Articles: Sindel Got a Job |

Well, you all know that I have had a modelling website for some time now, almost a year actually. Those of you who didn't know... Well, you do now. I updated the site in March and will have a members' section open soon. Anyway, it's gotten me many "job opprotunities" but, I have usually been rejected later because the big bad busy business people were to infatuated with my look to read that I am a minor. Recently, I happened to get a job but surprisingly, it wasn't for modeling...
Writing has been a hobby of mine since elementry school. People have had different opinions about my work. What do you expect? They are people and of course, they are gonna bitch about one thing or another. This guy (at first we thought he was a girl because his name happens to be Tracy), he emailed my agent and told him about a magazine he will be coming out with Julyish or so. My agent failed to tell me what exactly the magazine was about, but I had to write a biography for the first edition.
I have to tell you, I never pictured myself writing articles. I always thought about novels or some other type of writing. Why on earth would he think just by my poetry that I could write articles? I guess I will be doing it though. I wrote the bio and when Tracy got the email from my agent, he took a good week to respond. I was terrified. I thought the man hated what I'd written.
Yesterday, I got a call from my agent and he told me Tracy had emailed him back. He told me that the response was not as he expected. I automatically thought that he was going to complain. The first word happened to be "Dammit." I was about to bitch at my agent because I happened to think my work was great. I had worked hard on this. The complete sentence read, "Dammit, if all the other writers would submit bios as good as this I would be a happy, happy man." I got my self-esteem boost of the day.
I will hopefully get more work from my site, maybe some of it will even be modelling soon. But why do you think this guy would hire me to write instead of model? Should I not think about it and just take the money?

I'd say, go ahead and do it! What do you have to lose? If he thinks you can write maybe you can. It would be good to expand that part of you. And if you don't end up liking it, you can stop any time, right?
Besides, as fun as modelling may be, it doesn't tend to be a very stable career. Eventually, every model gets to the point where it's menopause and incontinence ads or nothing. It would be good to have something on your resume besides being photogenic, to prove to future employers that yes, you DO have a mind as well as a face and body.
I assume that you can both write and model at the same time? Unless your life is too full? You're in school, right?
Anyway, that's my two cents.

Yes, you should take the job. It would most likely be good experience for future work. BTW, you should write more, I just read Cruel fantasy.
