Wanted: Advice From People Experienced With Magick |

Schizo on Monday, July 09, 2001 - 08:02 AM PST
Yes, this is from me, Schizo, the resident Christian. But my boyfriend and I are starting to study into the practices of Wicca, and I would appreciate any input from someone more experienced than I so I don't make any too-painful mistakes.
You see, his ex is a witch. So are her sisters, so is her mother. She has cast spells on him and says she has cast spells on me. Whenever she comes over to our house to drop off the kids or whatever, the house feels tense for hours afterwards. Her negative energy seems to fill anything that he brings over from his old home.
Besides, my boyfriend is a powerful natural psychic, and I have a knack for prophetic dreams. We bought some books, and we are studying them out carefully. I read a few chapters out loud to him every day. And the more I read, the more I realize that this is not something to be entered into lightly. No matter how much we seem to need cleansing and protection. Or how much we want to be able to better use our talents and discover new ones.
If you are wondering what is going to happen to my Christianity, it's staying right where it is, deep inside my heart. I have no problem believing in gods and goddesses. And I think I have always believed in magick. To me, God made everything, and he put a lot of great and powerful things into His creation that we don't fully understand, such as magick. The gods and goddesses are real, but they are under Him. I trust God for healing and cleansing and protection, but I see nothing wrong with also using help from other sources, just like I would go to a doctor to set a broken leg even though I trust God to make it heal properly. God expects us to use the resources He has given us.
So, any words of wisdom? I would appreciate them.

Im not a a full on pagan but i do know what your talking about and what you have going there is a nice thing. You guys are building a system of learning all on your own and that is very important when involving yourself in the wiccan belief.. if you want to have your christianity that is fine. Most wiccans respect each others beliefs and if you want that belief and it makes you comfortable.. that its okay. Coz really wiccans are all about the earth.. the land the air the water... all of it..
I have found alot of teachings in that path have made me a much more mellow and calm person.. and alot of the people i have met that have been wiccans have been the same way.. and they are a very enjoyable pleasurable crowd full of the joy of life and buety of nature. If there is anything you would like to know about anything.. you are more than welcome to ask me.. I have much knowledge and i love to share...

well, here's MY turn as the resident satanist....
I studied wicca when I was in highschool and have read/researched it years ago...I know a fair amount about it, but I have to say it is FAR to passive a mindset for me, and no offense, but if I hear one more "blessed be" or "merry meet" I'm going to stick a fork in my eye.
On to "the ex"
Things are tense because she is the ex....and probably because she is one of THOSE people, the ones that are adept at making everyone and everything feel rotten (hint hint...that's why she's an EX!). Her "I'm a witch and so are my mom and sisters.....boo." routine is probably nothing more than monkeysmoke and psychological intimidation. She's probably full of it, you know....a REAL witch with her eye out to do you wrong you won't SEE COMING. Her "evil eye" routine is a weak and simple means of making you work the dirty deed on YOURSELF. Seeming how you are xian, and that I'm NOT here to "convert" anyone, I could care less what religion people belong to...but you want a good book on getting your balls back and twisting this rotten wenchy stupid wanna be witch into a quivering ball of bitch? It's a series, by anton lavey, the founder of modern day satanism "the devil's notebook" and "satan speaks". They are light, easy reading and hillarious. I learned ALOT...they are good reading regardless of your religious affiliation...like neitzche....
I'm a little too fire and brimstone for "cleansings" and misspelling words like "magick" and "faery". I say get a good fabric and cotton effigy pulled together and F* her S**T up! If anything, stabbing the snot out of something that looks like her once a day will do WONDERS for your anxitey and anger level....Just remember, hon, it's ALL ABOUT YOU. None of this collective togetherness hippie treehugger shmeng, the solution starts and begins with you. Besides, why limit yourself in your studies? And anton is loads of fun regardless...it's light humor and serious philosophical thoughts in plain black and white minus the B.S.
good luck with itchbay...did I mention I make custom voodoo dolls?

A respectful newbie's 2 cents: Your sweetie's ex can declare herself to be the Wicked Witch of the East, it doesn't mean you should be looking for a handy tornado and a disposable house. (1) from Mesoamerican paganism to modern versions of European "Wicca," true practitioners know acts of spite will only rebound big time. Nobody needs special powers to generate extraordinary negativity. (2) She can't fight the one thing she's managed to distract you from focusing on. Love. It's what your faith is supposed to be about. Use it. Otherwise, you're taking up time, energy and peace of mind playing a game where she's set the rules.
