Articles: ParaNormal oogie's that go BUMP in the night |
Posted by

I have always had a interest in the paranormal. why they do the things they do and why they inhabit places. I thrive on it. I go to book stores and buy the cheeky paranormal books.. i look up the internet sites on real ghost stories and photos... I find it interesting. I even go as far as go on trips to places *JUST* so i can take pictures and see if i can capture anything on camera.. i have been sucessful twice.. but of course when i least expect it.
Well.. i now can say i had a experience with something.. i am not sure who or what.. Monday night.. i came home with my best friend after having dinner. I closed my kitchen door and locked it and went into the living room to sit and chat with my friend. About twenty minutes rolled by and we decided to grab a drink.. We walked back into the kitchen and my best friend had noticed *gasp* the kitchen door was open. but that isnt just the freaky part.. the door was open and both the locks on the door were pushed outwards.. i didnt do it. she didnt do it.. who did?? *insert eeerie music here*

If you are interested, I have some photos and experiences that I would not mind sharing with the group... if people would be interested.

Paranormal oogies are NO FUN.
I had paranormal oogies in my garage bedroom growing up, and if you've ever woken up with something black and damp and opressive feeling breathing on your face and paralyzing your body, you'd understand.
If you've ever had the lights go on and off in the shower, you'd understand.
If you've ever woken up from a horrible dream to find you are totally paralized, then hear a child's voice laugh, and feel tiny bare footprints run up your body, springboard off your head and out your window and are unable to regain motoin for another two excruciating minutes, just lay there in pannic watching the clock tick, you'd understand.
I'm glad you're boogies are tricksters, and not rotten little sleep disturbers.
Has anyone else had a case where the candles in a certain room would mysteriously bend or curl over without reason, but would be left unharmed in others? It's wierd, they would do that in my bedroom from any position, windows open, windows closed etc.
Life's little oddities, you know?

Met a grandfather of mine who died five years prior to my birth through what some would call spooky circumstances. Often the experience is shaped by your own fears, like acid trips. |

I've got an active imagination still, but I'm also a very realistic person not given in to hallucinations or acts of imagination. When I see something, it's cause it's THERE....and it's usually holding my ass dead still 'cause though I'm terribly out of shape, I can make a mad dash akin to an amtrack train down hill when spooked.
I've had encounters with my grammy frequently after she died when I was 16. I was really devastated when she died, until I dreamed of her, and she was in a room full of people and she found me and hugged me and told me she was doing great, and that she had bubble bath and lots of free time, that she missed us and was waiting...not in heaven, she said, but here.
Wierd, not an oogie, but still is sort of unsettling in a peaceful sort of way. |

Re: ParaNormal oogie's that go BUMP in the night by Meranda_Jade (scurtis510@home.com) on Aug 24, 2001 - 11:11 PM (User info | Send a Message) | That happened to you too, huh? I've told that one (about the dark thing paralyzing you) to people before and they said I was having a nightmare... creepiest thing...terrified me... There was one time, when I went to bed, and was struck by paralysis as soon as my head hit the pillow, and all noise stopped, not even the wind blowing... then I shook off the paralysis, and went into the hall and everything had a greenish glow to it... I went into the living room, and saw my roomate laying on the couch (he was supposed to be at work) and as soon as I spoke to him, I was back in bed, trying to shake off the paralysis.. this went on a few times, and every time the things in the living room would change... like the television would be in odd places... like the ceiling... and every time I tried to get him to help me, it would reset... finally I just stood there and looked at him, and he opened his eyes (which were already open), and the new eyes were a gold color, creepiest thing and I can't explain it any better than that.... and asked, "so, have you found it yet?" "What?" I asked... "what you've been looking for" he replied... I was back in bed and I shook off the paralysis again, then the sounds came back, and everything looked normal... I looked at the clock and the whole thing had taken an hour, exactly... my roommate was still at work... that was not a dream... the funny thing was, it took me a while to notice that anything strange was happening, or that I was repeating...
the other time I had an occurrence like that, I was in my own apartment, I'd just been there about a week... I got that paralysis, and I felt this big black creeping thing hovering over me... I fought it, and it spat something onto me... when I shook that off, I ran over to my neighbor's apartment, panicked, and told them what had happened... they went over and cleansed the place for me, and gave me some charm to keep it away... I could still feel the stuff the thing had spat onto me... they said it was psychic residue.. those were two of the strangest things that ever happened to me...
haven't had any episodes like that for a while, but it is very frightening when it does happen... |

Re: ParaNormal oogie's that go BUMP in the night by necromancer (raina_dillon@hotmail.com) on Apr 12, 2002 - 10:41 PM (User info | Send a Message) http:// | NO, they are not fun!
Okay, first let me turn on the lights in the house. Lights are now on. I'll tell you now that I am not on anything. Hopefully writing about 'it' won't attract it to me tonight. I don't think it is a ghost. You'll understand soon.
I started seeing ghosts when I was little, like 4. I remember very clearly because I would ask my mom about them and she told me that whoever/whatever I saw didn't exist. It was all my imagination. But I don't see them anymore, just occasionally feel one.
Well, we moved a few years later. My parents actually built the house themselves, so it wasn't the house, it was the land. *okay, big chill* I don't know how big of an area this covers, but big enough that when my parents built a second house a few years later about 1/2 mile away we were still on it. While building both houses, we found some indian stuff buried in the dirt.
Started with just little things like hearing my name whispered into my ear and actually feeling the breath brush against my cheek. First, it was just this one, that I was aware of anyway. Later a wolf. It sure looked like a wolf. He was friendly. I think he was like a guard dog or something. I've only seen him once, the rest of the time I heard him crossing the wooden floors. A bunch more stuff happened, but it was all benign.
When we moved 1/2 mile away to the second house, they came along. Nothing bad yet, just weird freaky stuff. When I was in my teens, I tried to commit suicide. That's when things got bad. It's like something woke up. Hell, I don't know. I don't see why someone trying to off themselves would wake something up. But it seems that it did. I would wake up paralyzed, totally unable to move or breathe. Something extremely heavy would sit on me. It was so heavy, I couldn't even breathe. Then I'd hear shrill laughing right in front of me in the darkness. I would wake up the next morning and at first I thought it was just a nightmare. Then I would notice bruises and sometimes cuts. I really thought I was going insane or something. I did tell my parents, but they told me I had been reading too many Stephen King and vampire books. I think they thought I did it for attention. Not even.
The thing that scared the shit out of me was when it tried to get into my mind and body. I was sleeping at the time. It was like being icecold and sweaty at the same time. I heard what sounded like drums. I woke up but couldn't move at all not to even open my eyes. I swear I felt it moving around in my mind. The drums were beating furiously in my head. They were so loud that it was almost deafening. I started seeing purple splashes of color behind my closed eyelids. I started praying in my mind. As soon as I did this, it let up almost immediately. I wouldn't sleep alone after that for a month. It never did it again, but it was not gone.
I graduated highschool and enlisted in the Navy. It didn't follow me right away. After Basic, I was sent to Philadelphia for training. I was there for 2-3 months and got to talking to one of my room-mates about this type of stuff. She thought it would be cool if I called it. Stupid me. I did. I gave it a mental image of where I was located. It came.
Once again, it would wake me up by sitting on my chest, paralyzing me. But this time it was pissed because I had left it. I don't know how I knew but I did. The room-mate that had wanted me to call it in the first place felt it too and wanted me to get rid of it. How?
Soon after, I left for my new assignment in Hawaii. It did not follow. I will never do anything so stupid again. I don't fuck around with that stuff. If I see something or feel something, I let it go. I hope to God that I left "it" in that barracks room in Philly.
I'm sleeping with the lights on tonight. No wait. I am not going to go to sleep tonight.

Re: ParaNormal oogie's that go BUMP in the night by necromancer (raina_dillon@hotmail.com) on Apr 13, 2002 - 06:54 AM (User info | Send a Message) http:// | Starting to get pissed. This is the fourth time I've written this this morning. Everytime I finish this and get ready to submit it, my computer locks up. Coincidence? Anyway, writing about it last night brought all the memories back. And I accidentally fell asleep.
I woke up in the grip of a nightmare this morning. How could I have forgotten about the shaking? Eeesh, my skin is crawling with creepies and I'm drenched in sweat.
In the memory/nightmare, the harder I tried to move, the more violently I was shaken. I tried to call out and didn't have a voice. I couldn't breathe. I realized if I stopped trying to get free, the pressure pinning me down to the bed and paralyzing me would let up just enough to allow me to draw a small breath. I took my chance and screamed. Nothing came out. The pressure was overpowering again. I relaxed a moment then attempted to scream again. As soon as I did, I realized it was just a memory/dream and not really happening and woke up.
I am shivering. Am feeling very ill. I am going to go pray now. I just had a really bad thought. What I woke to this morning was only a dream based on a memory. When this took place a few years ago, what exactly was it trying to do? Would it even be possible that something could tear you out of your body? While your alive? It didn't use my arms or legs to shake me with, it was something under my skin. |

Re: ParaNormal oogie's that go BUMP in the night by callei (plyn@plynlymon.com) on Apr 13, 2002 - 10:38 AM (User info | Send a Message) http://www.plynlymon.com | You might want to try rinsing in salt water (boil the water first, let cool add salt, rinse) to help make the weakness go away.
The thing to remember about dead people is that they are PEOPLE; there are nice people and not so nice people. And they are all selfish.
This one has something very important (to them at least) that they want to tell you. The newly dead still use pictures and words to communicate, but the longer they are dead the more thier "language" changes.
You didnt go out of your way to invite a very selfish, mean dead into your life (yah know a mass baby killer or something) and you never mentioned if you felt actual malice from it (i think its a them personaly), so my guess is that it was trying to tell you something but no longer had words.
Pressing you down *could* have been thier way of trying to keep you alive. They like you and when you tried to take yourself away from them it scared and hurt them. they wanted to find the "badness" in your mind that made you want to go away. When you pray, you are afirming a will to live, so they can leave you and know that you are not going to go away.
I dont know what state this happened in, but you might have been near where lots of parents and tribe members watched as thier sons chose to die rather than accept occupation, jail, rape, and to watch the distruction of thier people.
a day or two before you move again, you may want to call it to you and talk to it, explain that you arent going away and that you thank it for its efforts to keep you alive. Give it smoke to play with (tobacco smoke from cigs is good, but some prefer cloves, no sage or "protective" herbs since you are asking it to join you), give it water to sip (on a saucer is best) give it a candle to play with. write the speach out first, (and learn it letter perfect so that if it trys to dig around in your mind you can say the words when it is in there).
call it and offer it these comforts, tell it your speach, and tell it that you are going to be moving again and ASK it not to follow, but to watch over you instead. Tell it that you are proud to have such loving family to care for you and that you will try to live up to the trust and faith and love that they have given you.
rince with salt water before you go to bed. This might help you come to peace with it, giving it the peace that it needs and you the peace that you need.
I was going to just email this to you, but on rethinking it, it seems that it might be good for others to see that there is help that doesnt damage you or the dead.
good luck. |

Re: ParaNormal oogie's that go BUMP in the night by necromancer (raina_dillon@hotmail.com) on Apr 13, 2002 - 06:06 PM (User info | Send a Message) http:// | Thanks callei. I am going to try all your suggestions. You are so rational. Do you have a lot of experience with them? At least you don't think I'm a crackpot. :)
It's been 7 years since I last had contact with it. I'd like to think it was friendly and loving, but I am so frightened of it. I always thought of it as a type of demon or something because I did feel malice from it. It was different than the others. The others were watchful and caring and playful. This one felt different. It felt powerful and scary. During that time in my life, I was experimenting with dark magick. I wanted to die. I know, call me "stupid". I tried to summon something and when it woke up and came, I ran screaming into the night.
I'm going to work on my fear and then call to it again. Maybe I can talk to it and apologize to it. Maybe we can come to an understanding.
Thanks again for the advice. |

Re: ParaNormal oogie's that go BUMP in the night by callei (plyn@plynlymon.com) on Apr 13, 2002 - 09:50 PM (User info | Send a Message) http://www.plynlymon.com | I have seen alot of "strange" things and yes i do have some experience with things that go and try to kill you in the middle of the night.
If you felt malice, try to think back and see if it was anger, hunger, or rage (the most common ones), if it was hunger, do not call it back. if it was rage, then it may be asking you to help it deal with its own death (this is usually from a violence , expected death with which the person was not at peace) and if it was anger, was it anger at you or at someone or something else? (this is often from people that had something important killed, hurt or stolen from them and that tainted thier lives and therefore deaths).
If it was angrey with you, it might be from you calling it from soemthing or someone important, or it could be the wolf being angery that you are being a warrior, risking a life that is important to those that cared for you when you were small. OR something like that. Only you know what you felt and what it told you, so think about it carefully and be honest with yourself. then you can be honest with it.
If there is anything i can do to help email me. |

Re: ParaNormal oogie's that go BUMP in the night by necromancer (raina_dillon@hotmail.com) on Apr 13, 2002 - 10:17 PM (User info | Send a Message) http:// | The first emotions that pop into my head are that it felt hunger and anger. The anger was definitely directed at me. I think the hunger was for life. If it truly cared about me and was not trying to harm me, then the explaination that makes the most sense to me is that it longed for life and was angry with me for trying to take mine. |

Some wild flowers, the sort that you find by the road, might be a nice gift for her when you call her. She wants you to live, wants one of her "babies" to live so that she can complete her need to mother someone to the point that they have children of thier own. she wants to be a grandma, and that would give her real peace.
Mothers tend to clutch at you chest, but leave your facce and neck alone. |

Now here is something interesting
There are two things I would like to post. First, I am a scholar of the Occult, have practised and cast so many things that fall off my memory, and have so many books, reports, info, etc, as I have laws. I have talked to damn interesting people, been in and out of tons of so-called hermetic orders (quite permeable, actually) and even met some people who seem really SERIOUS about magic.
Well in all that time I have not been able to do, or even see, something that can't be explained by science or sheer coincidence. Oh, yeah, I am a fucking good tarot reader and everybody says I have a gift, but I don't remember ever having visions, or predicting something radically unlikely that later happened. Oh, yeah, I have traved astrally and met tons of interesting people around... but no real proof. Oh, yeah, I have even had visions and last week I got REALLY scared while trying something that involved Asmodeo (in the end I had to quit, I knew I was safe but was so scared that I could never command him conveniently). Hell, I even have had shared experiences with co-invokers with some spells. I have had hypnosis time and again (anyone wants to quit smoking?) but that's pure science, nothing supranatural.
All of that can be explained, from sheer chance to collective hysteria, by science. I am still looking for a real proof, a sound, a telekinesis, a pyrokinesis (a real one, I can fake them quite convincingly), something to convince me that magic is real and there is such a thing as paranormal activity. That's why I would ask everyone here who has had any paranormal experiences to tell me about them.
Now, and this is my second point, isn't it funny that I should be a Roman Catholic without expecting similar proof of God's existence? Well, yeah, I have an experience of God, but that can all be explained as well... A thelemist I once knew long ago said that was my problem, that I asked for a proof which I should create when I believed. But... that's such a circular argument... Anyway it's curious I am as firm in my faith as firm in my scientific metodology about magic. I guess I am a damned cynic... that's why I ended here, haw haw.
Arthegarn
P.S. Vampcourt and specially Bettie, you can always use the old remedy of having your house exorcised by your diocesis's exorcist (there is at least one by bishop). It takes a little paperwork but in the end it gets done, and I have been told results are inmediate and definitive (I talk about Catholic ones, sorry I can offer no more info about other faiths' but I live in a catholic country and have never been interested in that aspect of Comparate Religion...) If you want more info, contact me.
