I don't know if you've heard about the flooding here from that tropical
storm that came through, but I just wanted to let people know that we're
just fine. Our house is on high ground. It's pretty strange to watch
footage of Keene - I go there all the time! Funny how with all this
hurricane stuff, I was just saying a few weeks ago that we really aren't a
natural disaster-prone area, except maybe for an occasional blizzard. Some
areas are pretty hard hit here, though. A lot of bridges destroyed, roads
washed out, and basements flooded - even garages washed away and
foundations damaged in houses next to rivers.
But I just wanted to make sure everyone knows we are safe. ____________________ "You can tell by the scars on my arms and the cracks in my hips and the

I didn't hear anything about that at all. I guess I am not keeping up on my
news so well lately. I'm happy that you are alright though. Take care.

Yeah, the worst of it was in Alstead, maybe half an hour away, where a
surge of water broke over a dam, and swept away houses, and killed several
people. Keene had some sections under 4-6 feet of water (but luckily not
in my favorite shop, which is unluckily located in a basement!). My town
is higher elevation, though, and is perfectly fine, if a little damp after
the heavy rain. The big concern right now is if we get another good storm,
the streams and rivers are too full to handle it and we could flood again.
And, woudn't ya know it, they're rumoring storms in the forcast.
My friend's boyfriend went out in the flood, and got a picture of a Blazer
with water up to the windows, and cops floating by in a raft. It was aired
on the local news. A woman at work knows someone who is missing. It's all
pretty crazy, but I don't think I am personally in any danger. Even if our
town floods, we're still on top of a high hill, so it would have to rain 40
days and 40 nights to reach us. I've cursed that hill many a time during a
snowstorm, but I'm pretty thankful for it at this point! ____________________ "You can tell by the scars on my arms and the cracks in my hips and the

Now Connecticut is flooding.
Callei, Shade, how bad have you been? ____________________ "People always say what we are looking for is a meaning for life…I don't
