Topic Rant

Until I started working, I never realized how many stupid people there were (I already knew they were out there, just didn't realize how numerous they were). Until I started working I, I never realized how many bearded women there were either. I work in a 2nd run movie theatre, heres some of the things my coworkers and I frequently have to put up with.
Box Office
1. People complaining about the ticket prices despite the fact that they're only $1.25 to $2.00, or $3.00 at midnight and all the people who don't understand theres a difference between matinee and evening price.
2. People paying for a $1.50 ticket with a $20 bill. This happens so much more than it should. Seven people pay with a $20, then one or two with a $5 or a $10, then another 5 people pay with a $20. At least you can give people 18 $1 bills back for change.
3. People CAN NOT READ. I don't care what stastics say, half the population is illiterate. People mispronounce everything (one woman even refered to A.I. as A1) and read no signs. More on this later since it occurs mostly in the concession stand.

Concession Stand
1. People ask for courtesy cups. Courtesy cups we don't have. Then they bitch at us because they have to buy the cup. If we did have courtesy cups, we'd lose money on drinks, not to mention outside food goes through the roof and we lose even more money. This may sound like a simple thing, but when it happens over and over you get tired of it quick. Especially with various super-idiots who do shit like threaten to throw their drink in your face because you asked them to go get their cup if they want more ice instead of getting them another cup. Its called inventory.
2. As said earlier, people can't read. The main problem is that no one ever sees the "+tax" in the corner of our prices and hearing the same stupid question over and over gets quite tiring, but its fun timing things so they get extra pissed off. Like waiting until they've dug through all of their pockets trying to find the exact amount of change to say theres tax. Theres also a problem here with people being incapable of pronouncing candy and game names. When a game takes someones money its not unheard of to have to spend 2 or 3 minutes trying to get the name out of them, "that one" isn't exactly specific enough.
3. People taking 20-30 napkins for a small popcorn without butter
4. People who see our yellow butter salt and asking if its cheese. When was the last time anyone saw powdered cheese?
5. People trying to use the photo booth when its not working despite it being roped off. Some have even gone so far as to plug it back in.

Ushers
1. People trying to get in with outside food. This goes back to the illeteracy thing since its clearly posted that no outside food is allowed.
2. People coming up to you and asking you where a certain movie is before even showing you their tickets. If I still ushered I'd probably respond by giving them the theatre number if given the chance.
3. People going from one theatre to another. Why buy a ticket if you're not going to watch the movie?
4. My personal favorite, some people are so stupid that when two movies are sharing the same theatre and both names are above the door, you can tell them where their movie is and they'll come back and ask again, unsure that they got the right theatre because the name of another movie is next to that of theirs.

Specific Examples
1. One guy has a habbit of digging large popcorn bags out of the trash for the purpose of getting the free refill.
2. One time someone took a shit in the bathroom. On the floor. We threw away the broom/mop/whatever we used.
3. When we used to be owned by another company, before I worked there, I heard that we had coathangers on the bathroom stall doors and people liked to leave loaded underwear hanging on them and smear crap all over the walls.
4. I heard that one time some black guy asked the manager how much something was, then asked how much it would be if he were white. And another guy came in one time and said that we were racists because all the "white movie" posters were on one side of the wall in front of the box office while all the "black movie" posters were on the other side, and that wasn't even accurate. He came in and said the manager was trying to "keep the black man down". I hate raceism and in general discrimanation of any kind, but if someone is that stupid I almost want to say they deserve to be kept down (that individual person, not the group).
5. One time a woman came in and wandered towards one of the theatres. A coworker asked if she could help her and the woman proceeded to bitch about how she didn't need any help and how by virtue of the fact that she was a Georgian she wasn't stupid enough to try to sneak into a movie and risk the wellbeing of her daughter. She also called every resident of my state idiots. She was probably right, just not in the way she meant it.
6. One time a coworker and I were throwing small things at each other. Then he came out of a theatre he was cleaning with a half eaten large popcorn and tried to dump it on my head, did a crappy job cleaning it up, I had to clean it up, then claimed it was my fault it got all over the concession stand because I shouldn't have tried to block it, then pulled some selective memory shit and said it never happened. Later he was getting his own drink which hes not supposed to do (I'm supposed to get it for him) and I told him to stop. He didn't, so I tried to pull his hand away and he resisted, so I tried to pull his thumb back and he still resisted, and when I let go he dumped his drink on me. Then he dumped the rest on himself.
7. And this is the event that actually motivated me to make this post. A few days back these two women tried to buy tickets seperately. The girl working in the box office told them that the tickets were $1.50, and she was handed a dollar. She said she needed another 50 cents and the women started saying something about how they had already paid it and (I'm assuming based on later events I was present for) how "something isn't right". The then came in to the lobby and tried the same thing, I had to spend about 5 minutes explaining why when they buy something for $2.00 with a $5 bill, and get $3 back in change, and then want to buy something else, they need to pay the additional cost. They paid, but didnt stop complaining that they had already paid and that "something wasn't right" again. Then I had to help them cary their stuff to their theatre and the hole time I had to listen to the first woman ramble about how something wasn't right, how she paid with a $10 even though I know she paid with a $5, how she had just been bowling, and how she got hot when she wore her coat.

Varios other shit that pisses me off
1. People who treat women bad
2. Sexist/Racist/Ageist/Other prejudiced people
3. People who automatically shun someone who decides to do something weird (such as duct taping yourself to a chair)
4. Feminazis
