Then again, I could have not been briliant enough. I kinda wrote this for
'budding gothilings' who swear everyone 'hates' them. My reasearch turned
up MANY interesting sites and then it kinda turned into a sortta self-help
essay on do 'goths' have any real 'fuel' for their basis of the phrase
'everyone hates goths'? I concluded, not really. Certain groups hate
'goths' but most of them hate everyone else........damnit gtg. Ill finish
this later. I got a 9 month old screaming at me. ____________________

OK! I'm in college now, so no baby yelling at me! lol I love her to death
anyway, screaming or not.
ANYWHO! *re-reads what she's written...decides where to pick up again...and
GO!*
Certain groups hate 'goths' but most of them hate everyone else who don't
agree with them anyway, so no specific group should feel 'special'. I wrote
the article as a general consensis of the public. Now there are certain
personal experiances that everyone has endured--and if they haven't, they
will--that I'm not really going to include.
My personal example is this: I've gotten food thrown at me in the mall food
court by a retarded ICP fan because I was wearing a Good Charlotte shirt
and according to him, "Real goths hate Good Charlotte! They're nuthin but
punk posurs who make cookiecutter pop music an--" lol he got cut off cause
the security guard--which by the way, I am all friends with--came over and
personaly escorted that boy to the security office by the back of his
shirt. (Wait...can I be friends with the security guards and still be goth?
Am I not supposed to hate authority? AHHH! HELP ME! I'm so confused...lol)
His GF was trying to say that I started shit with them and she was escorted
back in the same manner. This all happened within a 3 min frame. They still
hate me to this day for making them get banned from the mall forever. I'm
like, dude. We live in Delaware. The next mall is 45 min. away AND they
have a Hot Topic. Go bug them up there. BTW, I like ICP, I don't hate all
ICP fans, just the ones from Delaware.
Woah, completely off track....but anyway, yeah. I wrote the article on a 6
hr whim and also in the midst of trying to prove to my mom and my church
that there are christian goths out there. I ended up with alot more
anti-christian goth sites than positive ones. That's another article for
another day... Anywho, if anyone is interested in reading it and also maybe
helping me improve it (especcialy the ending), contact me.
I'm going to go now. This is not MySpace and I'm taking up precious Shmeng
bandwith with my whining.... ____________________

LOL I'm a 20 year old with an IQ of 147 and a mild case of ADD.  Let's just say I'm
fun around Pixi Stix...
This is an exerpt from the essay I wrote: "Now, with that said, I don't
care if you call me 'Goth'. Hell, I could give a damn less if someone says
I'm not. I'm not going to throw a fit, stomp my feet and flail like some 2
year old screaming, 'But I AM a Goth! I have the receipts from Hot Topic to
prove it!'"
I personaly don't care about the labels that other people and society (and
at one point, myself) give me. I just kinda wrote it as a rant, then it
turned into a sortta self-help thing for people in general, who are under
the impression that just because you look different, people automatically
hate you. I wanted them to see that, "No, they don't hate you. They
more than likely missunderstand you and instead of fighting, sit down and
explain why you dress and do the things you do."
And the 'lick you' comment.........my friend wrote it on my DeviantArt page
and I thought it was brilliantly funny. If I offend, sorry.....
And also, thank you for kinda-sortta saying I was smart.

ok..I cannot edit my previous post...odd...
My initial reaction was to just dismiss you out of hand, but that...would
have been too easy...
As a long time member of this site... I would like to pass on some advice
to help you, or your evolution here... I would say words of wisdom, but
that sounds plain arrogant and blase...
so... I am doing something... that I tried over a year ago, and it bit me
on the ass then... maybe I don't learn... but I am going to be nice...
1) never cite your iq... loses points instantly... also ... never cite
hitler or the holocaust...either mono or dolo said (A long while ago) first
person to cite hitler loses... and it is as true now as it was in that
situation... IQ is a number... and what happens here... transcends
numbers... you will be judged on your brilliance or studipity alone... As I
have said in many cases... the people with the highest iqs in the room are
the dumbest otherfuckers.
2) please try not to contradict yourself... if you are brilliant... be
so... if you are stupid..be that...but be consistent... in your thread...
'I suck' you shouwed an intelligent self awareness that was touching... and
moving... but in this thread... you have rambled... in a way that really
ahs said nothing... do some searches for teh site and you will find there
are classifications... one of them is "noisy idiot" they are necessary...
but if you are as smart as you claim... you will avoid this nomenclature
3) don't type, then go back and re-read it... think it out first... then
post it... make us want to drink in your words... make us crave your
mind... suck the marrow from the bones of life and let it drip from your
tongue and then share it in a way that we can all appreciate...
In this one I am saying, simply, the same thing I have said to many..the
burden of understanding falls upon the shoulders of the one who wishes to
be understood... I can see some true instie in your words... now format it
in a way that we can all appreciate it... because, frankly, otherwise you
are wasting your time...
My words may seem like they are harsh and possibly a flame... but they are
only intended in kindness... take them for what they are worth... ____________________

Ahh, I see. In my attempts to be humorous, I lost my intelect and became a
bumbling idiot. I apologize if I have offended or pissed off in any way.
Thanks for the advice though, I will take it to heart.
I also appologize for the 'lick you' comment. I now realize it was a
personal joke and when told to other people, I come off either as a moron
or a pervert. Sorry... ____________________

Eh, don't be too intimidated by people here. Yeah, you will get a lot of
advice on behavior and what to say and not to say... I say screw it, be who
you want to be. If people like you, they like you, and if they don't, don't
worry about it. Some of our most beloved personalities on this site started
out by irritating people so badly it made your teeth ache and your brain
bleed. And none of us are perfect. We've all made really dumb posts or
comments. Relax and be yourself, you'll fit in.

i completely agree with you Meranda- at some point we all kinda come off as
bumbling idiots, in all honestly who are you trying to impress? you really
don't have to impress anyone around here. I've been around this site now
for god knows how long, and I fell that it has helped me see the light, so
to speak, its just great to be able to converse with like minded souls,
goth or not, i'm telling you hot topic receipts don't make you goth, black
doesn't make you goth, its a mind state, a state of being if you will.

green*........
Anyways, I only hope that you can take the journey here and use the
resources available to grow as a person and not as a "Goth" cause thats
what it really is about, not the gothness or who is gothier than who, but
realize we are all just people who want to interact with people....whether
we agree on the same things or not, we still love and care for eachother as
if we were all one big dysfucntional family......

Let me start out by saying that the state I live in is Delaware and the
people here are analy obssesed with labels. I just cannot be a 'human
being' I have to be punk, goth, prep, wigger, redneck, ect. I have
to be a label. Which is completely asinine in my eyes. I don't care about
labels. Hell, I want a pair of siscors to cut them all off, metaphoricly
speaking.
Sadly, my friend Brian is one of those people. He tries so hard to be the
label of 'goth' that it's annoying. He'll dress to go out and say, 'Do I
look gothy enough? Is there enough chains?'. It gets old REAL fast.
Anyway, the only reason I typed the dreaded G-word is because I wrote the
essay for the little teenyboppers in my Mall and on the website forums I go
to, and that's the only word they seem to understand. I honastly hate the
word. It's conjures up so many bad images of immaturity in my mind. Someone
on this site said something to the fact of, 'Why label yourself? That means
if you call yourself a certain type of group, you cannot enjoy anything
that does not come from said sub-culture.' Which I totaly agree with.
You may have missinterpreted me. The thing about the Hot Topic Recipts was
a joke. It was a stab at the people who think just because they shop at a
certain store, they're automatically a certain genre. And there are a lot
down here in good ol' lower, slower Delaware.
Long rant short, come to Delaware, hang out at the Dover Mall and you'll
see what I mean. You'll also see why inbreeding is a bad thing.
