I have a friend who has permanent nerve damage in both her hands from playing cut-rate pervert with extension cords. Instead of spending all your time making things accessible for the impoverished and imagination-impaired, you could have prefaced your comments with a note about safety and legality. There are people in prison currently for their consensual adult activities (their partners, meanwhile, are statistics for natural selection) who exercised more imagination than common sense. Whether your article was meant as a joke or not, I subscribe to two D/s newsgroups that would never have run it because of its irresponsibility.

I never claim to be an expert in anything. I just offered some tips and hints for those who are down and out, or broke, as I have so often found myself.
Bondage and Discipline, however, does deal quite frequently with at least mild pain, as well as restraints, and most lay people, often think that B&D involves at least a spanking.
S&M is a far more distrubed world of fetish, but fetish, like religion, has numerous deviations and interpertations, and I would not want to hold myself up to be an expert on any of them.

Well, again, I don't proclaim to have any expertise in the matter other than my own experience. And the distinctions I make are based on classical reading of the subject. I would agree the BDSM is probably the safest description of the D/S scene as it is known today.
