ummmmm.....
Yes it is, in a way. Its the mind set, not a particular action that I was speaking about. The mind set that says "my life sucks and it is your fault and i am going to make you pay"; the mindset that cannot beleive that other bipeds are at least as human as they themselves are; the mindset that says its ok to hate and distroy.
The mindset that accepts its ignorance, embraces it and refuses to learn.
I find that the Xian need to "help" other people often stems from thier need to help themselves. they know that they are miserable and need something to make it hurt less. Thier religion offers very little peace of mind for the individual (this is what it looks like from the outside, really) and, as they are only given ways to help others, the only way to fulfill that need for peace and help is through the forceful "helping" of others.
The belief that they are "right" and that others are "wrong" is what i object to. There is no "right" or "wrong", even the bible says that.
But the churches create pain in thier followers and then tell these followers, once they are scared and hurting and thier defenses are down, that the only way that they can feel less pain is to evangelize. the church never says that this will make the pain stop, just that it will lessen the pain.
My mother used to invite any and all door knockers in. She would talk with them, pray with them, read everything that they gave her, and be kind to them. they always left in tears. Sometimes they would come back and tell her that she was the nicest person that they had ever met and that she was a "real" Xian.
My mother is an elder in the tribe. that makes her a heretic. she is a healer or sorts and that makes her a witch. She never mentioned that to all the church people, that her heretical witchery is what helped her love them enough to let them into her house and treat them with the respect and concern that they deserve and NEVER receive from their churches.
She told me never to pity them, just be as kind as I could as thier lives were very unhappy.
The belief that there is a "right" way to be happy and only one right way is silly, dangerous, and disrespectful to all those that came before us. they didnt do things the same way that we do them. Does that make them evil too?
once again religion clouds the issue here. pretend that she had said "porn" instead of "jesus" and then see if you still think she did "wrong"
