Nicolette held the rod in her hand and eyed Rose's quivering body. Rose was now breathing slowly and evenly, but the tension of her body belied the tension in her soul. The pause in action allowed my arousal heightened senses to take in the room and I calmed my own raging emotions by identifying the scents and sounds of the dungeon. The tang of our sweat lay over the smooth fragrance of warm leather. The raw smell of denied orgasm a perfect counterpoint for the gentle sound of the chains as Rose's slight movements shook them against the post.
I could see the gentle glow of dawn just peeking through the casement windows as we stood in the candle light. I could feel my own heartbeat, rough and hard at first, slow to a steady rhythm as I meditated on the room itself. I imagined I could feel the waves of intensity washing through each of us and filling the room with an aura of sexual frenzy.
When at last I felt Nicolette stir beside me, I was unsurprised to see the calm that had come over her face. Her breathing was slow and careful. We turned to look at Rose, and for a split second, I could see that she too had shared in the moment of tranquility, but the shift in our focus that could only signal the beginning of her punishment had obviously taken it's toll on her calm and her breathing spiked immediately. Her shoulders tensed against the chains, and I could see a fresh sheen of sweat break out on the line between her shoulder blades and the subtle moan of anticipation returned to her normally silent breathing.
"Now, Rose, we will commence with your punishment. You are to count out the lashes. There will be nine of them, do you understand." Nicolette waited for Rose to nod before she began. As soon as Rose nodded her understanding, Nico stepped forward and extended her arm to its fullest, the cane whipped around and described a humming arc in the air that was punctuated first by the startling pop of contact and a split second later by Rose's cry of pain. We waited a full ten seconds while Rose took deep sobbing breaths. Just as Nicolette had opened her mouth to speak, Rose gasped out a single phrase.
"One, Mistress."
And so it began. Nicolette's control was perfect. On the first swing, the cane had whistled through the air and bent to leave a single flat line across Rose's left butt cheek. Now, Rose hung against the post for another moment before the second stroke fell. Nicolette left a line parallel to the first, it burned bright red against Rose's pale flesh and the jolt it sent through her body was stronger than the first. The pause was slightly less this time, but the pain in her voice was stronger, louder, and it held a hint of pleading.
"Two, Mistress."
Time slowed as my heart raced and I watched the next lash flow through the air in slow motion. I felt as though I could see detail down to the atomic level as I watched the cane disturb dust motes in its path. I could smell the leather and as I shifted my focus to Rose's face, I could see the heartbeat in her throat just below her chin.I watched her lips tighten in anticipation of the next strike and at the same time I watched her lips swell as the blood rushed to them in response to her increasing arousal. On impact her cheeks hollowed as she inhaled sharply. The I watched as she caught herself and leaned against the pole for just a moment before speaking as commanded. This time her voice was a low husk and I would have been hard pressed to find anything but sex in that tone had I not been watching the pain occur.
"Three, Mistress."
The caning went on and as each blow was struck, Rose's voice became more guttural, more erotic, and by the ninth blow, so full of sex that I could feel it rolling off her in waves. I was surprised to find that Nicolette had somehow recalled her slave and the girl was kneeling with her head leaned against Nicolette's thigh. A moments observation revealed that the slave was nuzzling and kissing the cloth over Nicolette's crotch with slow but determined attention and I could tell that Nicolette was not letting the attention go to waste. Similarly, as the caning came to an end, I watched Rose's body writhe as she rubbed herself against the pole. She was so close to orgasm, brought there by the sharp impact of the cane, that she could no longer control the movements of her body. A moment later, just as I fully expected to hear Rose raise her voice in orgasm, I heard Nicolette sigh and saw her shudder next to me. She had her fingers twined in her slave's hair and even as she came she spoke through clenched teeth.
"You will not come without permission Rose. Do not move, do not speak, do not think without permission. Do you understand Rose?" Rose froze where she half-stood, half-hung against the pole. She had one leg lifted off the ground and wrapped around the post. Clearly this was to give her better access to the pole in front of her, but it presented a beautiful view of her body as she hung there, totally naked, and open to my gaze. I saw how swollen her labia were, I saw the glistening trail of her essence where it snaked down her thigh, I saw the clench and release of her buttocks as she tried to bring herself off through sheer determination. Then I saw the flog that Nicolette placed in my hands.

Damn, you had to stop right there, didn't you! I guess you're playing us as masterfully as Nicollete does Rose, you sadist you. Just don't leave us hanging too long, please, we've been waiting forever as it is!

Of course I had to stop righht there! Heh, In this case I can actually promise that you won't be left hanging. Chapter 24 was broken into three parts due to some complaints of eye strain, but rest assured the entire chapter is written and submitted. It'll come out over the next few days or so, i'm not privy to the actual scheduling, but it's all there!

I actually found it to be quite difficult to get into this chapter because it has been so long. I went back and skimmed the previous chapter and realized where we were left off. Please don't leave us hanging like that again. This is such a great story.

I dodn't realize I was actually leaning forward towards the screen until I got to the end, and realized, dammit, that was the end. I need closure! Or something like that. I can't wait for more. Excellent writing as always.
