Welcome to Employ A Kid!
You've heard all of those sponsor-a-child programs asking you for money. You've seen the countless commercials showing malnutrition running rampant. Only a cold callous person wouldn't want to help the children in some way. Sure, you can pick from dozens of foundations to donate money to, but as a good American you have to wonder, "What's in it for me?"
Unlike other programs to feed hungry children, we here at Employ a Kid believe that donating out of the goodness of your heart should be a two-way street. That is why when you donate money to help a starving child, you don't just get a "thank you" note in return. Instead, you recieve a thank you note, along with a steady supply of the hottest designer clothing.
That's right, your money is used to feed the starving child, as well as to purchase the raw materials needed for your child to make you the latest in designer fashions. The more you donate, the harder they work to keep you looking great! You can get all these wonderful designer labels!

Eh, I don't wear anything from those companies anyway. Don't go for sports products either... I'd rather do that holiday thing, where you buy a poor family in an underdeveloped company a pair of sheep or a beehive...

Re: Help a Child Today !!! by Domkitten (saradevil@saradevil.com) on Aug 26, 2003 - 03:08 AM (User info | Send a Message) http://www.saradevil.com | You know Meranda I donated a goat last year in the name of several various people I know, not forgeting one singular lupine, but I have one complaint about the animal, product donations. There is absolutely nothing to show for it. This is not a selfish concern, like "where are my letters from my happy family? where are the pictures? where's my goat cheese?"
No, I was happy to give the goat, and hope it is helping someone somewhere, but I really would like to have known where the goat went, or maybe what village it went to. I've seriously wondered if I didn't plop down some money for a goat that just want into a disreputable pocket. I found that rather irritating.
I do have to say though, that I think it is much nicer to give families in need something which can help them with both an immediate need for food, but also a continuing need with econmic issues and status issues. Giving livestock, bees, and etc, is, I think, a better prospect than money.

If I were in their situation, that's what I'd want for the holidays. btw... I meant to say country up there, not company. the coffee hadn't kicked in yet... |

I have to admit Geist, I've missed your awful sense of humor. This was seriously the funniest thing I read all day, so funny I peed all over my Doc Martins, so I figured that for an easy 10 bucks I could get them replaced (and some other cool stuff to boot). What a wonderful world we live in.

Wasn't sure whether to laugh or cringe at this one, Geist. I could easily see Tom DeLay rubber stamping his great big seal o' approval all over this idea.
