Just about everyone I know has lost at least one job over the last year, self included. I started to think that maybe my friends and I were all losers (I'm kidding) but then I began hearing people on the bus talking about how they've lost their dotcom job, or that they are "in-between" work.
Just this last summer I saw nerdy boys suddenly have the guts to try to pick up random girls on the bus...I saw the geekiest boy ask a girl for her email address once, yes, her email address!

Starbucks, Microsoft, Boeing, Earthquakes........Jobless Sniveling Gen-xers (ok, so I'm being harsh, but Seattle IS a strange place-I dig it.)

The best image I can leave you with is of my morning a couple of weeks ago...

I'm strolling up Pine Street at around 8:30 am. That one guy (if you know who I mean, you will find this hillarious) who always says "Does anybody have a dollar so I can get a bus to Tacoma?" was hanging out in front of the Bon as usual. As I chuckle to myself I near 4th Avenue, Westlake Center, the old Gap (yep, the one that was targeted during the WTO riots). I'm thinking all of this and I glance up...

There stands two guys, holding signs. Not the "need money for food" kind. Or the "can't lie - need it for beer" kind. Two tidy boys holding signs.

the sign I could read said:

Will Do Web Design for Food
