· I posted a couple pictures of me, but I only see one!
The members gallery would just be too huge if there were tons of pictures of each person in there. Only the most recent pic of someone goes in the main member gallery. There's a link at the top of the gallery pages that says "More..." - If you click that you'll see all of the older pix. If you want to post more than one pic, and you want more people to see all of them, I suggest you post one, and then wait a day or two to post another.

· What are the rules?
Basically the idea is that to post pictures in the galleries you have to prove that you own the copyright. In the members gallery, you also have to prove that the picture is you. If you've already posted a pic under these rules, then I should have a picture of you already - or in the case of art, something that you've done to compare styles. If I don't already have something from you, then you have to PROVE to me that it's yours. Insisting won't cut it. If you can't prove it's you then you're not posting it - go to a picture post site and play there. In the future I might get some other people to help make this process easier, but right now I don't feel like it. (Mostly I just don't feel like writing all the code to make multiple editors for pictures work). Until then, the burden of proof is completely on the poster.

· What proof is acceptable?
- Getting on a live webcam with me and saying hi
- A large established website (sorry geocities sites are just too easy to build quick) with lots of other pictures of you, and an email exchange from the address shown on the site
- Get someone I know and trust to vouch for you. They have to have seen you in person.

· Would a scan of a driver's license do the trick?
Possibly. If you want to combine this with some other way of proving it's you - maybe a picture of you doing something that I tell you. A drivers licence scan alone isn't sufficient though.

· What other reasons are there why my pic wouldn't be accepted?
When you upload a picture, it gets resized to fit better into the site. If your pic doesn't convert well, It won't get posted.
- It was a weird size. Tall skinny pix mess up the layout of the site, and short wide pix look really strange when they convert.
- It started out too small. Small pictures look really blurry when they get resized to 500x500
- It blinked. Animated .gif's and other dancing baloney is cheesy as fuck. It also converts funny. Drivel it someplace else.
- There can be no spaces in the file names
- The file size has to be reasonable. Some files straight out of the scanner are just too big
- It's not yours
- It's not a normal image type. Images should be either .gif or .jpg format
- Make sure .jpg files have a .jpg extension, not .jpeg (and making sure it's lower case saves us work)
- Funny letters in the file name. If you have any letters in the file name that aren't either a number or an upper or lowercase english letter, it will get mangled, and we won't even be able to see it. Non-english accent characters can be used in titles and descriptions, but not in file names.
- If we try to approve your pic and it has the same filename as an existing file, yours will be incinerated. The best way around this is to give it a unique name. Calling all of your pix 'me.jpg' for example, is a very bad idea

· Should I contact you to prove my identity before or after I submit my pic?
Before is good - but you can post the pic first if you want. If I don't have an email or message on here when I go to approve the pic, I'll delete it though. So send the message right after posting the pic and I'll save it until we can work it all out.

· Who do I contact to prove that I am me?
You don't contact anybody. The members gallery is there so that we all can see who we're talking to. If you don't know who to contact, then obviously you're not talking to anybody. This would make you one of those people who just wants to splash their face around the net. Go to amigothornot.com or ratemyface.com or facethejury.com if this is what you want to do. If anyone here had any interest in seeing a picture of you, you would know it. And you would know who to contact about getting it posted.

· I have tried posting my picture twice and no luck. I can verify that is me, several ways....I have spoken to closetgothbabe many times, she's even seen me on my webcam, and I've actaully known cyn-surreal in person for many years. I have many other pics of myself posted on my last band's website and also have many pics of myself on my yahoo profile briefcase... is there anything else I need to do to prove that it's my pic?
Telling me who you are would be a good start.

· Would a scan of a student ID and a picture of me doing something you told me to do work as proof to sumbit my photo to Shmeng.com? As I have no drivers license.
If you're convincing and it's a photo ID and you've been posting intelligent stuff for a while, then possibly Top

· What about the comments?
It goes without saying that you shouldn't be posting nasty stuff under people's pix. I don't care if it boosts your own self esteem. Knock it the fuck off. And regardless of what you're saying, please don't post more than a few lines at a time. If your flirtation gets so wordy that you have to write more than 2 lines, get a room - a private message is what is called for. That's why the lines are so short - the comments were made for saying stuff like "You're Cute" - not for writing someone an epic poem. I'm going to leave it alone for now and just hope everyone listens - but if people keep doing this, I'm going to code it so that each person can't post more than 2 lines per picture.
I had to add to this rule. I will now be deleting any comments that have nothing whatsoever to do with the picture. There have been a lot. Conversations should happen in the forums. The galleries were not designed to be chat rooms, get a phone card.

· All of a sudden, my pictures and comments are gone! Why?!
Probably because you haven't read the rules. At the time when this was posted, The Article explaining it all was at the top of the front page. If you were participating in more than the picture galleries you would have seen it.

· Why did you change the name of my picture?
Most likely because it was called "Me". If we let everyone name their pictures that, there would be no use in having a name field. Also if you included the word "Me" in the picture name. In most places, the picture name is shown without the submitter's name being on the page anywhere. Some people will probably know who you are if they click on the thumbnail - but in most cases, your face in the thumbnail will be too small for them to tell. Just use your username instead of "Me" and avoid annoying those who have to change it. Top

· I cannot figure out how to upload my picture on this website for other users to see. Will you please help me with this. I just need to know where to go on the website to do it. Thank you :)
If you haven't found it yet, then we don't want to see you. The members gallery is for people that we're curious about. People we've talked to and want to put a face with a name. If we wanted to see a picture of you it would be because you'd been here a while. In that case you would have already stumbled across the link to post a picture. This is also the reason that there is no link to post a picture for non-members. Top
