I would like to bitch about my job. I know there is a forum for that but since this is a Karma Free zone I will do it here to save my chalk board from getting any more written upon it.

I work at Azteca, a corporate Mexican restaurant which was started by some brothers who wanted to share their mother's cooking with the world and help her have a better life. Well, now their dream is to get lots and lots and lots of money from people by being super corporate. They want me to go Thursday to a meeting to learn how to do the job I was trained to do by the other employees. They are going to tell me all of the protocol and how I am supposed to do everything by the book at all times. If I end up going downtown to SouthCenter by myself on the city bus which I have never taken in my life, I will tell them that I cannot ask a parent if their child may have a balloon as they walk out the door and as I am walking customers to their table in the back of the restaurant. I also can't keep every menu sparkling clean at all times because we get so busy during lunch rushes and some dinner rushes I can't clean a ton of menus while trying to get a table together for a large party of people or taking other people to their seats or while putting in a to-go order in a machine across the restaurant. I don't want to say "Hola Amigos, how are you doing today" all of the time, but I do. I can't always remember the name of the server for a specific section when they are constantly shifting every day and from morning to night shift.

Oh, this also makes me think of something else I want to rant on. The state of Washington has the crappiest laws. I cannot server in a bar until I am 21, I can't go to any clubs until I am 21, and there aren't any good all ages clubs to go to. There are veyr few all ages clubs and they all suck. I know the first club I ever went to was one of the best goth clubs there is, but this really sucks big nasty hairy sweating wrinkly old balls on a donkey!

well its easy to obtain a job, working minimum wage, however, given the circumstances.. its not easy to support oneself on minimum wage.. i think when people say they want a job, they want a REAL job.. that you know.. pays more than 6 bucks an hour or whatever..

Dpending on where you live you can get 6 bucks or more an hour for minimum wage, but that is besides the point

Some people are overqualified for some jobs and underqualified for others and the jobs they are qualified for may have no openings in it. The job market sucks everywhere right now, so you try and find a job.

Yes, I have a job and I am glad I have a paycheck coming to me on Friday, but that doesn't mean I can't rant about my job. Everyone has the right to. I know everyone has something about their job that sucks, and most people have to be corporate and are stressed, but just let me get it out of me.

I don't enjoy botteling my emotions up inside of me, but I do. I don't always go ranting and raving over every little thing or even big things all of the time, but when I do, just let me get it out. I don't want to pop at those who treat me the nicest or those who I love so dearly.

ACTUALLY... once you recieve training... one cannot find a job in minimum wage... I have been turned down due to "overqualification" more times than I want to count... SOOOOOO... don't tell me how easily I can get a job as I have put in over 250 applications in the last month...

blah blah blah.... that's all I hear from posts like that...my eyes tend to run right over them

When you make some comment like "Oh totally" or "WOW" or "Duuuuuude I get ya" and you don't say why you understand or how you "get them" or why you are amazed, you aren't really saying anything at all. Therefore, "blah blah blah..." is all I hear or see. Try saying something more along the lines of "Oh wow, that's amazing. I remember when I put in such and such a number of applications and how hard it was for me too. I couldn't find a job for a long time, but I am sure something will come your way eventually. There must be a job for you somewhere" or "Actually, the job market here isn't doing that poorly, so it is easy to get a job here in most any field or such and such field. Why don't you check out other cities and states for the job market. Some business will cover moving expenses at times if they really need you." I would rather see something like that, than "blah". Encourage one another, lift each other up.

ANOTHER... this one... I am trained for... image processing... in a professional digital photo lab... they are hiring 14 people... they had 16 applicants... I have a super AT THE PALCEE OF BUSINESS give me a recommendation... I have letters of recommendation from every ex fucking employer I have ever had, teachers, and even fucking school board members... and they excluded me... and hired the pothead next door who has no experiencee in this field and doesn't have a goddamn degree... and... I... am... FURIOUS

Dontcha just LOVE that? I had a simuler experience.. except they hired the other girl full time because she was boobs and blonde hair. LOW iq.

Having a pothead hired over you would be compleatly infuriating.
