Electronic Saviors

Articles - Posted by Xaoswolf on Wednesday, February 01, 2012
Entertainment A few years ago, my friend Jim Semonik was diagnosed with cancer. This was actually bad news for the cancer, since he subsequently made the cancer his bitch and kicked it right the fuck out of his colon. He continued to promote shows here in Pittsburgh, as well as perform with his band Rein[forced]. It was after one of these shows that he was talking to Eric Powell of 16volt, when he decided to put out a compilation, and have the proceeds benefit cancer research. This started as a single disc, and then grew to 4 with a 5th digital disc added on near the end. Thus, Electronic Saviors was born.

Memoirs of Divinity: chapter 5

Fiction - Posted by feralucce on Friday, April 20, 2007
Entertainment Everyone knows the next story: Noah and the flood. Read the books and they make us sound like we were punishing the wicked. I can see how it may be construed that way, but that was not what happened. It is difficult to be all-knowing. I know, I know, we've already covered the fact that we don't know everything. We put in place a spiritual conduit that allows the prayers of believers to reach us no matter where we were.

Exodus: My Best Friend

Fiction - Posted by feralucce on Monday, April 09, 2007
Entertainment Not many girls can claim that their best friend while growing up was a warship. I can. You see, my father was a diplomat on a Sun Descending class Corvette. Yeah, I know, they decomissioned all of those long ago, but we still fly her. Just because the fleet has a new kind of ship doesn't mean the old ones aren't worth having. My dad got her for a mint. Well, he bet a mint, I think. Daddy liked to gamble. You might say he got his mint and ate it too.

***Chapter 27***

And with that it was time to go. I paid the bill and we stepped outside to hail a cab. Rose gave directions to the cabbie and we were off. The drive was uneventful, if silent. We both sat in quiet contemplation of what lay before us. I watched out the window as the neighborhood outside changed slowly from business to upscale homes to rural suburbs. The house at which we finally came to a halt was what the real estate agents would call a 'ranch style rambler'; a big spread out house that looked like it had had rooms added on at random.

***Chapter 26***

Rose had curled up in my lap the moment we started moving and I had thought she was going to doze off, but her body was tight with energy. She was like a ball of tension vibrating in my lap. I realized I had neither spoken to her nor touched her since we left the tree house. She had obediently held onto me through everything but by now she must be feeling frantic in the face of my stony silence. I reach down and caressed her face where she lay curled into my stomach. Some of the tension went out of her immediately but it returned almost as quickly as it left.

Fiction - Posted by necromancer on Monday, June 13, 2005

I was dreaming of blood. Swimming in it. No, drowning in it. The bodies were everywhere. Faces screaming in the dark. A scream of horror rose in my throat. Nicolette held the rod in her hand and eyed Rose's quivering body. Rose was now breathing slowly and evenly, but the tension of her body belied the tension in her soul. The pause in action allowed my arousal heightened senses to take in the room and I calmed my own raging emotions by identifying the scents and sounds of the dungeon. The tang of our sweat lay over the smooth fragrance of warm leather. The raw smell of denied orgasm a perfect counterpoint for the gentle sound of the chains as Rose's slight movements shook them against the post.

Entertainment Note: Previous chapters can be found -here-

We entered into a much-changed dungeon from the dusty enclosure in which we had played the previous night. There were candles lit along every wall and by their flickering light we could see the curved ceiling and the polished stone walls. There was a gleam along each wall that I was able to identify as steel beams set between the stone slabs. The ceiling itself was made up of arched timber and wide planks that glowed a deep red in the light. Gone was the scent of mildew and age, and instead I could smell freshly polished leather and the acid sweet scent of violets. The floor was polished to a high gleam and I realized that beneath the dust we had stepped through the previous night, this floor was made of hardwood planks to match the ceiling.

Fiction - Posted by Britva on Tuesday, December 16, 2003

Maybe you ask what the score of the game is, because there's always a game. Maybe you ask about the print on the wall. Maybe you turn your hat around backwards and put on an accent. Ever since you got here you have fought me at every turn. You ran away from me when all I wanted was to give you pleasure." His hand reached out to brush the hair away from my face. Entertainment Nicolette entered the room in a flourish of silk and leather, followed by her slave who was clad only in two strategically placed red ribbons. They walked slowly across the room, Nicolette because she must have been aware of and reveling in the stir her leather ball gown was causing, and her slave because the girl had to walk slowly; chained as she was to Nicolette's hips by fine silver chains. The chains themselves led from Nicolette's hips to tiny holes in the ribbon tied around the slave's breasts so that the slave was either connected by nipple clamps or piercings. I realized with a start that so many things had happened in the intervening time that I couldn't remember if the girl had pierced nipples.

Toy Dolls 20

Fiction - Posted by Shade on Friday, October 24, 2003
Entertainment When we reached the tree house we went straight to our room for a shower and some languorous touching. Rose rubbed ointment into my hand and found a soft leather glove to provide padding that didn't look as goofy as a bandage. I found a change of clothing in the cupboard so that when we were ready to rejoin the world, I wore snug, black silk pants and a fine mesh shirt; and Rose was dressed in black silk and velvet from mid thigh to just above her nipples. I had found a perfectly fitted bodice that flared to a soft velvet skirt at the hips and when she tried it on I nearly stopped breathing. The black silk top hugged her every curve and stopped millimeters above her areola, the cloth was thin enough just over her nipples that I could see them pressed against the material. The skirt flared from her hips and hung just far enough to maintain decency as long as she didn't walk, or breathe. She had shaved in the shower so that whenever she took a step I was treated to a perfectly framed view of her smooth shaven mound.

Entertainment I looked to Rose and saw that she had been watching the proceedings avidly from my lap. For a few minutes we sat and watched the group around us degenerate into several smaller groups, some in various states of arousal and some intent on conversation. I asked Rose about her needs and received a contented "I have everything I need right here Master" in response. For the moment I too was content to watch the Brownian motion as people spun off one group and joined another. Smaller groups were created and dispersed as the noise level rose and merged to become a calming background buzz. I leaned into my cushion and pulled Rose to me so that she lay with her head on my chest. I stroked her back and arms with one hand while I held her with the other and felt myself drifting into a mid-afternoon nap.

Toy Dolls 14

Fiction - Posted by Shade on Friday, August 15, 2003
Entertainment Rose led the way through a series of tunnels under the mansion that finally let out in a huge cedar paneled room. The noise level jumped so quickly that Rose leapt back to bury her head against my chest and I lifted my hands to cover her ears. We stayed like that for a moment while our ears adjusted and then Rose peeked out from between my arms and we both took in the sight of a huge broad oak table strewn with food platters and coffee urns. It was the coffee that broke the spell. We walked hurriedly over the marble floor and grabbed the nearest seats. I pulled Rose's seat out for her and she waited for my nod before sitting down, that was where her manners gave out in the face of croissants, fresh coffee, fresh fruit, pancakes, waffles, French toast, hash browns, sausage, bacon, and probably a dozen other things I couldn't see, but whose scents drew me. The smells were amazing as they mingled above the table and I felt like I was in an old cartoon, floating along behind a line of steam.

Public disservice announcement

Politics - Posted by Rogue on Friday, July 25, 2003
Entertainment Abraham Lincoln was a toymaker, inventor of Lincoln Logs, and aspiring politician whose original surname was Zapruder. He assumed the name "Lincoln" when he entered politics and wanted to name himself after the Lincoln pennies that were popular in his day, and even tried to make himself look like the man on the front of the coin by wearing a tophat and beard so that people would identify him with money and prosperity. The model for the coin was Buddy Ebsen dressed as Jed Clampett at his wedding, and Ebsen once threatened to sue Lincoln for infringement until a settlement was reached out-of court. One of Lincoln's cronies, George Washington, was originally named George Michael and was the grandfather of the sex-wanting Wham frontman of the same name until he assumed the name and look of the Washington quarter dollar image.

Entertainment The key slides easily into the lock, and then I feel it. Someone is watching me. My hackles rise with that eerie prickling sensation. A quick glance over my shoulder reveals no one, but that is not enough. I can feel the presence of a watcher.

Entertainment Time again for a multipost, I think. The submissions folder is filling up with emotional outpourings, random fiction, and attempts at satire. The usual really. Some of them make my spellchecker light up like a Christmas tree. Some are so convoluted that its hard to tell where it starts and you can only hope to reach the end someday.

Entertainment Chapter Two

As I walk away, I wonder if he’ll drown on his own blood. I mean, I did kick him in the face pretty hard. That part of me that I am not sure that I really like speaks up. It doesn’t really care if he does. I keep walking. I walk to the end of the street and I can hear sirens. Sirens are a sound distinctly out of place in the French Quarter, so I know they’re coming to pick up my assailant.

Entertainment I dreamt.

I was with the first peoples of the world. It was a mythic age of change and malleability. A woman had come among a tribe of men and she had been beautiful, her breasts heavy with sensuous promise, her hips wide and thrust forward by the strength of the desire she felt. And her eyes, her eyes held the promise of great things to come.

Sigimer and his friend Arnulf, both of the Cheruscan tribe, walked wearily together through the forest. Both
the fighting and the inclement weather had taken its toll on the men, but now that the rain and slaughter had ceased an eerie calm was descending through the ancient wald, made nearly tangible by the thickening mist that clung to the forest floor.

Figments part 2

Fiction - Posted by Meranda_Jade on Thursday, March 13, 2003
Entertainment "Never let me go? If you're a figment of my mind, can't I just imagine you doing whatever I want? I can make you let me go." I renewed my struggles against him, which only seemed to excite him further. He drew my arms above my head and held my wrists in one hand, smoothing my hair off my forehead with the other. He ravaged my lips in a long, drugging kiss that sent my senses reeling. Every nerve ending in my body came alive as I writhed against him shamelessly, and a longing I had only felt in my dreams overtook my soul.

Fiction - Posted by Meranda_Jade on Friday, February 14, 2003
Entertainment I was walking along, minding my own business, not paying much attention to the world around me, as is generally the case. I tend to withdraw into myself on occasion, and this was one of those times. My thoughts were swirling in a miasma of confusion, self-pity, and general despair. I felt I hadn't a friend left in the world. It had been so long since I'd had a friendly touch or word that I'd given up hope of ever feeling... anything.

Cinco the Huntress Kitty

Illustrations - Posted by Litho on Friday, January 17, 2003
Entertainment Cinco heard a little racket going on outside and peeked out to find her master’s pesky thirteen-year-old son Devin and his friend Dylan (also thirteen) rummaging through the junk on the front porch. Dylan had a long straight stick thing in his paws that didn’t quite look like a stick she’d find out in the yard. She remembered the boy Devin playing with one of these before, it made an air like noise and she’d hear a “thump” some yards away after he pulled a small trigger on it. It was obvious that he was searching for the same thing now.

85' excess

Fiction - Posted by Squire-of-Gothos on Saturday, January 11, 2003
Entertainment A colossal evening awaited us all. These where not your usual hang out conditions, this had depth. Nothing else was important, and I had to keep reminding myself of this so I wouldn’t botch the whole thing. Colin, that dog, verminous animal, thing was playing with his belt buckle, as if it where some sort of game or puzzle. He was scum. I hated him. Every night we would get together, find a competent and trusting crack fiend, and score some white. Every night I hated him more, unordinary hate that drives men places. I reminded myself of the night of excess and abuse we where waiting for, and righted myself.

Jack lived in a cottage away from the village and had little company except for Mrs. Baudrons, who was the cat that slept by the hearth and complained to Jack that nobody appreciated her whenever she thought Jack might be listening and many times when she was sure that he wasn't.

Entertainment The pavement smells distinctly of rain. In the sky, gulls screech. Though the sky is leaden, it has not rained for a long time. And if however faintly, the pavement has no right to smell of the dampness. And yet it does. In my pocket I finger a stone. It is oblong, rounded, smooth, carrying memories of a far removed sea. As big as my thumb, it fits perfectly into my palm. I pass the bench now; the bench where He used to sit. Every morning with his smile. His eyes. But never again. Memories and miles seal the coffin as well as death. If we knew now only what we would have known then.

She took my hand and helped me out of the car. She held my hand in her own and I followed as she told me where to turn and when to step up. Mort Noir, One Cursed Night

Fiction - Posted by Erishkigal on Saturday, November 23, 2002
Entertainment The trees reached for me like starving children, bony arms outstretched, desperate for food. I was vaguely aware of the sharp, vicious branches cutting my face and body, snagging and slashing my clothes as I raced through the forest. I stumbled over twisted, gnarled tree roots embedded in the dirty ground, hidden by the fallen autumnal leaves in rich shades of gold, red and burnt umber. As you descend to the base floor from the parking garage, you immediately inhale 6 years of cigarette tar in to your lungs, and while the first time you smell burnt tobacco it can have a musk to it reminiscent of a campfire of sage, more than 6 minutes of it is like a campfire made of poison ivy. Casinos are starting to put cigarette dispensers back on the all-gaming floors, a not neccesarily daring move but a smart one, which are the kinds of moves that keep casinos alive and running the one armed bandits into success.

Entertainment I kissed her. I was expecting something, but what happened next surprised me so much I stopped. She kissed back; that I was prepared for, but the hunger in her response made me dizzy. Her lips were like soft petals and I wanted to revel in them, but she crushed her lips to mine. I felt her teeth meet mine through our lips and I tasted blood. I wasn't sure whose it was, and I didn't care. I was lost. I could feel her shaking and I slipped my arm around her. I opened my eyes to see her face while we kissed and the look in her eyes shocked me so much I did stop. There was that hunger there yes, but the pain was so overwhelming I didn't know what to do. I saw a trickle of blood trailing from her lip and knew it was she who bled. "Did I hurt you?" I reached out to touch her lip and she broke into tears.

This paper, fat with wrinkles, offers her possibilities beyond the yellow college-ruled rose after rose after rose she is accustomed to using for verses of love and pain, blackened with wet double crossings of heavy ink, smeared, wasted, bitter similes and catastrophic metaphors. The day! The day will be wonderful when her story comes true, when her words actually mean exactly what she intends. But still, the paper may end up in the trash, crumpled yellow and black, bumblebee rose, still full of stings. Full of itchy poison. Someday. But this is now and this paper is empty as this future is blank - waiting for just the right thought to come through just the right pen.

He runs from his throne, throwing down the crown, and out the large doors of his castle.
The fool sits among friends in the bar, talking of things long past, joking of jokes long told, and remembering debts unpaid. The fool laughs heartily over all, but enjoys no real joke, for the fear of tomorrow resides in the fool like an ever-present specter, destroying his faith and making him what he is- a fool.

Once there was an Angel, once there was also a devil. If you were ever to tell the difference between the two, you were truly blessed. Beyond the shadows and into the light, beyond the light and into the shadows, there were two worlds, two ways of benevolence. There was no difference, no black, no white but a gray haze between them all. A dreamer's world of both light and dark, neither beauty nor hatred of this or the other. White feathers turned black or gray with this mixture of shadow and light, Angel's wings turned hazy and faded gray while the devil's own turned a whitish maze of a halo's aura.
