage fad, americans are living scared and it pisses me off.
I truly believe in the old quote that all we have to fear is fear itself.
Fear is a product of ego and essentially the driving force for this war on
"terror". The government is doing a great job of keeping americans dumb,
fat, and scared shitless.
