My apologies; it was not my intent to denigrate psychopixi personally and I did not intend my first post to this forum to be a slam against anyone. By your reaction, I am now concerned that I will be labeled and pidgeonholed, and that I will never really get the chance to become a member of this forum.
Not the foot I wanted to start out on.
It's unfortunate that you are jumping to conclusions. My gender has no bearing on either her argument or my response. I'm sorry that my point is lost in the reaction to what I had to say, but I don't feel my writing style automatically invalidates the issues I raised.
In my opinion, such a broad series of assumptions as to the motivations of an entire group only mirrors the same "isms" she feels are so wrong. I don't agree with her and, considering that this is a forum, I assumed she would respond to my post with a clearer and more detailed reasoning for her opinion. I am here for discussion, a give and take of information and an exchange of ideas. The knowledge I presented is not the total sum of the knowledge available on this subject and only represents my particular point of view. I don't claim to have a lock on some sort of "truth"; I am simply trying to learn what I can through the knowledge and opinions of others.
Personally, I would much rather discuss psychopixi's essay than sling insults back and forth. If the membership feels so strongly about the tone and content of my post that I am no longer welcome, let me know and I'll be on my way.
Respectfully,
- Heretic
