I think that death is a way of life.
However, it's almost as if American society shuns the whole concept of death. We have a market on the living, the dead are not profitable unless they are famous. We also see this in the failure of government censorship on modern videogames, music, books, movies etc. *get the unrated version of a movie on a dvd, you beat the censors.*
Some people, as sad as it is, do it for attention, others try genuinely to end their life. I personally have tried many times. It wasn't a cry for help, I wanted to die...I still do. I slit my wrist once, tried to jump when I was10 (that is a long story), drank, drank, drank, drank...you get the idea. I swear, someone in Heaven likes to watch me suffer, and so I am here. If only it was easier to obtain a gun or jump from the Ben Franklin....
I’m getting off topic, sorry.
Anywho, different cultures have different views on, that’s right, different things. Since America is being run by Nazi-like conservatives, a good portion of the population is brainwashed, khaki covered and praying to a “God” that they can live to the point where walking to the bathroom is a marathon of its own. Because of this, local leaders tell everyone else what to think. Some buy it. Some don’t. Some don’t care.
Suicide is viewed as a “cowards way out.” I’ve heard this many times and to me, it’s almost insulting the deceased. I wanted to punch a teacher of mine in the face for saying that about someone who shot themself this final school year. I think it takes more bravery to end your life and face a uncertain eternity rather than live a few more miserable years on this dying, polluted, propagandized piss-hole planet feeding off of a Disney saturated society.
I shutter at the thought that our youngest generation is being raised on tv soaked with shows such as Lil Bill, Blues Clues, Tellatubbies (or however you spell that fucking name) and so forth.
Who knows how they will react when reality hits them with a sledgehammer in the face.
Will they be quicker to end their lives than we have?
