because there's already a thread strictly FOR RPG's, and this is about
"wierdo obsessive wiccan/pagans" and the two "wierdo" elements of both are
for HERE. Not to mention that most forums deviate after a page or two, so
who cares.

So this is about all those weirdo pags and wics that are just too far into
it and themselves for their own good....cool...but since you guys mentioned
christianity..how about we open up the book on those satanists? (not the
ones that worship the devil)
I had the chance to talk to one of these guys. I, having not known what
satanism was about decided to do a little research. And after about 2 maybe
3 hours of reading (cause i didn't want to completly turn my brain into a
mashed potatoe (that's right, with an "e" like they do in texas) like
substance) I decided that it was all B.S. To me it seems like it's a cult
sort of thing (in the way of all religions i guess but mostly like the
heavens gate cult), well the way the guy talked made it sound that way.
From my point of veiw it was all about the power within yourself to screw
over others....I was half tempted to pick up one of the books but
charmen(sp?) is much cheaper and softer....so i didn't much see the point.
Or maybe i got the wrong impression? 'cause, i admit, i really don't know
much a bout it.

You're wrong about it being a cult on one standpoint....I could be wrong,
but don't "cults" have to have a religious center to the whole propaganda
dept? What Satanism is (not Devil Worship, whole other ship on the styx
that bit is) is a cross breed between a country club for fuckery and self
worship/empowerment. COS is not a religion, they are not tax exempt, and
the whole "church" is based around a life philosophy and mindset. I hate
to break it to you, but people screw each other over every single day and
then lie to themselves to make them feel better about it, or go to
confession at a church to get "absolved" for being an asshole.
Now, did you read the Satanic Bible or did you read one of Lavey's
collection of essays? If you read the Satanic Bible, then I understand
because it's rather dry and a little nutsy, but it's got some good pointers
in it. However, Satan Speaks, and The Devil's Notebook are a goddamned
good time, and the collection of essays within show you more of the "real"
(ie: jackass, jerkoff, smartalec) Anton.
And yes, we're all crazy. Totally fucking bugshit professional jerkoffs.
That's why we're so fucking FUN.

You know, I don't know much about Satanism, (except for the obvious bit
about not being devil-worship.) But I DO know a Satanist, and am glad to
know her, too! (Yes, I'm talking about you, Bettie darlin'!)
All I can say is, the Satanist you talked to must have been kind of wacko
himself, and not in a good way either. Anything can be taken too far, and
it sounds like he took the whole fuck-people-over bit waaaaaaaay too far,
or at the very least communicated himself pretty damn badly.
If my girl Bettie is any indication, COS isn't about fucking other people
over as much as it is not allowing anyone else to fuck you over. Or your
good friends too, for that matter.
Personally, I have suddenly developed an overwhelming desire to learn more
about Satanism. It's been a while since I adopted a religion to study. So
far it's only been Christianity and Wicca. Neither of them tend to have
much backbone in the face of nasty people doing nasty things. I think
maybe I have something to learn from this kick-ass religion/philosophy to
fine-tune my technique and mindset while dealing with these fuckers.

Schitz, baby, you do what feels right, but there's no such thing as "wasted
time" when you're learning about something new. Even if you don't agree
with him, Lavey's writing is a fucking hoot, he cracks me up. Plus as an
added benifit, he's easily bored and had a short attention span when things
got booring, hence his books are short, precise, and almost WRITTEN for
people with short attention spans. Needless to say I didn't have to read
him twice to understand.
And as far as backbones, the COS isn't even JUST about protecting yourself,
it's got quite a bit about getting even or making a point to assure that
person and everyone they know that they DO NOT fuck with you. EVER. If a
man smite you on one cheek, BASH him on the other, there is no dignity in
being a doormat, yah yah blah.
One of the KEY things I hate about fucking "white lighter" pussies is their
goddamned "rule of three". They call people who don't subscribe to "white
light" (you can call it what you want, but bullshit is still BROWN) are
"bad people" and how terrible they are wank wank wank and ALWAYS fall back
on RO3. Well it states you don't do harm (even to someone who deserves it)
because it'll come BACK on you three times harder. Well you self righteous
sissies, if "we're" bad because we don't subscribe to peacenik hippie crap,
then where is YOUR rule stating "Don't cause harm because it's MEAN to do
that and we're GOOD people"? They use the fucking RO3 like a mother uses a
boogeyman under the bed to a child to make sure they don't get up for water
when mommy and daddy are playing "leapfrog" in the middle of the night.
It's a threat, a boogeyman, a fear tactic to keep control of people. It
doesn't make you a good or better person, it makes you a 'fraidy-cat.
And if I hear one more references to Salem and "those who died for the
cause" I'm going to fork someone. NONE OF THOSE DEAD PEOPLE WERE INVOLVED
IN WITCHCRAFT AND WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME TO THEIR NEIGHBORS IF THEY'D
GOTTEN AROUND TO IT FIRST! They weren't martyrs for new-agers, they were
victims of mass hysteria, bored hormonal teenage girls in a restricted
repressive social enviroment, and possibly ergot poisoning from an
unseasonable warm/wet spell before harvest (puritans on LSD!). So shut up.
Yeah yeah I did a sophomore report on it in highschool, but to my credit I
was 15 and didn't know shit about it.

theows in his two cents...*
Bettie... on your cult point... I would ahve to agree, but that is not
really wha tmost of the world believes... the CHURCH calls wiccans a
cult... and if THEY had a leader, they MIGHT be able to be dangerous to
akruller or two...
but I also agree with Schizo... I know several satanists (one makes these
AWESOME jesus on the cross marionettes)
BANE: in some instances, topics cross man

To be honest i didn't really know whether Satanism was considered a
religion or not...cause, lets be honest, just about any wacko with a book
and several dumb fuck followers can start a club and somewhere along the
lines call themselves a religion. I read of Anton's biography's and i think
some stuff he wrote...
Anyway the guy i was talking about was creepy and spoke as if it was a
religion. It sounded like he had been braiwashed or something. guys like
him are main targets of cults. (A young and insecure person who's looking
to be excepted looking for a place where he/she belongs.....blah blah blah)
A LITTLE OFF TOPIC
"... but they have a need to imagine themselves to be somethingmore... and
as such, they jump at the chance to Roleplay"
*points up* You aren't serious about that are you? That's just a joke
right? I guess i can understand how you arrived at that analysis, but then
it doesn't just come from the wiccans.
The way i see it, it's not them wanting to imagine themselves as something
more....it's them wanting to be apart of something bigger than themselves.
That to me is just a part of human nature. I mean read ferals article about
shmeng if you want an example. That kind of behavior is in every religion
and in just about every social setting.

I was in a world religions class last year (there are some neeto classes in
high schools now, look them up kiddies) and my teacher said that Pagans are
hedonists basically. They can have one god, many gods, or no god at all.
They just like the pleasures of life a lot and live like it. He wasn't
that great of a teacher, and hell he didn't want to seem bias to any
religion, but he was. He didn't tell us his religion until the end of the
semester and I had him pegged. Non-denominational Christian. He had us put
what we thought he was on paper, then he counted up how many of each there
were. Lots of people thought he was either Jewish or Buddhist, but I was
the only one who got it right. You do have to be careful with classes like
that though and not believe everything the teacher says because they might
be bias, but they can teach you a lot if you look around for yourself.
Debating with the teacher is fun.

"I read of Anton's biography's and i think some stuff he wrote..."
....sooo what did he write? And if it is a biography then someone else did
it, if it's an AUTObiography then HE wrote it, and he never wrote his own,
Blanche Barton wrote it for him when he was still alive. ("Secret life of a
satanist").
As for the guy you talked to, just remember that just like xianity, wicca,
paganism, buddhism (yes, even buddhism) there are people who WANT to fit
themselves into a category, not because they belong but because they like
the IMAGE of that group. These are where the crazy "cult" people come
from. ANd he might have been an offspirt of COS, like Temple of Set, Order
of the Golden Dawn (new, not old) or something. Those people can get a
little crazy too, and they consider themselves an actual religion with
Satan as an actual deity. ANd he MIGHT be in a cult going under the banner
of COS or an affiliate. If he is, then you better tell him to stay away
from kool-aide.

bettie: umm...i can't remember whether any of it that i read was written by
him or not...i read few biographys about him and none of those were written
by him
and it was kinda my point that in every group, whether they be religious or
otherwise, you're gonna have a few people that take it just a little bit
too far.
personally i think that when people start to take themselves too seriously
they end up making complete assholes of themselves, and it aint just the
christians....they're just the only ones you hear about until something
like the "heavens gate" thing happens

That was the point of half my ranting about pagans/wiccans. That they're
just as goddamned pushy. And if you ever run across a non-crazy satanist,
you'll realise quite quickly that they DON'T take themselves seriously, and
quite often rarely take OTHERS seriously either. I know I don't (myself
and others) and that's why I have so much fun at my expense and at the
expense of everyone around me. This didn't start out about xians, I never
brought up xians (other than to compare the super freaky pushy pagans to
the super freaky pushy xians) so.....hm. lost my train of thought.
Whatever.
Abbadon: cuz I'm hoping it'll knock whatever screw loose you have out so
it'll stop affecting your rational thought and end the random, idiot,
one-liner blanket statements and get some actual thought/participation out
of you. Why don't you give us a good old "out of nowhere" americans suck.
It's been a while.
