Word! Put on your ass kissing boots and shit eating grin, something may just come out of it!
My biggest problem with the "E Explosion" is that seattle GREW around the technology explosion, sucked it for everything it had, and made NO plans whatsoever for when the bottom inevitably fell out. Rent was ridiculous, but everyone could pay it because they were making $25 an hour at Amazon.com, or $40 an hour designing web layouts for the dime a dozen new e businesses. The city spent a TON in fostering a sandcastle, and then turned their back on the ocean.
You may have to settle education wise for part time college with as many scholarships and grants. It'll take longer, but well you have to do what you have to do. Hell, it's hard being in your mid twenties to thirties trying to go back to school, especially since you have a daughter, so sometimes we have to settle. What did you want to go back for? A basic education or an actual trade? A kid I work with, he's doing the smart thing. He's been in carpentry school, is going to graduate in a year and a half, and already has a $25 an hour job waiting for him and isn't letting anything stop him. It seems the only type of jobs that are reliable are blue collar jobs, and even then unless is something in demand like carpentry or mechanics.
I have to go, someone is yee hawing next door and I wanna make sure they don't set my bushes on fire.
