Questions:
1) So now, what do i do?
It seems to me you have run them off already. If you can get a small mirror and look into the roof, I hope you have only chased out the adults, and they have not left any infants or babies behind.
They have a very positive impact on your environment and looking at your picture of your house I would be greatful to have such animals about to keep the annoying insect population down. If I had that many of them around my place I would construct a home for them and leave the bugs and annoying insects to the bats. Do you by chance know what kind of bats they are? Some are federally protected and on the endangered species list.

2) How do I get rid of bats?
This depends on the type of bats, if you are serious about this and excluding them from your attic or roof, I would be willing to get you in contact with people that can do that in your local area, they would come in and remove them in a safe and protective method. there are many ways to get rid of them, there are double bat doors, live traps, etc. You can email me at adruidwolf@aol.com I can also give you some of the laws to protect yourself and make sure you wont be prosecuted for injuring them.

3) Do they have bat traps?
Yes they do, they are designed to protect the bat and remove them from the area in a safe and protected method.

4) Do I want to get rid of them?
A bat will eat I believe about 1,200 insects in an hour, they normally populate areas where they have a good food source so that may tell you something about your place and the insects. Bats also have very strong mythology and for some religous significance, one reason within the realm of Christianity they demonized the bat as being evil.

5) Is it sanitary to have bats in one's belfry?
It depends on the quantity of bats, If you can email me at the above address I will send you some information about this and some of the benefits.

6) Will they just leave in the winter?
Again this is dependent upon the species. Some bats are migratory, I know locally after the fall we will go in and close up "bat entry points" after they have left. WE also check for stragling infants. there is nothing worse than to have a dead bat in your walls or attic. So it really depends on the species and location. If you can email me and let me know, I can help or get you in contact with those that can help you locally.
