The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
Starring Terrence Stamp, Guy Pearce and Hugo Weaving as drag queens, this film is one of the funniest ones I have ever seen. It is set in Australia, and covers the journey of the trio across the outback, from Sydney to Alice Springs, for their next show, set up by Mitzi's (Hugo Weaving) ex wife. The guys find themselves in some hilarious situations en route including a drinking contest with a woman more butch than the guys, a nasty run in with some homophobes, a mechanic married to a stripper and Felicia's (Guy Pearce) constant digs at Bernadette (Terrence Stamp). When they arrive in Alice Springs, Mitzi manages to spring one more surprise upon the guys, which just ties the film up in such a way that you're left with warm fuzzies.
Overall this film is so lovely, you have to see it. It's heart warming, fun and has sing along songs to boot.
