We all have talents: some can draw, some can do digital art, some can take
killer photos, some can sing, some can model, some can learn, some can
teach, some can play musical instruments, some can write, some can edit,
some can find the beauty in anything, some can find the beauty in nothing,
and some can just be...
What I want to know is this: what do you consider your art (or your talent,
if you want to use that term)?

I paint, sculpt, sing, act... et cetera, ad nauseum. However, if by "art"
we mean "expression", then I should mention that I am an internationally
recognised Grand Master of the bizarre rant form.

Monolycus, I think you got the point and ran with it...*grin*...either or
both were what I was looking for...
As for me, I write (I'm rusty, but I'm working on finding my voice again),
sing, sketch, paint, and I have this unusual calming effect on small
children.
I also like playing with cameras, and I'm currently using my new webcam to
toy with surrealism and other cool stuff...I've managed to take some decent
pics of myself, which does, in fact, take a lot of effort...
As for other talents...hmmm...I've been told that I'm good at "telling it
like it is" and worrying.

Art
Forms: drawing, painting, writing, poetry, and role-playing (OKAY,
not an art, but it still gets my creative juices flowing)...
Mediums: I prefer water colors or just simple sketching, but I've
experienced with ink washes, ink, oil paints, acrylic, colored pencils, and
lead (charcoal and pencil).
Genres: Dark, fantasy, mythological, occult, and sometimes other
things.

Okay...my post seemed a bit simple, but eh, am too tired to be descriptive.
In the end, my art is my art I suppose. I got some art flying around in
the digital art section if anyone wants to be the judge...

I am still working on my photography and writing skills, but I hope to one
day be able to say that I consider those my talents, and not just something
I'm working on.
As for talent, I can (and love to) sing and work on the pottery wheel. I'm
ok at sculpting clay, but I have done some tres cool things on the wheel. I
intend to own a cermic studio in my home one day.

I like to draw in black and white the most, but I can paint and sculpt as
well. I also have been playing guitar for at least 5 years now... I usually
just make music up instead of playing other peoples.

Mono you've also refined the art of hair splitting to an admirable degree
My main thing is painting. I used to only draw, but now it's mostly only
sketches for paintings in progress. I would have to say that my only other
real "talent" is karaoke, and I claim this as a talent only because I made
a scary, scitzopherenic, hairball of a man named "neil" in bike shorts and
a tank top do a wierd jiggy booty dance on a speaker to "ziggy stardust",
and once got mad props from a "cowboy" for tearing it up to guns n' roses.

there is always something lurking just beneath the surface.
My medium is the mind, a screaming abyss of clashing spasmodic colors in an
amusemnt park of disttust...
sometimes I change it up and I'll use sarcasm, brutality, or just plain
blatant truth as my medium, but that's not often...

I draw with feeling and little skill, cook, sing (but only to annoy those
around me), and danse.
I think my biggest "art" is living tho. Im good at it and i like to do it.

my personal artistic talent at the moment seems to be procrastination. When
that's not going on I can do some other things, but I'll tell you about
them later.

I'm a talented cook, a good writer, an expressive dancer, and a sexual
dynamo.
And I bring warm fuzziness into the lives of most people I encounter...
OK... I also paint a picture of reality by being the devil's advocate...
able to see multiple perspectives and allow you to refine your belief of
yourselfs...

Bettie: While it's always good to have one's accomplishments recognised,
I'm going to have to point out that hairsplitting is, in the strictest
sense, more of a science than an art. Also, while I am an accomplished
splitter of hairs and picker of nits (there was also one occasion when I
effed the ineffable until it walked funny), I would hesitate to call it "my
art". I'm more of a hobbyist, really.
And while I'm splitting hairs...
Feral: Devil's advocacy is not the ability to see things from multiple
perspectives. It's the art of defending principles and concepts that you
do not actually believe. Fancy word for argumentative disengeniousness,
which is why I reject the label myself. If you've really been doing that,
you've done it well enough that I couldn't tell.

not to be repititious, but painting mostly, started out with acrylics,
currently, experimenting with water colors, painted free hand until i taught
myself to draw, now my paintings have improved significantly, going through
a phase of inspiration presently, putting out paintings left and right at
this time, other talents that are on the smallish side of mundane, i am
very intuitive and can feel other people's emotions, i know when people are
lying by reading their body language, i have a tendency to be kind to
others but i still often walk around with my foot in my mouth, so my
talents center mostly on walking this earth with about as many human flaws
as the next person,

Ariadne, there's nothing wrong with sharing an art with someone else. It
doesn't make you repeitious; it just means that you have something in
common with the other people who do similar work.
Oh, and feet go well with hot fudge. Trust me.

Cleaning is one of my good arts....I can clean a mean house and cook a good
meal. I act, sing, write (poetry, short stories, erotica, song lyrics) I
play some piano, the guitar and the violin I can't dance but I have fun
doing it, abstract painting and sculptures, oh and I thrive on being a
smart ass..a bitch...sardonic as hell or just plain mean (its one of those
things that brings me happiness in this life) oh and I am a good
cuddler...
