Has anyone ever noticed how horrible everything on television has become? Commercials on television have gone from simply explaining what a product does and how much it costs at your local grocer, to orgasmic, horny thirty-second almost porn short films. Regular programming has also become appalling to me. How every show these days have to deal with sex and violence is just horrid. Whatever happened to the clean television?
As I watched television one evening during the prime-time programs I saw a commercial that would drive anybody wild. The commercial was for Herbal Essences shampoo. As a woman was in the shower she began to tell the consumer about the product, but as she did, every other word was filled with the sound of her coming very near to an orgasm. We all know that mere shampoos cannot cause this type of arousal unless the user is doing something else to themselves in the shower. How is it possible that the FCC has allowed this to pass by?

Also, television programs have gotten completely out of hand. Programs like Sex and the City is a good example of sex on television. The violence is depicted in The Sopranos. It is not, however just HBO that is providing violent shows and sexual themes. ABC, CBS, UPN, and FOX also put in their share of despicable programming. It is not to say that I do not watch television, but the way they have this available to children is nauseating.

I baby-sat for a little girl once who was only six years old and was allowed to watch Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, along with any rated "R" movies she wanted to watch. My jaw completely dropped at her father's words about her being permitted to watch these Hollywood productions. Whatever happened to Howdy Dudy or Tex Avery cartoons? How about Sesame Street? Why is there not clean cut programming out there for children? I do not promote Disney for children anymore. That is taking me off on a tangent though, so I will leave that for another day.

So for all to see I have wrote this to express my views to the world (or at least the world of Shmeng). Television is going to hell in a hand basket, and it has slowly been going that way every since Lucy and Ricky shared a bed for the first time on television. Let us not accept this, let us refuse to accept it! Let us rise up against it and leave the porn in the Adult Supercenters, and clean up what children have the access to. Come with me, and we will make a trek to a place somewhere closer to Pleasentville.
