Articles: Self Appointed Gothic Critics |

Countess Jessika's cheesy goth pics article had me up in flames! She wrote what she hates most in pictures, and I'm okay to that, but I guess the fact that she had the nerve to showcase AND rename some of our pictures really irked me. I thought one of the things all true gothic people shared was an open mind to things not necessarily to your liking.
In general, critics piss me off. The flaunt their opinions like everyone should revere them as harbingers of power and style. Maybe its just becasue of what happened in the photo gallery, but I think this person should be tarred, feathered, and then deep fried, just like the old hen she is. These are the kinds of gothic people that give the rest a bad name.
And what does she have against lace? Lace, in my humble opinion, is goth as fuck.
People like her are what the world needs less of.

Ok I just rencently went to that deadjournal website that Devin posted on the home page "Cattyfight" and I am pissed beyond the point of being pissed. I have never seen such an ignorant person in my life!
I mean who the hell is this person to come onto this website and then talk trash about the people here. Its rude and they only sound like a total idiot! This person decided to take a picture of my sister (Violet-Death) and myself.... I'm sorry but I am just so mad that its not even funny. I know some other people got ripped on worse than I did, but DAMN!
I think something needs to be done but I don't know what. any ideas? They would be most appreciated. IF you havent gone to that website you might want to. My sister and I, as well as another Shmenger has already posted our two cents and some b*tch that said my picture made her laugh.
Do I really look Like I am about to have a seizure in that picture. And so what if my sister and i like to do s-m stuff together! I don't appreciate being one big laugh, and I certainly don't like the thought that my picture was linked to without me knowing it! that really just pushes my buttons!
Please go there and read all the b/s that person has to say and tell me if you like it or not, and if anyone has any ideas about getting even please let me know!

I liked how I could tell who's comments were who's even tho they were all posted as anonymous on her site, and unsigned.

well, I went there to defend myself (I wrote some big long rant) and SHOCK you now have to register before you can defend yourself. the work of a coward you can't stand the reactions to her unprompted bashing session? I think so. I didn't feel like wasting my time registering after I found out that you STILL can't post a reply until you have responded to her conformation email to an address that I haven't used in years, I just had to put something down, so darn, I guess I won't jion her amazing site that she didn't create (not much really) after all.

I have too much time on my hands, I admit it. I went all over the site in question. Well as many places as i could get since parts were broken (the members list, the search function, and a few times the register page timed out).
But in hopping around and reading all about the kids, and this is not to bash voyeurs or exabistionists, wanted to tell us with whom they were trying to sleep in detail. In every other entry. and twice in most entrys.
I then did a search to see what kind of pages and sites link with this unnamed site. the first say 30 are other journal entrys or bio-pages that tell us all about thier nascent sex life as well. Oh and one page in French where they were trying to figure out how to name an array, but they whined about a lack of life as well.
I flipped a few pages further in to the search ans saw that this trend continued so i stopped. That seemed like enough research to say that we have, for sure, been oggled at by someone that likes to expose themselves to strangers and my guess would be, is have trouble getting strangers to look. This is that line between a flasher in a dirty raincoat and an exabitionist.
as to making a big deal out of it, this site has many active readers and we all suffer from curiousity. many of us, self included, like to talk. As you are a new member (did you do that just so you could get more attention by responding to us when we talked about your 'cute' write up?) you may not have noticed that yet. We post here for the express reason of making a big deal out it the proverbial it. and to make bad jokes about PJs.
Things that made me laugh, to paraphrase, "what lusers! they all use fake gothic sounding names. Im glad i used my real name!" and "They are trying to hard. my advice would be to remove the some of the white make-up, get younger, and look just like me" so she is a countess and the model for 'goth'? So that countess part is a family title, not a cheap rip off of a fiction character? And isnt it trying to hard to make the background of a pic as gothy as the forground? Isnt it true that you can be goth even if you LIKE the flowered bedspead that your dead grandmother gave you?
I think we are dealing with suburban, middle america goth here, where we all have to fit someone else's mold and ideology just to escape the worst of the verbal abuse. Get a personality and some life experience before you try to judge the whole world little jess (yes we know that is what your friends and family call you, since it is your real name). Try not to make too much fun of what you will be, if you are lucky, in 10 years.
Oh and get a real site.

Heh, Where to start. Actually I know where to start. To all those who had their pics bashed I can commiserate and because I know you I have more sympathy for you than for the return bashing 'Jessika' has taken, but what I am about to say goes for all of us.
Welcome to the world
Every time we post an article, every time we post a comment, every time we send in a picture, we are opening ourselves up for the same kind of treatment we get when we walk down the street in full regalia. As we've just seen, twice in fact, the net is a big place, but we tend to see the important parts. First off Jessika found her way here to our safe haven. I still think what she did was morally wrong, but we invited it by posting in a public place. I for one am not about to stop. I enjoy the lime light and crave the attention; but then again, I'm a scorp.
Devin in turn found Jessika's site, and (Because I'm on this side I will arbitrarily say it was less wrong) we bashed the hell out of her. As we've seen so recently, no amount of flame wars can change what has happened. On the other hand they do occasionally make one feel better, and I will say this in the Shmengers' defense, she was actually asking for it by bashing us, and more specifically "she started it!" but just remember, everyone is entitled to their opinions, if they post them on the 'net though, well that makes em fair game.
I'm not sure what I ended up saying there, I've only had two sips of tea (My source of caffeine for the day) so I'm not really awake yet.
