Ok everyone knows that phone companies suck rocks through a cocktail straw. They are the butt of almost as many jokes as the post office, or Imelda Marcos.
I have always hated dealing with them. They spell my name wrong, send bills late or early, call to sell me services i've turned down a zillion times, and never seem to be able to send a bill that makes sense. Never. Not once in my phone-bill-paying life.
My latest gripe with my ex-phone company is that they keep sending me bills. I paid the blood suckers off when i changed companies last time, but every 10 days or so they send me new bills.
Yes i mean bills. There are always two bills in my mail box from the dreaded paperwork generating fools. The worse part is that the two bills that arrive on the same day from the same company from the same address is that they never agree. One says that they owe me money and one that i owe them more money. The envelopes look the same. The return addresses look the same.
The only parts that change are how they have misspelled my name and how much money is involved. Ever since I moved here and got the original number they have misspelled my name. Every bill that they have ever sent me has had some mistake on it that would have cost me extra money.
Every single time they have sent me a bill, they have gotten it wrong. Most phone companies get at least part of the bill right at least most of the time, but not Verizon. They get it all wrong everytime. Every single time.
Every 2 weeks I call and talk to the "customer service" people for about 20 minutes and they tell me "gee I have no idea how that could happen". Every two weeks they tell me the same thing. For 2 and 1/2 months now they have told me the same thing. Every two weeks. "Gee i have no idea how that happended". I do but I'm too polite to say it here.
On the positive side, the bill keeps getting smaller and the refund (that never has shown up) keeps getting bigger. Someday i will be free from Verizon and the 3rd level of hell from whence they sprang, but for now, its time for that 20 minute phone call... Wish me luck

I hear ya i get those damn telemarketers all the time most of the time i say "sorry he's dead" Or "Oh thats right he went to jail for murdering a telemarketer. It works every time, try it

When phone scum call us, he'll cycle through about six different character voices. My favorites are the flaming queen, the foreigner who misinterprets every English phrase, and the Attorney, who interrogates the phone scum about all the particulars of the contract disclaimers. It's better than Comedy Central.
