The Wicker Man
From the back of the box: "When a young girl mysteriously disappears, Police Sergeant Howie travels to a remote Scottish island to investigate. But this pastoral community, led by the strange Lord Summerisle , is not what it seems as the devout Christian detective soon uncovers a secret society of wanton lust and pagan blasphemy."
My take on it: This movie is an amazing look at pagan societies and the "old ways". The wicker man is a movie about the interaction of today with yesterday, and it touches on so many everyday rituals that we take for granted that you learn something new everytime you watch it.
Christopher Lee plays Lord Summerisle and he lends a decidedly haunted feel to the role while still maintaining the feudal spirit that has fallen so into disuse in these days of pseudo equality. Added: Sunday, November 30, 2003 Reviewer: Shade Score: Hits: 1035

Posted by W0rmW00d on Aug 05, 2004 - 09:03 AM My score: it is indeed a magnificent film. Abaddon also likes it. is this further evidence for you? in fact, its also evidence for abaddon's wildly outlandish claim that you and i are the same, ironically.
anyway, great film, great cinematography. amazing imagery...its all so goood |
