Today was a sad, sad day at sea. I was on the boat nightfishing with Esteban. I thought everything was going great, when Esteban dropped his pole and started toward me saying, "Look what you have done!" I was utterly stupefied and said, "What did I do?" I was dumbfounded because all I had done was cast my pole and stand saying nothing while the wind blew in my face. His pole dropped off the edge of the boat and he didnt even care. He grabbed me and threw me against the rail; I couldnt say anything. I was in complete shock.
He came after me with a bar stool and thats when I saw it in his eyes, he was having another spell. I ran from him in fear throwing everything I could find behind me, anything to block him from me. When I ran out of places to run I made a quick detour back to where this whole scene had begun. I looked behind me. He wasn't there. Where was he? I was trembling in insane fear. Dripping with sweat, I turned slowly back around. There he was right in my face. He slammed me with tremendous force against the wall. He screamed, "It's over now Eugene!" I managed to scream in utter fear, "Eugene's dead and so is Thomas, you are a mad man!"

"Don't talk to Esteban like that. Don't you know what happened last time?" was his dark reply. He reached for his back pocket and I knew what he was reaching for and I knew what he was going to do. I kicked him and ran. I ran for my life to the storage closet on the boat. He wasn't going to behead me like he did them, never. I grabbed a chain that was hooked to the floor beside me. I heard his mad grunts and groans muffled behind the door and the mad stomps of him heaving himself down the passage to my door. When he screamed, "Esteban is very upset with you Eugene! Don't make me summon your father." His words sent a chill up my spine; he was right in front of the door. I counted to three under my breath, I knew what I had to do.

I slammed open the door with all my strength. He fell to the deck and hit his head on the iron rail. Before he could get up, I wrenched it around his neck; choking him. I drug him down to the back of the boat; the chain digging into his neck cutting off his air. The sounds of his faint gargles still remains fresh in my mind. I managed to roll him off before he could grab the side of the boat.

Then I remembered..... I forgot to detach the chain from the hook in the storage closet. I heard a "snap"and I looked down slowly, I knew what it was. I cringed up inside realizing what I had just done and then my blood ran cold. I looked at Esteban hanging lifeless from the chain. His neck was snapped. I walked back up the deck. The chain was straining to hold his weight. I went back to the storage closet and got some chain cutters. I then, walked emotionless back to the deck and cut it. I heard his body splash into the sea.

I went back to my cabin and reflected on what had just happened. I killed my own blood. I then came to the conclusion it was either me or him, I chose him. Tomorrow, I am going back to the dock. Who knows what I will tell the people when they ask where he is.....but that's tomorrow.
