have you all noticed the increasing amounts of big black boots flooding our
cities lately???? they have become cool.....how and when did that happen??
where the hell was i???? was i sunning myself under some sort of rock...or
did i just miss it on my way back from never never land??? yesturday i saw
some little 14 year old clunking (happily with difficulty) down the street
and swinging her chains wearing a check-skirt... i mean when i was her age,
i was still trying to figure out the difference between emo and punk....
what has become of the world... oh and another bone to pick, if i see one
more ultra-mini-quasi-beltlike skirt on some tarted up princess i swear to
god it wont be pretty...lots of pain and agony....thank you...anger
vented...........subsiding to average pissed stage ____________________

Nice one Kira.
Heck, not until my last year of high school was there anything I knew of as
emo. Whatever. People are allowed to wear pretty much what they want to, so
leave them to wearing their big black boots and get over it.
Oh, and the line "Nice boots" has been around forever, so what does that
tell you?

With my big black boots and an old suitcase I do believe I'll find myself a
new place. I don't want to be the bad guy, I don't want do your sleepwalk
dance anymore. I just want to see some palm trees. I will try and shake
away this disease. ____________________ Plenty of time, my sweet. Plenty of time. |

Oh, we also know that if this person does see another "tarted up pop

Everclear, Santa Monica. Good one, Rogue. Bit of trivia - ex-bassist of
Everclear Craig Montoya knows I exist. Unfortunately, he hasn't sent me
the goodies to promote his new band (Tri-Polar - www.tripolarmusic.com) that he
promised. However, he was touchingly and enthusiastically grateful to me
for painting the band logo on the hood of the demo derby car my husband
drove this summer. So it's all more or less good.
Yes, I am shamelessly name-dropping! ____________________ "You can tell by the scars on my arms and the cracks in my hips and the

my boots are black and silver kind of... they are very dirty and have a few
holes and are impossible to DDR in any longer. (For those of you have never heard of DDR)
It is always nice to get a shiny new pair of shoes, just to have them
sitting there and looking pretty. Though when i say shiny I don't specailly
mean brand new, but new to the individual. Second hand shoes are great that
way, they are new, they are a change, but you don't have to break them in.
Shoes brand new kind of hurt for a bit, at least I find they do, they are
not really foot shaped yet so much as they could be. generally when i get a
pair of shoes i wear them until they are nothing but half a sole and laces
before i get a new pair, i hate throwing out old shoes.
kind of shoes i like best are the converse low top ones, or i like my
winter boots. for the sneakers i like because they are very comfortable and
thin so they fit right to your foot and you can feel stuff through them.
boots i like cus they are clunky and warm and don't come untied so
easily.

Dear Anonymous, when you begin to discuss fashion on shmeng you are setting
yourself up to get slammed. Why you ask? Because you had to throw in
something about some tarted up princess or some bs. You left yourself open.
You would have probably have been slammed just for talking about fashion in
the first place because it seems that discussions about subcultures is
beneath everyone here because they have gotten over that. They will not
discuss it and they will mock those who still find an interest in them
even if they themselves still participate is such lifestyles. Especially
the goth scene. Do not ever mention the goth scene on shmeng. Even if you
were linked to shmeng by another goth site and found the goth test that way
make sure you know first hand that shmeng is not a goth site. You will not
find people here to talk about music and clothes and stuff. So if that is
what you are looking for forget it. They are above fun stuff like that. So
don't let their comments get to you. I would work on my social skills
though if I were you. You can't divide yourself from other people it just
isn't very mature. You sound like you need to grow up a little bit and
understand that everyone is ok. It is ok to be nice to everyone. No matter
how they dress. In life you will realize that life is not a fashion
statement. What you wear is for fun and not politics. So stop judging other
people by what they wear. ____________________

I don't understand the link between a girl's clothes and anonymous trying
to figure out the difference between two of the most disparate sub-genres
of music within the 'rock' category. Does that mean that when you were her
age you were too busy trying to remember what words meant to wear clothes? ____________________ Eritis sicut Deus scientes bonum et malum.

@MRD
Actually, the deadness here justified my question. The net isn't dying; on
the contrary, the blogosphere is more active and dynamic now than when I
first registered here at Shmeng. I'm proposing that the deadness here is
not a reflection of how Shmeng members need to make more noise. Rather, it
is a reflection of the fact that the noise being made here hasn't been the
sort that encourages people to want to participate... except
possibly those people whose lives and minds really don't have any
further questions after they have finished grappling with such urgent
issues as how somebody else should get dressed in the morning.
@gothicmormon
Mine seemed too simple a question to rate your incoherent hissy fit. I'll
be more than happy to discuss the matter with you after such time as you
learn to stop saying words and start assembling connected, reasoned
statements and arguments. ____________________ "I believe that woman is planning to shoot me again." |
